You take a little escalator up, and the vibe is almost romantic, or as romantic as a cafeteria-like setting can be. I love the concept where you use a card, order anything you want, and pay at the end. I feel like I should have tried more dishes before confirming that this place is three stars. I had a salad with figs and goat cheese, and though it was good and plated adorably, it wasn't enough to make me come back. This place is apparently a chain all over Europe, and the prices are alright when it comes to Swiss restaurants.

The interesting thing that I've never experienced before is that your order is split into half portions. After you finish your first serving they bring you the exact same plate. I'm not sure what to think of this... I mean the 1st serving seemed like enough for most of the table, my friend who go a huge lamb shank declined his second offering, I don't know who can eat all that!! But besides that, I felt accomplished eating my first plate, a second serving of the exact same thing made me feel like the second helping was more of a task than enjoyment lol. Fortunately, i decided to swap my snapper for my friend's veal. I favored the snapper over the veal, ir was light and fresh. I would recommend making sure you have worked up a good appetite if you decide to visit here. Also it gets so loud in there we found ourselves yelling for conversation. Be sure to warm your vocal pipes too!

If you were looking for a steakhouse in Lausanne, this is the place you want to try for sure. The…read morerestaurant-café located in Prilly has fresh meat from the butchery next door. They have huge selection of meats going from Pork, Horse, Beef but you also have some Seafood and Pasta selection. Atmosphere 3/5: This is a typical café restaurant Swiss style. Nothing over the top or fancy, this place is more a stop and go for the truck drivers as well. The place is a clean place to eat tho. They have a bar section as well and a terrasse outside. Food 5/5: I think this is one of the prime spot for Steakhouse lovers. The meat served are quiet big as you can see on the pictures and they serve it with 3 different kind of sauces; Café de Paris, Pepper sauce or Mushroom sauce. I read that if you ask for a sample of all 3 of them, they would bring it with no extra charge. The fries are good as well. The salad is alright, nothing over the top but you can feel that everything is fresh there. Service 3/5: The service was alright. They were nice to accept us at 1.45pm on a Saturday but we sometimes had some trouble to get in touch with our waitress. The service was fast tho, we were served food quickly and everything went smoothly. In conclusion, if you're a steak lover, give it a shot! The price isn't excessive at all and the price/quality is pretty good for what you're getting. A horse entrecôte is 24 CHF which includes a Green salad as well.

Our waiter was so friendly and patient with us through broken French. He helped us choose an affordable wine pairing with our meal. One of the first things I researched upon arriving in Lausanne was crepes, and I quickly arrived at…read morethe internet consensus: Creperie la Chandeleur is bae first and foremost and La Creperie d'Ouchy comes in a distant second place and caters more to tourists. While the latter part of that is true - that the clientele is tourist driven, I myself found that La Creperie d'Ouchy dished up better crepes than Creperie la Chandeleur, which I visited a day later. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Sure it's a tourist spot but hot damn is this view near impossible to beat. Between that and ample seating with fast and friendly service this is a treat anyway you cut it. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Sure, being a tourist trap comes with a price tag, and at La Creperie d'Ouchy that price tag is very, very, exceptionally high even for Lausanne. My Normande apple sweet crepe was of good size, but I simply could not get over its 17,50 CHF price tag. That'd be an expensive meal even in Lausanne, and it was highway robbery for a crepe especially given the lower price point at Creperie la Chandeleur. No Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This was a truly excellent crepe. From the crepe itself packed full of flavorful homemade apple sauce to the excellent cream and cinnamon ice cream, this was genuinely excellent as were all those enjoyed by my party - both sweet and savory. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? Absolutely. The view, the menu, the execution. Excellent. Star.
