    Kids grilled cheese with fries
    Serena S.

We had a great early dinner (5:30p) here on a Saturday night while the hotel was hosting a wedding. We had made a reservation so we were seated right away and the hostess was kind enough to offer us a few options on tables. We opted for a table facing the water so we could watch the harbor seals pop up and dive back down as they foraged for their dinner. We had a Shirley temple and a French Blonde cocktail with their rosemary bread followed by a kids grilled cheese with fries, the burrata and calamari. We skipped dessert as we planned to have s'mores at the fire pits later but there was one that looked like a s'mores torte in a cup I had my eye on...

Drinks were great. Oysters delicious- lil Lillies which are apparently local. Fish and chips was actually cod. It was good but a little salty for my taste (breading). Fish was good and crispy. Fries were sad and soggy but hey. Nice view. Not a lot open near here. Alicia the server is magnificent. I watched her interact with everyone while serving ALL of the bar tables as far as I could tell. She was nice to EVERYONE from the fancy dressed event folks to a local fisherman looking guy. Keep her. I might be back later for dessert or a bev. No more auto 20% gratuity, I guess they heard the reviews loud and clear.

Beautiful sunset with the Sound & Olympics...

Was here for breakfast before & amazing, went full on with a filet cooked a perfect medium, very tender, although taste was just ok not really popping out, but adding the shrimp were very tasty, even the different potato fingers were tasty grilled with the nice sweet tasting onions. Once again the triple shot non-fat mocha with almond syrup (hardly anyone carries anymore but they do) complimented the meal with the pure tasting water. And even started my meal with a shot of Suntory Toki Whiskey, something not carried by most bars. Greeted up front very warm & welcoming, and server Holly was fantastic, nice to spoil myself every now and then and have a great experience & beautiful view of the sound & Olympics...

Delicious food with a lovely view. We had a great time at the waterfront restaurant at Alderbrook after a lovely massage at their spa. The service was timely and generally very good. I do have to comment that they add an automatic 20% service charge. While generally we had great service, there were exceptions. All in all great good with fair prices.

Went here for my wife's birthday. It is a beautiful setting on the water. It is very clean and nice. We dressed up for the occasion as this is a nicer restaurant. If you have kids, they tend to put you in the back corner overlooking the other patio restaurant that doesn't have that great of a view. The staff there are very nice and accommodating. They were very attentive at refilling our water. I do wish that our son could've stayed in his stroller as he was sleeping although they told us that he couldn't because they didn't have room for it. When we got to the table, they definitely would've been plenty of room out of the way for him to sleep in the stroller. We started with the Manila clams, which are featured in the picture attached to this review. The clams were probably the best thing we ordered. They came with sausage and other things like cherry tomatoes, and rosemary. We really enjoyed our drinks. I ordered the Huckleberry lemon drop martini which was delicious. My daughter ordered the lavender lemonade that she enjoyed. For our main course, my wife ordered halibut with a side of filet mignon. My daughter ordered the New York steak with mashed potatoes. I ordered the garlic pasta with chicken. They don't put a protein on the pasta that is an additional add on which makes it even more expensive. All of the food was not hot and barely warm. There seem to be a leg in between our appetizer and the main course. They brought all the food out except for my daughter's food and they had to go back for it. My daughter was looking forward to the mashed potatoes and she said they weren't good at all. I enjoyed my garlic pasta, although the day after I'm not feeling good given that it has so much garlic that my stomach cannot handle it. It was disappointing that for how much we paid the food wasn't warm and it could've been better. We were not able to stay for dessert as our toddler was struggling and we didn't want to disturb other guests, although we did want to try the s'mores torte. My wife mentioned that other people received a cupcake for their birthday, although she didn't get hers. They were aware of her birthday as I had mentioned it in the reservation. It's definitely not worth it for the price and it's really difficult to bring kids there. The location is beautiful and I enjoy the hood canal.

Our overall experience was great. Especially the view and the service. Some of our food matched that quality and some did not. The Halibut was a wonderful dish, cooked beautifully and well seasoned. My friend who ordered the ribeye was impressed with the cook. Very hard to get right in a restaurant. The bolognese was pretty good, but more tomato and ricotta than meat. The fried oysters were tender and crunchy, but almost no sauce on the plate. Disappointing. The ceasar salad had a quality white anchovy, but almost no flavor or dressing beyond that. A bowl of crispy romaine. The duck entree had great accompaniments in the beans and frisee. However, the duck itself had flabby skin and a 1/3" layer of fat I had to cut off. Additionally, it wasn't seasoned. The ice cream was very light and airy, and light on flavor as well. A shame the food didn't all measure up, but with that view and great service we still had a lovely evening.

