Don't go to this place, they'll rip you off!
Tonight I had what probably was the worst dinner of my life.
It was five of us, and I'm vegetarian and can't eat garlic because I'm severely allergic to it. I asked if they could make me a paella vegetariana without garlic, and they said that it was not possible to make it only for me, and that if I wanted it I had to pay for two portions (17€ x 2= 34€).
So after a very difficult and painful conversation, because nobody in the restaurant spoke a basic English to be able to communicate with costumers (the guy who served our table purposely made very clear he was quite annoyed by the fact I was trying to ask questions about my ALLERGIES), I decided to order a simple salad with cheese and tomato ("like a caprese salad", and I repeated at least three times).
Instead, I got a plate with about two tomatoes cut in pieces, and another plate with slices of cheese. Not what I asked at all, but at that point I didn't wanna complain and try to explain what I wanted, so I just ate what they gave me. Actually I didn't even finish the tomato pieces nor the cheese, cause neither of them tasted fresh.
So at this point I'm very disappointed, and hungry as well, but at least I though I was gonna save money, since I only had a sort of an appetizer. A very bad appetizer.
Then the bill comes... and the half portion of tomatoes and the half portion of cheese (they even wrote down "half portion" on the bill) were 20€. TWENTY FUCKING EUROS for two tomatoes and a few pieces of cheese.
Then they charged us 2,65€ per piece of bread (per piece!) Basically they asked us if we wanted some bread, we said yes, they brought us a tiny piece per person, and we found out later on that each one of those pieces was 2,65€.
Anyhow, I brought up with the server that 20€ for a few pieces of tomato and cheese, without even any dressings or anything else that could somehow justify that price, was unacceptable. After not understating for a while, he simply answered he was not the one deciding the prices, and walked away.
I really didn't wanna chase him, and make a scene, and ask to speak with the manager, I was just so frustrated and disappointed. Maybe I should have asked to speak with the manager, but anyway we chose to just leave.
Side note: I didn't try the two double portions of paella my friends ordered because they had meat in them, but none of my friends liked them. And the portions were quite small. When the plate gets presented to you, the paella seems abundant, but then you realize it's only one tiny "layer" of food displayed on a thick pant, so once you put the food in your plate it barely covers two small portions.
Sorry I have to repeated one more time because I can't wrap my mind around it...
TWENTY EUROS FOR A FEW PIECES OF TOMATO AND CHEESE (WITHOUT ANY DRESSING WHATSOEVER)! UNBELIEVABLE!
- And 2,65€ for a tiny piece of bread (again, no dressing, nothing at all, only bread) -
Extra side note: they keep the AC on, at a freezing temperature, so if you're one of those people who get badly sick when extremely cold air blows on their throat, head, muscles and bones, this is another reason not to go dine to this terrible place. read more
