I was staying at the hotel. Had breakfast and lunch there. Breakfast was included in my room rate. Lunch was not. Had chilaquiles verde for breakfast con huevos which consisted of tortillas in a green sauce with an fried egg on top. I had black tea to drink . The meal was not hot. The tea was not hot. I love my hot tea in the morning especially that it was a little chilly in Tulum that time of the year. I love a warm or hot meal too but disappointed there. The salsa verde was too acidic and lacked much seasoning making the whole dish very bland. The service was ok .at luck time I wasn't the only one in the dinning rom and there was loud club music pumping. I hadn't slept the night before because of the same loud club music and neighbrhd barking dogs that kept me us until 4am. Asked waitress to lower the music. She. Barely lowered the volume. Still loud pumping music when I am trying to enjoy a meal. Ended up with a migraine. My lunch was a tortilla soup called sopa de Lima. It was good but again broth lacked seasoning and soup was not hot. Also has a fried fish with rice and veggie. Rice and veggies were gross and bland and not hot. Fried whole fish was yummy but so little meat and lots and lots of bones so very cheap inedible fish. This dish itself cost 285 pesos. Honestly I paid 100 for a dish that was a thousand times better than this in puebla but then again this is Tulum the most expensive place in Mexico where everybody's trying to make money off tourists. I ordered a glass of OJ and got less than 125ml of lukewarm juice for 60 pesos! Not impressed. Waitress was the same person that served me in the morning but was not smiling or friendly and gave me cold looks. Didn't tip her, didn't like her service , her food or the price. Gave me even colder looks after that! I have a pretty sophisticated palate and I know my food and this was pretty much bland imitation of Mexican dishes Catered to. Gringos.
