So I waited....and waited...then waited some more. Everyone knows that January 1st is a holiday. A Zoom link, should have been delivered December 31, 2024 or at the very latest, the morning of, 15 minutes before the appointment. Instead, I send an email last night requesting the link, no reply. This morning, frantically i might add, I call 5 or 6 times, leave messages, sent one or two emails, not including the one I sent last night requesting the Zoom link. I was not delivered a link until 10:41am! That's no way to begin a tense discussion with the parties involved. It really set a negative tone for the mediation. I was agitated through out, it was a colossal waste of time! Rhetorically I wonder... "Could I have received a professional, productive, and a positive experience had this been a mediation that was paid for by the parties involved, as opposed to a free service?" Free is not free when it costs peace of mind. P.S. The reviews on this page read more like advertisements than personal experience based on service or lack thereof.

Ms. McNew, through deceptive accounting on the Probate case, was able to cover up a nefarious transaction with Court approval, commit unethical mail fraud against my ex-wife, commit unethical pre-inheritance Gifting to one heir alone, and grossly undervalue and misreport asset values purposefully. I have evidence to support all of these claims. I have also reported Ms. McNew to the Center for Guardianship Certification organization for a formal review of her misconduct and illegal actions - and possible revocation of her certification. According to their website, the organization is a "worker-led organization that empowers diverse day laborers and immigrants to improve their working conditions and protect civil rights through leadership development, organizing, education and economic opportunity." With the political instability we're facing these days when it comes to immigration, organizations like Voz help the folks who need it most. Spring has sprung and there's lots to do around the house. Instead of toiling with entitled gig workers on some of the more popular apps, check out the Voz website and let the folks there know what your needs are. The website has clearly defined rates for various home and garden tasks; everything from weeding and mowing, to more involved projects like drywall and tile work. While Voz helps partner you with available workers, and suggests a suitable rate of pay, all financial transactions are done with the worker directly. Most prefer being paid in cash, so have some paper currency available. I've hired folks to help me move, do garden work, and other heavy-lifting around the house. In fact, just this week I've been working with Jerry - an absolute Voz ROCKSTAR - who has been painting up a storm. I'm helping him out with some dependable work, and he's giving my home the glow-up it desperately needs. What I love most about Voz is they help bring so many wonderful people into my life. I've learned about some of the issues affecting undocumented workers, their life stories, and found ways I can help make a difference in their lives. Working with Voz is definitely a win-win situation.

All the workers we were assigned were very friendly, focused, smart in their work, and a pleasure to engage with. They were very professional. The third was a disaster and there was no support from the office when the worker would not communicate to us and wanted the office. We were really counting on the assistance today instead of the worker not being able to reach the office and leaving without closing front door, let our dogs out. We had to search for our dogs around the neighborhood when we're trying to move across country a few days from now for an emergency medical move, we are seniors. They may be hit-or-miss or not always reliable. Best to not assume consistency. Still awesome people and a fantastic organization worth supporting.

They are there for me when I am…read morein a position to not afford proper health care coverage but also when I have it and am able to donate to support the good that they do. I have been utilizing Pivot's services since I first moved to Portland and while sometimes their free clinic hours can be crazy town they do the best they can with the resources they have available and still seem to pull off a pretty great thing. So here's the deal, you have to show up early because sometimes there is even a line before the door opens. They set aside the proper amount of time for each testing/screening so it's about 4 per hour. They have 2 screeners so if you are number 8 expect to be there for up to two hours. I believe they can only do 3 hours of testing so they do have a cut off and have to turn some folks away typically. This can not be easy for them as they know this service is needed so be kind in your reactions and patient with you time. I am not going to list the free screen days/times as they may change but do visit their website for the latest info and note that the location has changed to SE Belmont. The new space is beautiful, great retro building, clean new facilities and set up for exactly what they are offering. The acoustics however are less than ideal for both staff and patient so be respectful and quiet when appropriate. Check in is supposed to be anonymous and private but the layout of the lobby hinders most of that. Some reviews have listed poor services or bad customer service. I am sure the staff rotates over the years and I have been fortunate to have nothing but kind and wonderful people to help me. Pro tip: if you just need a rapid HIV test screening they can usually do those throughout the evening as they are done separate from the full screenings. I HIGHLY recommend utilizing their services if you need them or want to support them. This is a separate service from the clinic it is in so make sure to thank the staff or give them a hug for doing what they do on volunteer hours.

