Service was friendly & attentive, a kudos to our waitress Fannie. Though we came for seafood I started with a moose tar tar, it was tender, and exquisite, some trumpet mushrooms, I questioned putting chips in the mix, but it was the right mix. I liked it enough to order 3 of these dishes. Next I had a mushroom risotto. It was a good rich, dense, had come with a grated, sharp cheese already on top, though I prefer to add the cheese. It was good, especially for a place I wouldn't expect it. Though I would not order it again, save it for the Italians. The main course was Halibut, with a Kale side, artichoke's & a cream sauce more akin to a Hollandaise sauce. The fish was a nice portion (finally) and seared on one side and cooked just right. It was tasty and flaked away. The 'butter sauce' was more a solid as it was not liquid and was soft & delish! a nice sauce for the halibut. My colleague had the cod and was very pleased. In all a charming place on the canal, good food & good service, I'll be back.

We had the five course tasting menu, which was awesome, but if I went back, I would have their signature dish as a main entrée, which is, a scallop treated like you've never seen a scallop treated before. It is succulent, mouthwatering, subtle and varied, and its flavors of sauces and worth the trip to Trondheim to try.

The location has several tables outside and across the street as well as several on the inside. The decor is interesting. Everything is ordered through an app and paid that way which made things very streamlined. Service is prompt but generally if we needed something it was some effort to flag down a server given how busy they were. Food-- The fish soup was delicious. Wonderful flavor, lots of different types of seafood (mussels, shrimp, fish). The reindeer stew was an experience. Stew was well done and topped with microgreens and lingonberries. The ice cake was like frozen whipped cream in the best way. My kiddo talked about it for days. Definitely worth checking out this restaurant!

Some of the wines went really well with the dished, but a few of them I think they really should consider to change as they did lift the food to another level at all. But in general the food was great, especially the pasta with king crab was outstanding. Also the last dish with deer was perfectly cooked and so tender. One thing I really liked is that this restaurant is not all about sharing dished , which to many restaurant innmy opinion is doing these days. Just nice to have your own plate one in a while:) The service was pretty ok, I did not get the impression they had any sommelier in the restaurant that night, but they knew where the wines came from and which grape they were made from so that is sufficient for me. Anplace I would recommend, and a place I probably would go back to.

We got a cozy table in the corner, but still we did feel a bit surrounded and that other guests were eavesdropping. So we'd better stick to the shallow conversations. Amongst the options of 3, 4 or 5 courses, we chose the full menu, which in general was a good choose. Dishes were tasty, but a few weeks later, I do not remember anything but the grilled peppers. What I do remember, is the very distant and not at all inviting waitress, that saved her smiles for a sunny day. We were three people, leaving quite an amount for wine and food, so I would have expected better service. She personally made my review a 3-star instead of a 4-star.

This is casual and the menu is not very big (and changes neither very often nor by very much), but they found something they're extremely good at and perfected to an incredible extent. I can't think of a single thing I'd change here. Most of the food they serve has traces of traditional Scandinavian cuisine, some Mediterranean and Arab influences, and a good dose of east Asian flavors. That might sound messy, but it's not -- the flavors are really well balanced. As much as I eat here, they still manage to surprise me with their creativity while still maintaining a sufficient sense of familiar flavors. The food is also really healthy and they use a lot of local organic ingredients. I tend to prefer the dinner over the lunch (get the dinner of the day), but the lunch is also very good. It's also very cheap, and they offer takeout. This is probably not the best vegetarian restaurant in the world, but that's easy to forget when you're here and feeling blissful, and I'd say Persilleriet easily holds its own against more famous vegetarian restaurants like Leaf (Boulder, CO) or Candle 79 (NYC). (The main difference being the level of formality and style of cooking.) If you have any interest in food you need to try this place.
