We went here for both dinner and breakfast after our stay in Margaret Harbour. The food was delicious for both meals!

Lots of locals were here and one of the places that stays open later. The pizza was really good and reminded me of Pizza Hut, but better. The loaded poutine was like a Sheppard's pie combine with fries and seemed pretty filling. I would come back for the pizza. read more

This was a place we stopped on the way to a hike to grab food. The garlic bread was rudimentary essentially toast with garlic butter on it which was ok. The veggie explosion pizza was good and very filling. Overall for something to fill your stomach good place to stop. read more

We went for breakfast late one Saturday afternoon. It was busy and they were down a server but we're still able to get us a table pretty fast. Even while being quite busy the service was fantastic. The food is pretty standard as far as breakfasts go. We had the usual 2 egg breakfast, one with sausage and the other with bacon. Stopped here this morning on our way out of Chetticamp to head back toward Halifax and so glad we did. Filled with locals speaking French, yet so friendly and welcoming to us Americans. One "regular" stopped by the table to chat and told us about the area. And, of course, the breakfast fare was delicious as well. read more

We were staying close by so we went in for a quick breakfast. This is very much a mom and pop type of place, in a good way. They serve eggs/bacon/toast as well as things like pancakes and French toast. The decor is very simple and dated but clean. Our server was so welcoming and lovely and despite the place being quite busy, was able to take our orders right away. The prices are very good and inline with what you would expect for a simple breakfast place that probably sees as many locals as it does tourists. We ordered blueberry pancakes, French toast (made with their home-made bread) and oatmeal. They were served hot and fast and just like your aunt would make - without frills. Fruit choices were limited to blueberries as an addition to a number of dishes and an old-school grapefruit half so if you are looking for a breakfast with fresh fruit and yogurt, this isn't your place but if you're looking for good home-cooked breakfast done old-school, this is it. read more

Cheticamp sees a lot of tourists and visitors, but the first thing we noticed about Restaurant Evangeline was the number of residents who were eating here. The decor is simple, the food is without frills, but it was well prepared, tasty, and the service was welcoming and friendly. A nice place. If we get back to Cheticamp in future travels, we're stopping here again. read more

Order anything with their homemade bread and you won't be disappointed ... expect it to arrive quickly and you might. Overall, a good mom and pop stop with friendly service that made sure our coffee cup was always full (but somehow forgot to bring our kids drinks every time). The smiling waitstaff made it comfortable to wait, and the fact there wasn't a free table the entire time we were there is a testament to the quality of the food. read more

I'm compelled to write my first review ever because my experience here for breakfast at 9:00 AM was so poor: Folding plastic tables with no covering, grapefruit the size of a small orange and a tiny portion of oatmeal, but the kicker was the bran muffin I ordered toasted or grilled. It was served whole and un-toasted, so I nicely asked the server to please have it toasted but she refused, saying it wouldn't fit in a toaster. I nicely asked for it to then be grilled but she said the grill is taken up with bacon and is full of bacon grease. Instead of suggesting it be grilled near the eggs instead, I cancelled that portion of my order and got up to pay, still hungry. Waiting in a long slow line to pay, I had a clear view of the kitchen: they could have grilled three dozen muffins simultaneously on that flat top. There was also no one in the kitchen for the 10 minutes I stood in line. An empty flat top but no cook, and a mountain of dirty plates but no dish washer. By the time I was finally able to pay, the dining room tables were mostly empty but with dirty plates, and there was a long line of patrons out the door waiting to be seated.
