Our waiter, Jeremy, was fun and gracious throughout the evening. The bus staff was active and helpful. The manager checked in with the table a couple of times which also makes a big difference. We enjoyed the oysters and sharing family style a number of dishes on the menu. The wine choices were very good of which Jeremy made great selections for us. We will come back in a week after our tour.

The mussels were on the smaller size but that's ok since there were so sweet tasting and the cream broth was amazing. The fries were crispy and delicious. My friend had the duck breast. Excellent French style cuisine in a casual setting…read more The food was outstanding and would not be out of place in a haute cuisine kitchen. Largely French classics. The beef tartar was fresh with a deep red color and well seasoned. The half chicken was roasted golden and moist. They had seasonal white asparagus. Service was more laid back and casual. There is sidewalk dining available. Pricing of entree would have suggested something more but the cost seemed in line with other restaurants in the area. Overall, I would happily return and try the rest of the menu which included daily fish specials and seasonal salads.

The waitress nicely made sure we understood the pricing, how to eat it, and checked in on us a couple of times. Don't order the extra potatoes if you get the fondue. Yes, the Rosti had the expected greasy texture, but just enough to make it savory without overpowering the various ingredients. I would recommend this restaurant if you are interested in trying the traditional Rosti dish in several varieties.

The atmosphere at Windows is perfection. The floor to ceiling windows over looking the Jet D'eau automatically bring a brightness and romance to the spot, even on an overcast day. The interior is cosy and inviting. The afternoon tea is 43 CHF per person, and includes your choice of tea, five finger sandwiches, scones w/ double Gruyere creme and heated homemade jam, and a variety of bite sized scrumptious sweets. This is definitely not a light meal, thankfully I did not have any lunch beforehand, and I didn't eat much for dinner that evening. I was stuffed. You could easily share the one tea between two people. It is served on a beautiful multi tiered silver tray. The tea menu is quite large, and there are many interesting selections to choose from. The tea was amazing, and the food was scrumptious. The scones come out fresh from the oven. They were the best scones I have had! I would come back just for a pot of tea and their menu option of a plate of 3 scones served with the creme and jam. They were by far the highlight of the entire selection. The service was OK. However, our waitress at the end had ended her shift, and we never seemed to get anyone else after that, so it took a bit to flag someone down at the end. I am glad that I had dressed nicely, as everyone in the restaurant was wearing business suits. I would have definitely felt out of place in jeans and a t-shirt.

The view is still nice but I reckon many Americans may expect that the name + picture means you're high up, so it's worth mentioning. The restaurant is fine: large portions compared to trendy restaurants in the US and nothing offensive taste-wise but the prices are in the realm of make-believe. $49 for basic chicken curry and $69 for basic (but finely pounded) veal schnitzel. In all of my travels there has been no precedent for such high prices being assigned to "everyday" dishes that are in no way elevated.