What a great place for a late lunch on the water…read more The outdoor seating areas welcomed dogs and at least half the tables have shade umbrellas. All just off the waters of Hood Canal. During our meal we watched Caspian terns dive bomb on searun cutthroat trout in the waters in front of us. We saw seals feeding on those fish, too. (The trout were feeding on salmon fry in the shallow shoreline waters). And we saw great blue herons on the shoreline and roosting in the tall Doug firs across the road. But onto the restaurant. The menu is varied and impressive. We had the bacon-and-shrimp tacos and the smoked trout and baguette. Everything was perfectly cooked with a clean, appetizing presentation. When (not if) we go back, we'll definitely get at least one order of the bacon-shrimp tacos to share (it comes as two generous tacos) and then add something new. Beverage wise, H&F offers a great selection of beers, cider, wine, and cocktails. All in all, this is a new NW favorite.

The outdoor area is also dog friendly and you can walk around the marina or take a look at the neighboring gift shop. The food may seem a little pricey at first, but the quality is there. It is fresh. It is flavorful, and it is delicious. Parking can be a little bit of a pain, especially during the busy times.

The seating can be large groups or you can sit at the counter near the open kitchen area. That would be my selection as you can watch some of the chefs prep the food fresh in front of you. There is a lot of things to order and I really couldn't decide. The one thing I knew was that I wanted to get seafood since I remember seafood being really good and fresh in Seattle. Which is why I ended up purchasing the Seafood basket. Originally I wanted to just get this as an appetizer and order something else after but this was definitely enough. The server was helpful in putting my order and also happened to be the same one that prepped my food. The pacific oysters were really good and probably even one of the best pacific oysters I've had since they were really fresh. Immediately right when I was done, he served me the rest of my food which was the clams & mussels. Those were really good and not too salty. I felt like I needed something a little extra for it so I was able to order a cheesy garlic bread to compliment the dish, as well as soak up the sauce. Definitely a great experience and I'd suggest this to anyone that likes seafood as they have a huge selection and can't really go wrong.

Imagine my surprise when we pulled into this place. The parking was plentiful, but it was almost full! Hmmm must be a popular place! It is an outdoor area with a food truck, a gift shop, and their restaurant. I've never been to a place like this. Very unique and I'd say a must visit if you're in the area and you like seafood. You can order food from the food truck and get drinks while you wait. We went with some fried oysters and white wine and a cola made in Seattle. Everything was delicious! We were pleasantly surprised that the oysters came with yummy, perfect French fries too! Our buzzer went off and our table was ready. We ordered 2 dozen raw oysters, seafood chowder, clams and a baguette. Everything was so good. The FRESHEST oysters I've ever eaten. There was a variety of oysters, some smaller than others, but they were delicious. Idk if I can ever eat raw oysters ever again. This is the place if you like raw oysters. Must come back and bring my husband!

Companies such as Washington State Seafood located in Seabeck, WA over by the coast far away from the typical more populated cities in the Puget Sound have gotten creative with their selling methods. Off to the social media they went! In my case, I discovered them via an ad in Facebook. To facilitate distribution, WSS sets up different distribution "pick up" locations throughout the West Coast, primarily around state of WA, but recently extended to CA also. They also have mailing options too. The menus vary by date, pick up vs. mailing, depending on the availability and viable logistics. Thus far, I have had generic "shooters" oysters (that was the name on the website) and most recently had the Samish Pearls. I also placed an order for Purple Mountain shooters at a super duper deal of only $7.50 for a dozen! It's labeled as a 2 hour Bonus buy on the website. Score! The pickup process is very easy. Go to the location they identify (not always the same but somewhere in Seattle), give them your order number (name works too but they prefer the order number), they hand you the oysters in those stretchy mesh bags commonly used for seafood. You should bring a cooler or anything with an ice pack with you. At home, we use a shucking knife. Watch YouTube and learning to shuck to optimize your oyster eating experience. The most optimal way to shuck, we learned, is to wiggle the knife deep from one end to the next before lifting - preserving the briny water as much as possible! The taste - my oh my - it's SO FRESH! You're tasting the sea (in a good way) with every slurp of an oyster. Side note: We're simple when it comes to sauce, a squirt of fresh lemon juice and a squirt of tabasco sauce.