We took a tour (along with others who joined us) that was as informative as it was interesting. We saw some of the kennel areas, the outside runs, and a trainer or two who were working with recently returned dogs now learning to be guides for blind people. The staff and volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly, encouraging all of us to ask questions. It is a beautiful campus - clean, well-appointed, beautiful landscaping, and easily navigated by people with walkers and wheelchairs. Although we weren't there on graduation day, if you've never been to a Guide Dog graduation where the blind people "graduate" and get ready to go home with their new guide dogs, I encourage you to go. Graduations are held every few weeks on Saturdays and are free to attend. (I can't believe I didn't take more photos! I guess I was so enchanted with this facility that it completely skipped my mind.)

Just another reason why a donation to this organization would be welcomed and would go a long way. This is my second graduation ceremony at the Boring campus. It's a great little event and visitors are welcomed for this or a short tour. So, if you'd like to see some good work in action, go to a graduation ceremony, held the second and fourth Saturday of every month. It will really open up your eyes to what these little dogs can do.

Saturday night I was at their benefit at the Nines Hotel, and I got a peek into what they are doing for our Portland Queer community. One stuck out to me, and I'll just have to quote it: "Q Center has held a 'high school' prom in the past for those people who were not able to attend with the person they cared about." Just so you understand- this means back in the 60s and 70s when there wasn't as much freedom. The image of these freed individuals dancing to classics and smiling, finally, brings a smile to my face. No matter your orientation, beliefs or political standpoint- everyone can agree that seeing a room of love can only be beautiful. The staff at Q Center only brings this flow of love, and the patrons who represent and support them return it with a big smile. They offer everything from abuse resources, to transsexual support, to a person first coming out. They also stand for the women and have a very strong back bone in the feminist community. I want to start off by saying thank you to Daydrina MA for helping me through the first part of the appointment! I have a lot of anxiety around visiting doctors after some bad experiences medically and she made sure to make me feel like I did not need to apologize and also let me swab my own nose for the covid test(which causes me extreme panic from a past nurse shoving it WAY too deep up my nose, so that was beyond relieving for me as a patient), I cannot thank her enough for that. Carrie Kent D.O. Was my provider and went above & beyond in explaining to me how to properly care for myself as this virus runs its course. I was able to get a doctors note, and am going back in today actually at 9:40AM for another check in because symptoms have worsened. The wait time was not long and the process to get booked was straight forward. Y'all have no idea how relieving it has been to have a good medical experience after being scared to visit a regular doctor for YEARS due to chronic pain from an unnecessarily traumatic surgery done around 5 years ago. Long story long, I appreciate the staff here and am considering keeping Carrie Kent D.O. on as my primary care physician as I have recently been put on Oregon Health Plan and need to start taking care of my body! Thanks again, if anyone is stressed about going in, please don't hesitate getting the help you need, I get more stressed trying to figure out what's wrong with me online so it was nice to have a medical professional give me solid advice and I'm excited to go back in the next half hour to continue care. These people are very kind, empathetic and good peopleThanks for y'all's help. (ADDED) I just got home from my appointment this morning and am feeling a lot more comfortable. Dr. Kent was very thorough and helped explain everything even what I felt like were the silly questions! Daydrina took my blood and helped me be calm through that process Dianne I have a lot of anxiety around that process. She also made sure I got my blood sugar up with crackers and juice before drawing the blood which was super sweet and helpful. I will be going back later today to fill my Ibuprofen prescription which is also covered by OHP. Please go get the help you need, don't be scared away from this place by the outside appearance:) the art and graffiti just add to how rad this place is in my opinion. Also Eberheardt was super kind in letting me take a photo of the front desk for this review along with grabbing a few masks and at home covid test to take with me.
