It was totally without intent that I booked with Susan, but so very pleased that I did. Her work is quite frankly exceptional. I went with a specific issue, gave Susan my history, information from my doctor and she got to work. I was so impressed with my initial visit that I booked another appointment for two weeks later. Since then, I have been going every other week, my doctor has seen a noticeable difference in my condition. Thrilled that Susan listened and had the expertise to help. Clearly her education and experience go beyond what one might consider in a traditional masseuse. It's interesting as the patient, to tell her what's going on, see how she approaches the situation and works the problem. She totally gets how everything is totally interrelated. She has been totally engaged in tracking my progress and receiving the feedback from my doctor. Office is clean, bright, COVID friendly and I am always seen on time.

UPDATE 7/30/25: I've seen several therapists at Halcyon Bodyworks and ALL of them have been…read moreamazing. I recently saw Crystal for a SARGA massage and it was soooo good! As someone who's received rolfing for close to 30 years, this form of myofascial release massage was a wonderful blend of rolfing and massage. I could feel my fascia release several times throughout the massage and I'm excited to regularly incorporate this type of therapy into my massage treatments! I also saw Isata recently for a craniosacral massage and it was also amazing! It was so good that while I was on the table I thought to myself I must have paid for a 90 minute massage because it felt like I had been there for that long, but it was only 60 minutes! Lol. I've been struggling with neck and head tension that's affecting cranial nerves and this massage definitely helped. Headed back this weekend for a follow up! 2023: I went to see Sam when I was having serious shoulder and neck tightness that was causing tension headaches. She was great! She used the perfect amount of pressure and deep tissue therapy while also not making it too painful. A skill that is sometimes hard to come by. She is one of the better massage therapists I've seen in my 25 years of getting regular massage. I was stunned to learn she's only been doing massage for a couple years. A true intuitive natural body worker!! I'll definitely being seeing her again!

Space is lovely, very beautiful decor, but for true spa, it's a bit too small to really enjoy it as a facility. I would have liked to have stayed a while and enjoyed the beauty of it, but the layout didn't really allow for it. Staff is amazing though. Haven't tried them for a massage yet, but for a head spa, it was nice, but nothing that blew my mind.

She did a fine job, but left out some steps (like the add-on that I paid for online before the appointment and the hand and arm massage). I have a feeling she ran out of time. But when I signed up for the facial online, it was allotted for an hour and a half. But she finished in an hour. When I asked her about the add-on, she was unaware of it and admitted that she "did not check (her) notes" before my appointment. That is probably something I wouldn't admit to the client. And I found it odd that I filled out an intake form online and then had to fill out another (paper) intake upon arrival. And while the esthetician did an ok job, she needs to finesse her massage technique. I am former licensed massage therapist and wanted to coach her on some simple and effective massage techniques. Her massage strokes were incomplete and her hands felt a little clumsy. But I feel she will get there, in time, as she gains more confidence with each client. Otherwise, it's a peaceful and well-curated space - a lovely oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Bend. I will definitely be back for the Japanese scalp treatment!
