A Basic Rest Stop - No Frills…read more SITREP This was actually the least interesting of all the rest stops we hit on our I-15 North to I-90 West trek. THE SETUP Located in Borax, MT (god, I actually hope no one lives here), this no frills rest stop was just basically a "Sh*t & Go!" A profound diminishment of all the other rest stops we had hit coming north on I-15 through Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and now Montana. For example, every rest stop we hit in Utah was amazingly clean, had all sorts of bulletin boards up, exhibits of points-of-interest to go to, lots of pamphlets to take with you, etc. This stop had diddly-squat. DIMINISHED STANDARDS It could be, though, that this was just the a changing of the standard since we were now switching over from I-15 North to I-90 West going into the panhandle of Idaho. Perhaps it was a "changing of the guard" and the I-90 maintenance infrastructure is no where near as nice as the I-15 infrastructure. (I just pulled that hypothesis outta my ass, but I'm gonna run with it.) ;) THE LOWDOWN Your basic, no frills, totally unexciting rest stop.

He said he had one that he would give me. I politely declined, but thought to myself, "The people out here are so nice." Then I started getting creeped out about the whole thing. Do I really need to explain why friendly conversation with a dude at a rest stop creeps me out? Also, I think he might have seen my junk at the urinal earlier. Anyways, the dude is still kind of watching me, and then a big ass bee gets in my face. I tried backing away from it, but it just kept coming, and I ended up jogging to my car while swatting around in the air at it. It almost got in my car, but I peeled out a little and got the fuck back on I-90. If I were to do it all again, I'd pee in a Powerade bottle in my car.

Even so it was clean, comfortable and quiet. My second favorite about the room: water pressure! Yes, this hotel had water pressure that allowed you to actually feel like you were taking a shower. Don't fear using the soap as this water can actually clean the oily soap film from your skin. Most hotels I've stayed at recently cannot say that. I am normally a 3 star guy with this chain but I am using this one to a 4. Once they get the new decor and mattresses in place then I think this will be on of the more comfortable locations in the chain to stay at.

The carpet was damp when we walked in, and we had assumed it had been shampooed or something similar during the cleaning. The sheets were also damp, which we assumed was humidity. We woke up in the morning completely dampened from the sheets. The biggest issue was safety-related, as the ambient humidity in the room was so high that the tiles were slippery and we almost fell several times while packing up to leave. If it had been someone with less balance, it could have resulted in serious injuries. The breakfast was a pretty standard Wyndham breakfast, but the cereal dispenser was labeled with "Gluten-Free Cheerios" but instead had Froot Loops. For those unfamiliar with celiac disease, any cross contamination with gluten can cause permanent damage to someone's small intestine, including but not limited to intestinal cancer. Good thing I grew up knowing what Cheerios and Froot Loops looked like otherwise that could have been rough!

Our overnight stay was pleasant and quiet. We had seen a billboard on the interstate earlier in the day hyping their WiFi and waffles. The wifi worked very well and we had our choice of two types of waffle mix along with a pair of irons to make them for breakfast. The waffles were good but not great. A little soggy for my taste but perhaps their recommended cooking time is conservative to prevent burnt waffles. Parking is in a large somewhat shared lot with our businesses but no problem finding a space. The hotel location is right next to the interstate and a little noisy but not bothersome.

I called my third-party provider when they would call the hotel, they will tell them the priceline agent that the manager isnt there that i should call in 2 hours this was ongoing for 5 days. I kept calling priceline until they get a hold of the hotel until they got a hold of the manager. When they called the hotel and got hold of the front desk lady and she had to call the manager who wasnt in and he had approve the for me to get the refund but will penalize $7 for some reason; i called the hotel back to ask why i was penalized and she explained to why and it didn't make sense. Next days come and i called priceline again to get approval to refund me; now the manager is declining the refund. This is by far the worst and corrupt hotel ive ever experienced if there was a 0 star i would've chose that. We played back a fourth of days an employee tell one thing and the "manager" telling me the other what a joke of a hotel. Will never visit this location again, and you should stay away or book at the other location in Sioux Falls!!!!!

The staff forces you to provide a card for "damages" even when the room is already paid for ahead of time normally my experience is if there was an issue they'd bill the card they had but I don't know what they are doing here I just hope my $50 gets back to me. We can't forget that the breakfast area has a food service license hanging that is long since expired , or the fact that the fitness center is closed for good but they don't list that on the booking, sites , if you have problems or need help good luck, English isn't their first language and I get it but when you're quick to rush people vs help them it's just not a good experience. Also over the weekend the staff were almost non existent. I'm also thinking this hotel isn't in the safest area since everyone we came back to the room police cars were near by. Doesn't help there is an abandoned restaurant next door and a run down studio appartement that was likely an old motel behind it, they also have NO HOT TUB and there is no in room coffee... Too bad because all the rest of the little TV parks for hwy stops are sketch. I most certainly wouldnt test their competence of reservations again.
