    Clean rest room
    Dianna B.

Nice, safe, clean rest area. As a woman who travels frequently, I don't have a problem stopping at Georgia's rest areas because they are almost always guarded and maintained quite well.

Officially designated as "Rest Area No. 13 Northbound," it's one of the older of rest areas and as such, clearly showing its age. The restrooms are clean, but showing age, and for anything to nibble on or drink, has a few vending machines, the kind of which offer rather little in selection. The one redeeming feature of this rest stop is that he does have picnic like areas in which, if you have a lunch packed, provide rather comfortable places to eat.

Beautifully maintained grounds and facility and pet friendly. Picnic areas and manicured lawns make this rest stop a five star.

This is a decent rest area on Interstate 75. It has the usual vending machines and was relatively well maintained at least on my visit.

Stopped in to use the restroom on a road trip. Restrooms were clean and it was super easy to get in and out. So appreciated.

It's a rest area with parking for cars, bathrooms for peeing... And trees for dogs to mark. No frills southern Georgia pit stop.

While I understand businesses may ask questions about service animals, the way this was handled was incredibly unprofessional. Krysta loudly questioned me in front of other customers and began reading questions from a paper about what tasks my dog performs. When I tried to explain that I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), she was dismissive and laughed, which was humiliating and embarrassing. Not all disabilities are visible. I felt singled out, judged, and treated with a lack of respect simply because I do not "look disabled." My dog was clearly identified as a service animal, and I even offered proof when questioned. What upset me most was not being asked a question, but the rude and public manner in which I was treated. No customer should be made to feel embarrassed because of a disability. Unfortunately, after this experience, I do not plan on returning.

It's very easy to access with smooth on and off ramps, making it a stress-free break from the highway. Parking is thoughtfully organized: cars park closest to the main building near the highway, while trucks and vehicles with trailers have dedicated spaces on the other side. This layout keeps everything flowing smoothly and reduces congestion. The rest area has an open, airy design with a central breezeway. Restrooms are conveniently split -- men's on one side and women's on the other -- and were clean and well-maintained during our visit. Vending machines are located right in the breezeway for quick snacks and drinks. Outside, there are several covered picnic tables to the side of the main building, perfect for stretching your legs or enjoying a meal in nicer weather. Overall, this is a nice, functional rest area that provides travelers with everything needed for a quick, comfortable stop. It's clean, safe, and convenient -- exactly what you want when you're on the road. Whether you need a bathroom break, a place to walk the dog, or just a few minutes to relax, the Ashburn Northbound Rest Area delivers. Highly recommended for anyone traveling I-75 through Georgia.

So I always have my adult sons standing nearby to ensure safety especially when traveling at night or the wee hours of the morning.

It's a spacious area, good for throwing the ball and getting a couple of run-arounds in before your trip continues. The park is fenced in with a double-closed gate to be able to unleash your dog safely. There are places for the humans to sit too, and there are usually doggie waste bags available (although, if you're traveling with your dog... you probably have some!). The store is clean, as are the restrooms. And the gas prices are on par - you're not getting gouged which is refreshing, considering the super easy off/on location. Some thoughtful human put a loose roll next to the toilet but it was almost empty. Unless you have go go gadget arms, its impossible to reach the toilet paper holder. Today we chose a table in a different spot since it was the first one we saw available. Adjacent to that table was a handicap ramp for you to reach the restroom area. Due to settling (I assume) there was a significant inference in height of the end of the ramp and the sidewalk it was connected to. Resulting in my Mother-in-law tripping on the unexpected lip of the sidewalk causing her to fall and nearly hit her head on the nearby concrete bench of the picnic table. While the ramp is much newer than the rest of the sidewalk and concrete picnic tables, it is old enough that there is no excuse that this DANGEROUS HAZARD is not marked to prevent similar and potentially more serious accidents! It was also disappointing that the vending machines were mostly empty of drinks other than sodas and water. On our next trip I might consider bypassing this location and stopping at the next one instead.

A decent rest area for Northbound I-475 travellers in Bibb County…read moreThis rest area is on I-475 northbound (the bypass around the west side of Macon). It is a decent stop for travelers going north on I-75. It was very easy to get off and back on the interstate, which I always appreciate. The layout is similar to other Georgia rest areas I've used along I-75 northbound. Car parking is right by the main road closest to the building, while truck parking is on the other side and the building and its land is sandwiched between them. There is a fair amount of trees and shade, and several covered picnic tables outside, which is nice if you want to stretch your legs or eat something. The building itself is clean and well-maintained. The restrooms were in good condition and the whole area seemed safe. It's not fancy, but it's a solid, functional stop when you need a break from driving. Compared to some of the other rest areas I've visited on I-75 northbound in Georgia, this one is about average, nothing special but definitely better than some of the older ones. It does its job well and provides a convenient place to stop for a comfort break. I would recommend this rest area to other travelers going north on I-75 through the Macon area when you need a quick, clean break from the road.
