There is a nice curve at the entrance that will do a lot to help slow people down. There is very little cover so if it's hot, you're not going to find shade for a nap. I did not see any signs prohibiting overnight parking so if you're tired, don't drive sleepy and stop here. We did not go inside for the restrooms. This stop is about 2 hours before making your way into the "BIG D" Dallas, Tx. At this location they have restrooms for use that are clean and hand washing areas with soap and also have vending machines to pick up those last minute drinks and snacks. They have a lot of TX themed things to show and educate to the non Texas people about how beautiful our state is and they also provide a nice Texas Sized map to show the different regions and areas that compromise the Great State of Texas. They have benches to sit on and rest along with picnic tables with plenty of big Texas sized trees for shade. What I found cool was the nature trails they have. If you go behind the restrooms and pavilion you will find a sign telling you where the nature trails are located. It is these trails located about a 3 minute walk where you can walk into nature and cross bridges in the woods but still clearly see the freeway in eye distance. I guess its a good thing to walk if you have clearly been on the road all day trying to get out of Tx and your eyes are tired of focusing on the road all day, or maybe your destination is close ahead but just like to enjoy that Tx heat and what the state has to offer. The restrooms didn't disappoint however... We walked over to the breakfast sandwich area and not one biscuit, burrito or croissant, not one. The whole area was empty like it was shit down. Keep in mind it was 6am. We walked over to the pastry area where there were several people standing around. The lady at pastry yells over, you got any sandwiches ready? The guy lets out a sigh, reaches in a warming area under the counter and tosses up 6 biscuits and 6 burritos. He brings out a tray of croissants and starts putting them together like he's got all day. I literally had time to walk over to the clothes area, pick my niece out a buck-ee costume and walk back and the guy still hadn't wrapped one croissant sandwich. When he finally wrapped the first sandwich, my husband asked to take that one and the guy said, they'll be up on the hot bar I. A few minutes. The guy literally wrapped every single croissant sandwich and laid them on the counter next to him before putting even one on the hot bar. I don't know who was in charge of that morning shift but I'm guessing no one. Who knows how much business they lost and people they pissed off prior to 6am but I guess no one cared.
