The only reason I'm giving this hotel even two stars is because of the kind older woman working the…read morefront desk when I first checked in. Unfortunately, everything after that was a complete disappointment. I originally booked this stay for my daughter's birthday, thinking the kids could enjoy swimming and using the slide. (the main reason was the slide) When we arrived, the room wasn't ready, the pool was closed, and the slide was shut down--not what we were expecting. As we entered our room, we immediately noticed what looked like dried soda splashed across the entry door. Once inside, the countertop had visible coffee stains. The bathroom door was marked with both makeup and pen stains, and when I opened it, I found two unfolded towels on the rack--both covered in what appeared to be makeup, as if someone had just wiped their face with them. The walls throughout the room were filthy, and when I pulled back the curtains, I found someone else's beer cans in the windowsill and beer tabs in the window track. I then moved two chairs to make some room and it was clear the area hadn't been vacuumed in quite some time. I ended up going and purchasing my own cleaning supplies because I didn't have the time or energy to deal with the front desk at that point. Later, when we went down to the pool, we were expecting to relax in the hot tub which ended up being an ice bath. We asked when the slide would open--something the front desk had said would happen "shortly"--but it never opened during our entire stay. Ironically, the kiddie pool was significantly warmer than the hot tub. This visit was a total letdown. I've stayed at this hotel for years, but sadly, it seems to get worse with each visit. when I went to check out, I asked for the money back for the two extra wristbands that I had purchased for the pool since half of my party didn't swim because of the total disappointment in the freezing hot tub and broke down slide. They couldn't refund my purchase for my two wristbands, but

Over priced rooms. I booked a suite that was to sleep 5. The room was called a King suite. What I ended up getting when I checked in was two adjoining rooms. That's not a suite! For $300 a night, I expected a lot more. Signage was awful...hard to find elevators and for someone with mobility issues, that's a problem walking down endless corridors looking for an elevator. Lastly, the one room had no smoke detector hooked up....just wires hanging down from the ceiling. I don't think that's even legal to rent a room like that. if I were you, I would look elsewhere to stay.

We were coming in for a wedding and encouraged other guests to book here too. It is easy to get to and from the airport. We took an uber (short drive) but the hotel does have a shuttle if you arrange it. We learned that lyft has more drivers than uber in this area if that is helpful to anyone. Things we loved: - the add on during booking was worth it (strawberries and champagne) - the kitchenette area is not tiny - I love the non slip floor in the bathroom and shower. The look of it and the functionality. please link me, I need this floor at home! - mattress comfy - very clean rooms, robes presented on beds very nice touch. - dimming lights Staff are nice and they have a little coffee breakfast nook with goodies by front desk as well. This location is very walkable to go get a burger or breakfast sandwich down the street too. Super bonus is the treasury restaurant inside the hotel through the safe door. We are suckers for history and a swanky atmosphere. I wouldn't want to park here - it is a tight lot. Even the Ubers and Lyfts have trouble getting in and out because it is narrow. I mean people do, I just personally would not. Thanks for the wonderful stay. If we have to come back to Sioux Falls we won't be staying anywhere else but here.

We didnt know they had a shuttle service which made things so much more convenient. My hubs coordinated with the hotel and they had our room decorated with rose petals and NA champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a small cake in the fridge waiting for us. It was so cute! The only gripping we had was not having a closet to store our things for the weekend but other than that the room was great and our bed was extremely comfortable, like a nice toasty cloud.

This was the best part of this crap show. Management is a joke and starts fights with clients. Do not set yourself up for the aggravation.

When I first booked this hotel, it was with a lot of mixed thoughts. Websites such as Expedia,…read moretravelocity, and Hotels.com gave this hotel a high rating (8.5) but Yelp did not. Yelp is an honest opinion from customers that money or business cannot influence. After a lot of thought I went ahead and booked a room for the night but did it with apprehension. (After all, you get what you pay for.) Well. . . I think it was the nicest hotel we have stayed in on our trip so far (3 hotels and counting). There is some wear and tear on the building. Most of that was evidenced in the hallways with the carpets looking kind of faded/dingy. Walls needed a new coat of paint, or repair due to slight bulging in areas, etc. The room we stayed in was very nice. The beds were comfortable and clean. There were several large bath towels in the bathroom and it was decorated with dark browns and greens. It looked like it had been updated not too long ago. The water in the shower was nice and hot. We did not use the pool area but it looked like fun. There were play structures in the wading pool section and a 2 story slide sticking out of the building. It isn't far off the freeway, and it is close to the airport. Now for the bad: When we checked in, the counter person was friendly, but she REALLY NEEDED HELP! There was a constant stream of people wanting to check in and the phone was ringing off the hook. We got our room key and when we walked in, we realized someone else was already checked in. There was luggage on the table and chairs. We went back downstairs and the poor girl had to figure out what had happened. (While answering phones and checking in a long line of people). She gave us another room and ran up herself to make sure it was ok. We dropped off our luggage and as we were leaving for dinner, someone who checked in after us was sitting on the luggage cart out in the hall. She said they were given the keys but the room still had unmade beds and wet towels on the floor. We checked in at 7 PM. There was no excuse for this. I used to work in the hotel business and know that we would leave the room which needed to be serviced, open. As we walked down the hall, there were several rooms that were open and garbage bags were left in the hallways. This all was the worst of the stay. There were other cosmetic type of thing such as rust on the towel rack next to the shower. And we couldn't get the TV to work. The breakfast menu was average with biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, muffins, cereal, and juices or milk to drink. I loved the way the breakfast room was decorated!
