With a convenient location on the south side of Poughkeepsie, plenty of free parking and good sized rooms this hotel offers good value for money. We had the two bedroom suite, which is the perfect size for a family, offering a kitchen with full size range, refrigerator and dishwasher, a dining table for four, a living room space with a fireplace and two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Plenty of space to spread out. There's also a large fireplace in the lobby lending a cozy ambiance to the large space. There is also an indoor pool, a small workout room and outdoor basketball court. Staff are helpful and friendly. There are a variety of restaurants and fast food places within walking distance and a shopping plaza anchored by a large Barnes & Noble directly across the street. The only downside is really no view although you're very close to the river. read more

I've stayed here several times for work and have had a consistent experience every time. The front desk staff is fantastic - They will go above and beyond and bend over backwards (within their power) to make you happy - Especially the amazing Daisy! The morning breakfast is nice. Don't expect anything gourmet, but they do provide a nice coffee/tea bar, assorted pastries, juices, oatmeal with lots of available toppings, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and a nice, but limited, selection of hot breakfast items (eggs, meats). The rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, dishwashers, cooktops (some rooms have ovens as well). They provide cutlery, cooking utensils, dishes, and cookware. The bathrooms have hair dryers and shampoo/conditioner/body wash/hand soap provided. I've also stayed in a couple rooms with gas fireplaces which is great for chilly nights! Within walking distance there is a convenience store, restaurants, retail, and a CVS. If you don't want to leave the property there is a little market next to the front desk for soft drinks, snacks, beer/wine, laundry detergent, and over the counter meds like Tylenol and Pepto Bismol which is very convenient! The front desk also has complimentary bottled water. They also have a coin-operated laundry room, fitness center with cardio machines, a pool, basketball court, and a quaint little BBQ area with grills and seating. The property itself needs a renovation. It's not in great condition, but not for lack of trying. Maintenance and housekeeping really seem to do their best, but they can't fix the wear and tear that is obvious. Any shortcomings on the property are made up for by the wonderful staff. read more

I've had nothing but a great experience here. Pet friendly and doesn't charge daily pet fee like other residence inns and other pet friendly hotels in the area; charges one-time flat pet fee for the whole stay. Any minor issues that I have had have all been attended to and rectified promptly. This a rather peaceful place and safe hotel to stay at, and I've been here months. They don't tolerate parties in the rooms or disruptive guests, and they don't allow door dashers or delivery people upstairs and I can really appreciate that for safety reasons. They have some mail boxes upfront for if you need to receive mail or packages there, they allow it if you're a long term guest. Staff have all been very friendly and helpful if ever I have a question or need something. read more

I've been staying at Marriotts for years. Post COVID the service and the conditions of the rooms have been less than acceptable. Our most recent stay was in Poughkeepsie. When we arrived in our room the bathroom light was not working, the sink smelled like death, the toilet seat was unhinged and the furniture was hard and uncomfortable. The Marriott used to be the industry standard. Now it's becoming just another crappy hotel. It's too bad. read more

Overall, it's a great option if you are visiting the CIA, Marist, Vassar, or Hyde Park. The rooms are quite spacious - even the studios are roomy and a 1-BR is easily the size of a Junior 1-BR in NYC - and come with a fully equipped kitchen and fridge. The hotel is very clean and the staff are great. Plus they offer a very solid hot buffet breakfast with fluffy scrambled eggs, breads, cereals, fruits, yogurts and a rotation of bacon/sausage and french tost/biscuits/waffles/pancakes that is served until 9 am on weekdays and 10 am on weekends. Our wedding party stayed here and it was perfect with tons of extra space for storing things and open spaces for gathering before heading to the venues. read more

