The chefs here are truly skilled, and my recommendation is to share a plate for 2 or 3 persons. My favorite is the Tempura Mixed, but if you're feeling fancy (and don't mind spending some extra money), go for the Omakase, and the chef will compose something creative based on whatever is the best ingredients at the time. If you just want to stuff yourself with as much food as possible, or would rather have your maki drowned in chili mayo - or don't really care for the seafood at all - then just go somewhere else. Trondheim has plenty of good all-you-can-eat sushi buffets to offer

Good atmosphere and friendly staff, even if you're ordering in English (like myself). Free water available, some of the cheapest beer places around this area. If you're looking for true Neapolitan pizza, this is the place to be! The crust is absolutely to…read moredie for and the toppings are equally divine. Both our visits were early walk-ins: the first time we were seated at the non-reserved window seats; on our next visit, the very nice maitre'd let us have a table if we promised to be out by 4pm. She even offered to let us pay in advance to maximize our time! Even though that worked for us, we'd strongly recommend making reservations! On our first visit we ordered their Margherita pizza, since that's our standard "reference" pizza. We were blown away by the incredible crust but not the toppings; the tomato sauce didn't have the kick we'd expect from DOP San Marzano tomatoes, but it may have been from a paucity of Grana Padano parmesan. No matter; this was a small deviation from perfection. During our first visit we noticed several incredibly cheesy pizzas coming out of the oven, so the second time around we tried their Quattro Formaggi pizza. Five minutes later it was on our table and this is definitely the ultimate--bursting with flavor, distinctly different from any other we've ever had. Perusing the menu, I noticed that Gorgonzola was one of the four cheeses, which is definitely not standard practice! Pure genius! For dessert we had the Tarteletta Cioccolatto e Lamponi, which was superb. We really cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. Just perfect.

One not so fun feature of the restaurant is that they have no toilet for guests, but rather tell you to go down the street to the shopping mall (an adventure in itself & 10 minute round trip). This is in many ways the best and tastiest food you can get in Trondheim. And yes, I've been to…read moreCredo, Emilies, et al., and they're all really good, but they've never amazed me as much as this place keeps doing. This is casual and the menu is not very big (and changes neither very often nor by very much), but they found something they're extremely good at and perfected to an incredible extent. I can't think of a single thing I'd change here. Most of the food they serve has traces of traditional Scandinavian cuisine, some Mediterranean and Arab influences, and a good dose of east Asian flavors. That might sound messy, but it's not -- the flavors are really well balanced. As much as I eat here, they still manage to surprise me with their creativity while still maintaining a sufficient sense of familiar flavors. The food is also really healthy and they use a lot of local organic ingredients. I tend to prefer the dinner over the lunch (get the dinner of the day), but the lunch is also very good. It's also very cheap, and they offer takeout. This is probably not the best vegetarian restaurant in the world, but that's easy to forget when you're here and feeling blissful, and I'd say Persilleriet easily holds its own against more famous vegetarian restaurants like Leaf (Boulder, CO) or Candle 79 (NYC). (The main difference being the level of formality and style of cooking.) If you have any interest in food you need to try this place.
