How anyone finds these places always surprises me. If it weren't for my friend's, girlfriend's parents, we would never have known about it. It is my friend's goto place and i had high expectations. Sure enough it was everything i expected it to be. A total neighborhood joint that serves that whole neighborhood and then some. They have a thriving to go paella and arroces business where they cook on their rooftop to fulfill the orders. You pay a small deposit and you can take the pan with you, returning it the next time your back. How cool is that?
Came for my last lunch in Spain. A hummus appetizer, a foie with fruit compote dish, some savory pastries, octopus with pimenton/ sea salt/olive oil, and of course the house seafood paella. Everything was awesome. The freshest ingredients from the nearby sea, cooked with the greatest care. There was only one waitress running the whole place and she took great care of us. A bottle of Martin Codax and then some great espresso after. It was hard to leave, i could have stayed a lot longer. Sometimes these hidden gems are just the place to experience the local culture. You just need someone local to actually find it! read more