Very nice hotel. They have a kitchen with two electric burners. Pots pans and plates available. Decent sized fridge. The bed was decently comfortable and they have a living room area. The double rooms have a bigger dining table to accommodate. The bathroom was a bit weird in the single room, with the sink being outside of the bathroom itself. A bit weird to open the door after using the facilities. There is also breakfast, though it's not of wide variety- eggs, a meat, breads, cereals. 4.5 stars but tie goes to the runner! We stayed here for the weekend while taking the kids to Legoland. If you have children, and you're on vacation, you need to stay at a Residence Inn. It has EVERYTHING you need. A kitchen, full sized fridge, dishwasher, sink, dining room table, etc. We have a 5mo and a 3.5yo so having a place to wash bottles that isn't a hotel bathroom sink is really helpful. This particular Residence Inn has a wonderful staff and amenities. The bartender Donna is an angel, I adore her. All front desk staff were fantastic, David who checked us in got us a pack n play within seconds even though I forgot to call the hotel beforehand. Wendall was super pleasant with my kids too! I really can't say anything bad about our experience. I don't think they have room service but there's a zillion places to get take out and you can use real forks, plates etc to eat off of in your own room. There is ONE thing I hope changes and that's the disposable plates and utensils in the breakfast. You have plates and real silverware in every room, why not just order some extra for the breakfast buffet? It's not easy to eat delicious waffles with a flimsy plastic fork. By the way in case anyone is wondering how to make those waffles just a little bit better, get a cup of the waffle batter and add a pump of syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Mix and use that instead of the plain batter. It makes the waffles more tender (from the sugar) and fluffy. The batter is just slightly too thick which can make waffles too crunchy and it's under seasoned which makes them bland. That last part is just me being extra. read more

This is a great hotel! The staff goes above and beyond and the room was spacious, new, comfortable, and very clean. The mattress and the shower head were awesome. I stayed at another hotel recently that used COVID as an excuse to do the bare minimum for guests. That wasn't the case at the Residence Inn. They definately didn't skimp on the grab-n-go breakfast. The pool is closed, but you can reserve a time slot at the gym, and there's a basketball half court and putting green outside, too. I learned about how detailed Marriott gets with sanitizing everything down to the curtain wands and I'm pretty impressed. This facility gave away my king sized bed reservation and put my husband and me in a Queen. It's a four night stay, and a queen bed is absolutely NOT acceptable. Sure, they have a King bed available tomorrow, but tonight, somebody sleeps on the sofa. Not okay, Marriott. Additionally, see the photos of the shower grout. First let me start by saying the good things about this place, they have a pretty good breakfast every morning they have a pool table and a pool including a Hot tub. This place is also in a very nice area as well. I came with my family for a vacation and had to deal with issues that could have been easily fixed in the hotel. My main issues were first the housekeeping staff who seemed to keep missing cleaning our suite and every time I complained there was a reason and they said it would be corrected and it was not. This happened on three different occasions and the third time I was just ignored after I complained. The next issue I had was an issue with my debit card that I used to check in when I arrived. According to their policy if I use a debit card they will authorize the nightly hotel rate plus 20 for incidentals on a daily basis. We stayed 11 nights. Upon checking in the lady at the desk named Georgia told us that we could change the card we use for payment at checkout. I asked specifically that the card I used upon checking in for deposit borne charged. Well to my surprise I checked my bank statement to find that the hotel had charged me 677 dollars after a week of staying here, they charged me and took the money and then when I questioned why the hostility began. The same woman Georgia that we checked in with was loud talking me at the front desk after I asked her about the hotel policy regarding debit cards and how much money could be authorized at a time . The policy was quickly handed to me and I Pointed out per their policy that the authorization limit was 1000. Let's review.. they charged me 677 plus they were holding three separate charges for 150, 170 and 170. Math is not my best subject but I know damn well this is over 1000 and on top of that were attempting to authorize 1000 more dollars. Before any of this happened I had been in contact with the assistant general manager Cory who kept telling me that the system they use does its own thing and that they don't control it, and that he didn't authorize any extra charges which is obviously not true according to my bank. I have stayed in a Marriott residence in for an extended stay before and this did not happen. As a matter of fact I have stayed in plenary of other hotels and didn't have this problem. Georgia totally recanted what she said to me when I checked in and I believe she was very unprofessional. As you can see I posted the debit/ check card policy and it doesn't say anything about charging mid stay which Georgia insist is correct and policy. It seemed like anyone I talked to did not have a clue about what was going on. I have yet to talk to the general manager about what my experience here has been like. I personally will never stay here again and don't recommend this place to anyone else. read more

