They never give up on a veteran or a dog and the training is done in a unique way. They go above and beyond for their pack members. I called many places who turned me down because I have a German Shepherd, but K9k took us and we have been happily a part of the pack for 4 years now. If you meet the criteria to join the program it is free for disabled veterans. Without K9 Kavalry I would be lost and my dog would not be a service dog. I am grateful to this nonprofit everyday. Not only because of the help training my dog, but because of the camaraderie between all the veterans. The support they offer and what they give the dogs and the veterans is unparalleled and exceeds every other program I have personally looked into and seen. I highly recommend K9 Kavalry to any disabled veteran who has a dog they want to train themselves to be a service dog. They offer trainers to help with the training so the veteran is never alone. They operate off of donations from donors and not money from the veterans themselves. However, this is well beyond a free is for me sort of program. The training offered and the assistance given to both the veteran and the dog is much more than a price tag. It's not just a community or place to train a dog, it's a community for disabled veterans and a support system for both in every way. I absolutely love that they have always gone above and beyond for everyone who has been a member and I will continue to be a part of this program for as long as I have a dog. This isn't just a place that gives you a dog that is trained and it involves work on the veteran/owners part, but they will always have the support of the nonprofit to aide them with anything they need. Most places count out certain breeds and dogs based off behaviors months into training, but K9k will continue to work with the dog and the veteran for as long as both are willing to put in the work. I'm more grateful to this program and nonprofit than words can express and I can't wait to see it continue to grow in the future to continue making positive changes for the veteran community even beyond just disabled veterans and the challenges they and our service dogs face.

The cafe sits on a busy corner on NE Glisan and is a newer structure with lots of windows. The person waiting on me benefited from their barista training program. They were friendly and served as a great ambassador for their overall mission. The prices were competitive and their baked goods were tasty. I didn't realize until I was leaving, but they also have breakfast items. That will be for next time! They have a clean and accessible restroom and parking was not a problem. It's also conveniently located on a bus line. I will definitely return and support their mission.

Their official grand opening is in early June, but the innovative space has opened its doors to local businesses for a soft launch in the North Montavilla neighborhood. I love the concept behind Stone Soup and I strongly believe in their mission of "building economic stability for people experiencing barriers to employment." They've been operating for several years in another location, and already have a strong track record of changing lives. This Montavilla location allows their trainees experience with public-facing food service in a cafe setting, serving a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options - in addition to coffee and tea. There was a limited menu available during the soft launch today, but I thoroughly enjoyed my slice of banana cake with cream cheese frosting, as well as a steaming cup of fresh coffee. The interior space offers bar and table seating, and visitors will find even more seating outside. The cafe is a cornerstone business on the first floor of the new Glisan Landing residential complex, and it marks the beginning of a new age of development in this part of Portland. Three cheers for making a positive impact in the community, thank you!

Ms. McNew, through deceptive accounting on the Probate case, was able to cover up a nefarious transaction with Court approval, commit unethical mail fraud against my ex-wife, commit unethical pre-inheritance Gifting to one heir alone, and grossly undervalue and misreport asset values purposefully. I have evidence to support all of these claims. I have also reported Ms. McNew to the Center for Guardianship Certification organization for a formal review of her misconduct and illegal actions - and possible revocation of her certification. Impact NW has been reported to the FTC and BBB as well.
