Such a underrated hidden gem at the border!…read more Lovely place with delicious food. The owner was such a sweet lady. We had such a relaxing and delicious meal here. All the food was prepared with lots of care and detail and tasted absolutely marvelous!!! I would have missed this location if it weren't for Yelp. From the outside, it looks a house. I had to get back to Boston, otherwise I totally would have been back for dinner! The rabbit and salmon dishes are only served at night....=( We had the coucous and crepe, both were heavenly! I need to find another excuse to go back!!!

I honestly wish I could remove the yelp minimum 1 star and give this place a very solid zero…read more The food was awful. I could have been mistaken but it seemed that the only food available was one of four dishes, this was evidenced by The menu identifying either "repas de midi" (noon meals) or "repas du soire" (evening meals). The four evening meal dishes were Lamb merguez with couscous, vegetable couscous, Duck confit and salmon. I ordered the lamb, wife ordered duck confit. We ordered a bottle of wine to share Our server sat down at a desk to put our order, already placed with the kitchen, into their PoS, when an older lady approached her the, two were in earshot and I was clearly able to hear her say, in french, "I told you earlier we were out of the couscous". I braced for the inevitable but didn't think anything of it as The waitress didn't say anything about it when she delivered my wife's salad. I felt relieved. Until fifteen minutes later she came back with the news she'd had for at least twenty minutes. And said " do you want to order something else". In retrospect, I should have said no. I don't like fish or duck...duck is my preferred evil. She disappeared behind the wall and came back about a minute later with our two meals. 1- Confit duck with cranberry sauce. 2- veggies: string beans, zucchini, red peppers 3- scoop of parboiled basmati rise 1 - duck confit A solid quarter inch of fat on top of the meat absolutely drowning in cranberry sauce. The confit looks as though it came directly out of the bag and onto the plate, it wasn't crisped up, no Maillard reaction, just boiled in fat. Cranberry sauce was overly bitter. Meat was so painfully salty that it took three or four glasses of water just to get through it. 2 - veggies The string beans were over cooked and mushy. The zucchini was the star of the whole meal. 3 - parboiled rice. I don't know if I really need to say any more than this side would have been improved if it was served with an ice cream scoop. Old french music playing in the back ground does not a fine dining experience make. Several other reviews have said they have an excellent wine list. There were 5 reds, 5 whites, one sparkling, 2 rose. I've seen more extensive lists at Boston Pizza. This was the worst meal of my life, and I've eaten hot dog soup. I honestly wish we had celebrated my 35th birthday at a McDonald's.

They were able to take us with no prior reservation which was great! Really authentic ambiance, it feels like the place has been there for a long time. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and spoke both French and English. The menu also was in both languages which was uber convenient. We went with combo dinner that included (1) a choice of an appetizer, (2) a soup or small salad, (3) main course, and (4) coffee/tea. The pricing for the whole thing was very affordable - 38 to 52 Canadian dollars which is a steal if you are in the US. The desserts are at extra cost - 7-9 Canadian dollars... Both my friend and I enjoyed our food. The highlight was the melon with blue cheese appetizer - very elegant and eclectic dish that doesn't compare to anything I tried before. The rabbit leg with prune sauce was also unusual and a must-try. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area next time.

Sadly, this place seemed well beyond its expiration date. The word "tired" comes to mind. The beef…read moredishes were non-descript. Onion soup was just OK. The vegetables were boiled to insipidness. Our waiter was up-beat and very attentive, describing the menu in glowing terms and making a valiant effort to raise our dining experience from the dead. But when you're dead, you're dead. We really wanted to like this place as a friend, who knows food, had recommended it. He enjoyed a meal there several years ago. I hope that they rediscover their glory days.

Came to the one in Brossard and note that there is free parking that is available. I ordered the fish and chips with the Caesar salad for an appetizer. I knew this place was gonna be pricey, but at least the decor helped match the ambiance of the food. Drinks were a very reasonable price and the food was delicious. A bit a bit pricey for the appetizers. A Caesar salad was in the $15 range my colleagues who had the beef tour said it was delicious and very fresh. My fish and chips came with a side of peas, which I personally didn't care for, but it did add a little bit of colour to the plate. The fish was very tender and crispy, and the fries were seasoned just right. For dessert had a chocolate mousse which topped off tonight beautifully. The place looks very luxurious inside and reminds me of a nice warm inviting restaurant. Service is top-notch with our waiter being needed and not there when not needed. I would definitely recommend this for a date night or any special occasion as they can accommodate any size groups as long as you reserve ahead of time.

We wanted to try the Tomahawk but it wasn't on the menu so we decided to do steak on another day. To drink we ordered the apple cider. The cider was delicious and very crispy like I was eating a Cortland apple. We were served crispy bread with herb butter. The bread was crispy like toast and the butter was soft. It came with a small jar of baby dill pickles. They had a good crunch! We started with the lobster bisque. This bisque was very tasty. We could taste the lobster and it was very light; not a heavy or overly creamy soup. Pooh ordered the seafood risotto and I took the Dijon chicken. Both dishes were amazing. Pooh really enjoyed his risotto. He likes the addition of zucchini to give it a little crunch . The seafood was cooked to perfection. My chicken was super tender. I could taste the Dijon mustard. The mashed potatoes were smooth and the green beans were crispy and cooked perfectly. Our server was very polite and checked on us regularly. He apologized for not getting the wine when our meal arrived. Our only complaint was the wine. Usually the wine arrives right before the meal but our meal arrived first and we ate slowly as we waited for the wine to come. The wine arrived five minutes later and the server explained that it wasn't cold enough to give us. By the time I finished eating (because we had to wait for the wine) my potatoes were cold. We finished our evening with dessert. I had the lemon-in-a-jar and Pooh had the Crème brûlée. Pooh's crème brûlée was perfect. My lemon dessert was too sweet. The tartness of the lemon was overpowered by the sweetness of the almond crumble We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent but they need to put the white wine in a cooler sooner.

The Microbrew culture in Sherbrooke is going strong and Siboire is one of the best! I had been…read morethere before for beer but last night was the first time I went there for food. It's located in the old Canadian National Railway station that still partially serves as the Intercity Bus station. Parking is no problem, there is free parking for Siboire customers between 4 PM and 4 AM while the parking garage next door is avaiable during the day. First, the most important, is the Beer. I had 3 pints, one of their Oatmeal Stout, which was excellent, nice and rich but not too heavy and flavourful. Not quite as good as St. Ambroise's Oatmeal Stout because it is a bit too watery, but still great. Then I had a pint of Calvaire, which is their signature Pale Ale. It is a great pale ale that has a good hoppy bite. Finally I had the Ingenieuse, which is an Irish Red ale that is fairly sweet for a Red but still very tasty. The Food was very good, I had fish and chips that was very good. You get to choose the kind of fish you want and get 3 pieces plus fries and coleslaw for $15.00. The fissh was nice and moist and the batter good, blus the fries and coleslaw were excellent (some of the best slaw I have had). Definitely worth the money. The Service was also excellent, the waitress was attentive and very friendly. This is one of my favourite places in Sherbrooke and I hate saying this but it is actually a better pub with better beer than my beloved Golden Lion in Lennoxville. I apologize to all my fellow Bishop's Grads for saying that but it is true.
