When you walk in there was some construction to appear going on but I didn't think too much of it. The elevators take a long time to- but again, not a big deal. The hotel smells musty. My coworker had an issue with the AC working in their room on the 5th floor. The room felt warm, he lowered the AC and after returning from dinner said it wasn't super cool. It never fully cooled down. Also had issues with the sink not draining. I checked into a room on a the 4th floor and it smelled musty, but seemed okay. But minor tears in the wall and needed some upkeep. I came back from dinner and go into the bathroom and find a German roach crawling around the wall. I said nope, called downstairs and switched rooms. This is where I would have checked out but I couldn't leave other people I was traveling with. The next room was an accessible room on the third floor. It's had rips in the walls and some stains and needed some TLC - the musty smell way worse in this room. I thought it was just from water residue but makes me think it's probably from and infestation. Anyways, I covered all the drains in the bathroom didn't unpack anything because I was grossed out - if you see one roach there are more. Tiles were broken near the elevator and make some places feel unstable. Overall, the property needs attention but I will never return. I informed our booking agency about the issues.

This bed has to be the best Hampton bed I've had in some time( I left Marriott for the Hampton Inn beds and have never been disappointed).. ! But this trip,l this was a great bed. Good large breakfast area, fresh coffee at 5am, breakfast at 6 ish I think- and a great tall table in the middle of the eating areas with lots of seats and outlets to plug in for meetings or working outside the room. Staff was friendly and had good advise for local stuff, and they have a pantry to get drinks and snacks which is always a plus. Easy access back down to 45- then to Clear Lake ( where I like to eat most of the time) and quick to Hobby Airport as well. All seemed to work great, business office was great to get my boarding pass and again, clean , new, right up my alley and what I expect from Hilton. Highly recommend.

There's a reason as I was reminded of tonight. For a year or so they've been undergoing renovations so you'd think some of the previous poor experiences were the result of that but this stay solidifies that's not the problem. When I walked in tonight, I'm immediately hit with the smell of mildew. Mind you- the hotel was recently renovated. How would that happen? Well spending more time in the room explains it- lack of attention to the basic details. The shower curtain doesn't come all the way down into the tub so water ends up all over the floor. Safety hazard and water issue. The bathroom doesn't have a fan you can run during shower steam- and it's not that it's just quiet- the mirror fogs and a tissue held to the vent shows no movement. Hence the mold and mildew. Also for the high price, you'd think they wouldn't just have a basic shower head but instead a handheld to make that a nicer shower experience. Heck the Fairfield in across the street goes for hundreds less a week and has tiles coming up in the bathroom and they STILL have better quality and service. (They're sold out for obvious reasons.) I'm lying in bed staring at the ceiling where they left out the ring around the fire sprinkler. It's dirty like someone's been reaching up in there and why bother finishing the job, right? My iPad is dead so I turned on the tv to wind down before bed. The guide comes up and I select a rerun on channel 40. Nope. Not available. Next channel- not available. However, they only had one customer service agent in the late evening (around 9pm) at the front desk which made it take a little longer than expected to check in. Once I checked in, the room was spacious, well appointed, really nice and really clean. Overall the property was well maintained inside. Parking was a premium with self service at around $35 and valet $49 per night. I was satisfied with my stay, but I'd probably look for another property to stay at when in Houston again. There seem to be over 75 really nice hotels to stay at while in Houston. I'd like to explore another one during my next visit.

This is the first hotel I've ever been to that does not provide at least two bottles of water. Then our TV didn't work and we had to contact the front desk, but no one would answer the phone... So we had to go to the front desk and waited 10 minutes for someone to show up. She sent a maintenance person right away who did repair the TV. Apparently, the audio jack for headphones had gum in it. Fortunately, he was able to repair it and we had sound on our TV. Then we noticed that the bathroom door was made out of glass... So when we got ready to go to bed , if we left the light on in the bathroom, it kept us up all night! Why would Hyatt put glass on a door of a bathroom ? In a very dark hotel room, my wife and I will turn the bathroom light on and close the wood door so there's enough light to be able to make our way from the bed to the bathroom without falling over furniture! That is a very bad design! Also, why a bathtub ? I have not seen a bathtub in a hotel in years! and I don't know how What a slipping, tripping hazard that was! Additionally, no clocks in the room but holes in the nightstands where they used to be! Also no charging ports for your phones! Even some of the cheapest hotels have them! Finally sticking you with valet parking and giving you no choice but to use it is ridiculous! The garage looks very large... just a another way to profit! only 1 attendant too!
