Furniture Medic - Heirloom sideboard "after"

Furniture Medic

I had an antique table that needed to be refinished and I had procrastinated this for many years…read more Always thinking that I would do it myself. Furniture medic took the table and got the huge white water stain out of. The split in the wood is gone. And the new finish is great. While still keeping the antique beauty of this piece.

My kitchen was brand new, I mean less than 2 months old when the flood happened and I was told that Furniture Medic could save my cabinets and my new quartz countertops. I took my animal for a walk and when I came back 2 hours later, my brand new kitchen cabinets were reduced to a pile of wood on the floor! Which they assured me that they could put back together. Well 3 weeks later I get a call from them indicating that my insurance company has approved their estimate and can start the work; out of curiosity I asked how much was this going to cost and the gal says" your insurance adjuster ok'd it, no problem" to wit I said, humor me. When she told me that is was going to cost $12K to fix 5 cabinets and was going to take 8 weeks to complete, I nearly hit the roof! I paid $16K for all the cabinets in my kitchen and asked them to hold off. I call my cabinet maker who indicated that he could get the cabinets made in 4 weeks and it was going to cost my $7K for brand new replacement cabinets, I went with the new cabinets. They arrive and when our installer starts to install them he finds that he can't get the cabinets in under the quartz countertops. I call Furniture Medic and they send out their manager. He tells me that I should have ordered cabinets that were shorter so that they would fit under my countertop. What the F dude, why would I order shorter cabinets than the rest of other cabinets? I just looks at me and tells me that is what they were going to do! I needed to do some chill the heck out breathing before I ask him to raise up the countertops and he tells me sorry that is not his job, I should call the company that installed them. I do, they come out, and nearly flip a lid; the countertops are not resting on anything other than little L brackets and could have fallen off at anytime. Our countertop installer looks at me and asks why I just did not call them to take off the countertops so that the cabinets could be removed?! I would have only had to replace 3 out of the 5 cabinets and could have saved both time and money! Well Furniture Medic would not have had the chance to charge me $12K that's why. Well I had to have another company come out, build 2X4 boxes to go under the countertops, so that our countertop company can come out in 2 weeks to remove the quartz countertops, so that the cabinet installer can install the cabinets and then come back out later in the day to reinstall the countertop. Furniture Medic was pretty shady, and I would never recommend them to anyone who needs to have some cabinets removed.

He said, no problem, I have a call on Wednesday at 10am, I will come after that. So, here it is Wednesday about 2pm. I text and ask if he is still coming. Nope too busy, he will come on Friday. No biggie, that's fine. Would of been nice to hear from you to let me know, but whatever. Friday comes. I text early in the morning to see if he's still coming. An hour later I get a text telling me he's broke down in Portland. okay.... so not Friday. I thought I would hear from him on Monday, at least to say he's still broken down or can/not come. Nothing. Here it is Tuesday and still nothing... So, after I posted this review, he contacted me immediately. Apparently, he was in an accident and had to be hospitalized. Hence, he couldn't make it. We ultimately did not hire him as our issue could not wait.
