The hotel is not big but it is in a neat location and has many eating places within walking distance and some pretty places to see while walking around. Enjoyable. The owners are great people. Since you order in front it saves the trouble of waiting for a waiter, but you should have an idea of what you want to eat, especially since the staff spoke limited English and need to keep track of your number. I ordered the tripe soup, which was pretty good, and a beer.

"Amazing Food, Location, and Value!"…read more While stationed in Germany, my wife and I discovered this little gem of a restaurant just outside the gates of Patch Barracks. We were on a walk in the woods, and happened across this restaurant in the middle of the gardens! We went inside, and found a clean little restaurant with a beautiful wooden porch, and cafeteria-style trays. We ordered, and found the food to be out of this world - such rich flavors, and everyone in the restaurant smiled and greeted us as we were seated. Of course, no traditional German meal would be complete without a glass of beer, so we dined and had an absolutely wonderful time. A few years ago, we returned and the experience was just as good as the first time - I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough - simple food, low prices, great beer, excellent view. Prosit!

My Wife and I went here for a date night; this place is good for that! The portions are small, but…read morehere in Germany things like the glassware, drinks, etc. are measured exactly as they should be for portion size, so don't go here if you're a greedy pig looking to stuff your face with a serving for 20. The food is very filling and honestly the best food we've tasted here in Stuttgart! This is an authentic gourmet restaurant with a Michelin Star; these are earned, not by yelp reviews and random people, but by the big wigs. They've earned it and have maintained that reputation regardless of what other reviews show. My wife and I had the duck and deer for the main courses. Both were incredibly amazing! We cleaned our entire plate and were tempted to lick them clean. We ordered the beef tartare for the starter and we probably had the same euphoric reaction a Lion would biting down on on some caribou. For dessert, we chose the Sorbet and the Almond Pudding/Cake. 20/10 for all of the food; all of which was recommended by Rusty so thank you for that! Danke schön! We were recommended, by Rusty, the Primitivo red wine and the Lugano white wine; both Italian wines were incredibly delicious and a perfect pairing for the meal! We tried a glass of both to start and decided to buy a bottle of the Primitivo; good choice! There are many more wines and more elegant/High-end wines but we stuck with the recommended Primitivo. We loved the ambiance, and the spinning clear dome chairs suspended from the ceiling were a nice way to get a little cozy together. The music varied, but all tunes were perfect for the mood! They had R&B, Alternative, Jazz, and other good tunes! A lot of individuals are saying it's expensive; most likely due to the "small portions/price,"but as mentioned, these proportions are perfect and the taste is worth the price! A good filling meal and a great night; we will definitely return for a future endeavor! Johanna and Rusty were tending to our requests and we couldn't be happier with their performance, professionalism, kindness, sociability, and the service! You both were awesome and we thank you! To the chef and all the kitchen; BRAVO! Thank you for the meal.

Breakfast is €21/ea, and consists of an open buffet where you can serve yourself a full English breakfast amongst other great options (various cheeses, salmon, breads, etc). Champagne and juices are included as well, so you'll have no issue turning your very good breakfast into a great breakfast. We also had lunch at the Finch during our first day. I was looking for something simple like a sandwich or burger, but the menu is more of the 5-star variety. I went with the Waldhotel Salad and a bowl of the coconut Thai curry pumpkin soup. The salad, as you can see in the photo, was gigantic... and delicious. Everything was. The only downside about the Finch is the initial confusion upon walking in. There's no host stand or dedicated greeting area, so you basically walk in amongst the other diners already seated, who all of course stop to stare at the new patrons. The servers are all very busy and it isn't intuitive whether you seat yourself or wait to be seated, so there's this awkward few moments where you're trying to figure it out or be told what to do. That is of course very minor and both experiences at Finch were very good overall.