This is a great place to stay with the family. The rooms are nice, clean and set up really cute. Tip: if you have more than 1 child you need to get the 2 bedroom suite. The 1 bedrooms are nice but it's a little tight if you have 2 children with you. The kitchen area is nice and has everything you need. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite at the Residence Inn, which was perfect, since we were with my parents. Each couple had their own room and bathroom (my parents were jealous that our room had a desk), but had a common area in which to hang out/eat/etc. When we checked in, we were given some pre-wrapped cookies, but there were only 2 cookies (and it was obvious there were 4 of us). Nice touch, but next time, it'd be nice to get the same number of cookies as there are guests. The complimentary breakfast buffet is decent - you can make belgian waffles and there is a selection of eggs, sausage, bagels, toast, fruit, cereal. Nothing fantastic, but considering it's complimentary, it's a good amount of stuff and the taste is decent. My husband used the gym and whirlpool, which he said were nice. Obviously, Residence Inns have some nice amenities, as people stay here long-term. We didn't see or use the Sport Court, but we liked that they had it! Finding it was originally tricky, as we were on the other side of the road. You have to drive past it and into another strip mall to turn around. But that's minor. It's a good location - plenty of shops, stores & restaurants close by, and close to the highway. And they have free WiFi! read more

As a Platinum rewards member, I have stayed in many hotels. All of them have exceeded my expectations. But this one, went above and beyond. This hotel is perfectly located within steps from a CVS pharmacy, Starbucks, Five guys burgers, Red Robin and other businesses. There are plenty of parking spaces and an indoor pool & hot tub. My room had a full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, sofa, dining area and 2 burner stove. A home away from home! Plus, every room is a suite! No one can beat that! The variety and quality of items served for breakfast was perfect and the customer service was phenomenal. Special thanks to the housekeeping lady who turned in a pair of boots I left behind. The room was clean but don't stay here if you like to sleep in a cool room. The rooms were very warm and the AC doesn't let you adjust much. We could not sleep for the nights we were there. We had a suite with two bathrooms and one toilet work. Our phones didn't work to call the front desk and we were told the engineer was going to fix them but didn't. The halls had bins of garbage bags waiting to be taken out and you could smell it but I understand during this pandemic the amount of staff is likely less than usual. I wouldn't stay here again because of the room temperature but it is a nice hotel with a pretty seating area outside with a fire pit and bbq however neither of those worked. We stayed here recently since it was close to a wedding venue we were attending and I have to say that Residence Inn is a nice hotel with quite a few amenities. The rooms were spacious with them being all-suite including a kitchen and microwave. The amenities they have are a workout room with the latest equipment, a pool with a hot tub and also a billiard room which I really wanted to try, but we just didn't have enough time. They also have an outdoor court for those interested in playing basketball which I have rarely seen at a hotel. The place also has free breakfast in morning which has a good selection of food to choose from including fresh fruit and during the two nights we stayed there they even changed what they offered for hot foods so you won't get tired of eating the same thing each day. The hotel is pretty well maintained and clean plus they also have free Wi-Fi. We never had any noise problems even though it is very close to a big main road and also close to many businesses near by like Starbucks and Red Robin. The walls are kind of thin as we could here people closing their car doors since we were on the first level and the parking lot is located just outside our room. Service was quick with both check-in and check-out. Overall a very pleasant stay here and I wouldn't mind visiting again, but this is just too far from NY city to come here if not for a specific event. read more

Stayed here for a wedding last month, and I'm gravely disappointed. The outlandish cost for such a lackluster place is a joke. Decor is out dated, staff largely unhelpful...specifically The guest care supervisor who fronts like she's friendly and well put together but she literally has no idea what she's doing. Example: we saw a fire pit on their website, so we called to ask about it, she assured us that it was awesome and available in a first come first serve basis. Turns out there is NO fire pit at this location, it's just a stock photo....how the hell do you mistake that? Example 2: we didn't have a car, and this supervisor says "Oh we have a shuttle that can take you around, ANYTIME you need it." She literally used the word Anytime. So we said "how about 11pm?" "Oh no...it doesn't run that late...." "But...you just said Anytime...." And no joke. She responded with: "the shuttle is available anytime WHEN it's operating." ?!???! These issues turned what could have been a smooth trip into a logistical hassle and an overall let down in terms of lodging. Smarten up and spend your money elsewhere....plenty of other options in the area. read more

The staff is extremely rude at this location. We never had a problem before but this last stay was completely unbearable, so much so we checked out 3 days earlier than planned. There is construction going on at the hotel (which we were never notified until check in) and after complaining of the noise 2 nights in a row, we were moved to a different room way out of the way on the 4th floor. (Not too convenient when you have 2 dogs and a 2 year old) They also downgraded us to a queen from a king and then when we brought it up, we were told we were "lying to his face". I was harassed one night by the construction workers yelling rude things to me as I carried my daughter in from the car and when I brought that up to the manager after our stay, he said well maybe I shouldn't have had my daughter out that late. 4 days after check out we received an email with a zoomed in picture saying a chair was damaged and they would contact us with a price(couldn't really tell it was a chair but he was trying to say my daughter drew on it) without any more contact my card got charged $210. (Almost exactly the price difference of our early check out ) I called to complain and asked for more pictures of the chair, was refused them. I asked if my father who lives close could see the chair, and was told that is not how it works. So with no proof besides a tiny picture 4 DAYS after we left that room we lost $210. After all the other nonsense we dealt with. Do yourself a favor and just stay in Kingston. ‍ read more

This first visit to the property met and exceeded expectations. Staying in an extended-stay type hotel is completely different than the experience one would expect from a full-service facility or resort. I have stayed in probably 20 Residence Inns over the past two decades and this is one of the best. The front-desk staff was quite helpful with not just check-in but in answering questions and providing solid recommendations on the area, The staff provided assistance in special requests, extending my checkout date and an overall superior experience. The rooms had plenty of light and lamps, a comfortable bed, two television sets and a bedroom door. Not applicable on this trip but important for those travelling with children. The location is convenient to restaurants, grocery stores and general shopping. The standard complimentary breakfast is included and this property features an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and 24 hour fitness center. Highly recommended and I will return in September as my choice to host many family members. Highly recommended in an area with a limited choice of upscale lodging options. read more

They did not honor their promise to use my Marriott rewards points when I booked my stay and when I checked out on 7/8/18. They charged my credit card with out an explanation, but did not use my points. Customer service did not support me. Save your receipts if you are foolish enough to stay here. I unfortunately did not. Next time I'll use my points from my American express business card. They stand behind their customers. The staff doesn't give you a courtesy call if you accidentally leave anything behind in your room after check out. On top of that, whatever is left will be stolen if you try to come back for it. No apologies and or call back from management at all. What was stolen was valuable for us. Their corporate office will sure be hearing from us and from our attorney. read more

I experienced disrespect from staff, cracks in my mirrors, and overflowing toilets. It was early in the morning and I heard a knock at my door but decided not to answer it because of the time. The door flung open! I came out of my room and saw the MANAGER of the hotel. I ask him what he was doing and he said that he wanted to talk to me about noise coming from the pool room that happend to be caused by my son's music and his friends who DID NOT stay in our hotel room. I stayed here overnight while we were traveling down the coast. The room was average but the TV had so many channels and because it was small it was hard to watch. We slept in a 1-room suite which was fine. The hotel has a pool and workout facility. The location is good because its close to so many stores and a mall down the road. The breakfast was the worst though, usually I expect better from Residence Inn, but this was low. They had a small amount of food for breakfast and the waffles for kids were that you put them on 4 mini's, not not one whole. I expect better but this was just one night. read more

So a bunch of our family stayed here Father's day weekend, unfortunatly we all couldn't be on the same floor but we were in same section of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen is great for a family reunion when it is hard to go out to eat with a large group every night. The outside areas are also spacious with the grills for guest use and basketball court and putting green. The kids loved it. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, fresh and large selections. The one proble we had and the reason this place did not get 5 stars is because we used the same outdoor space the whole weekend,(which was large, even shared if with another family one night and did not feel crowded) however they didn't clean up the area all weekend. Saturday when we got there the garbages were pretty full and there we cigarette butts everywhere. Monday most of us checked out but some of the family didn't and we were visiting outside late Monday morning and they were just taking out the trash but did not sweep the area at all. The sad thing is my Aunt complained Saturday that the garbage was full and they said they would get someone to take care of it but no one did. The rooms are pricey BUT a two bedroom suite you can fit 6 people and the money you are saving by not having to eat every meal out make it worth it. read more

Nice place decent sized rooms and clean. Complimentary dinner may be ok, they ran out of the entree (grilled chicken) though more is promised to be brought out. Problem is the fitness room. Cramped, and most annoying, is the fact that no one could figure out how to operate the tvs on the treadmills or stepper. Complex instructions, telling you to look for a power switch that doesn't exist then use a remote to control a series of cable boxes somewhere else. One person managed to get the home shopping network and that was it. I travel a lot and go to a lot of fitness centers, this was a disappointment. Pass to the local gym would be much better.
