The basketball court and putting green were a nice touch!
    Vera G.

This is a great hotel! The staff goes above and beyond and the room was spacious, new, comfortable, and very clean. The mattress and the shower head were awesome. I stayed at another hotel recently that used COVID as an excuse to do the bare minimum for guests. That wasn't the case at the Residence Inn. They definately didn't skimp on the grab-n-go breakfast. The pool is closed, but you can reserve a time slot at the gym, and there's a basketball half court and putting green outside, too. I learned about how detailed Marriott gets with sanitizing everything down to the curtain wands and I'm pretty impressed. Would recommend the Residence Inn to anyone passing through Poughkeepsie!

This facility gave away my king sized bed reservation and put my husband and me in a Queen. It's a four night stay, and a queen bed is absolutely NOT acceptable. Sure, they have a King bed available tomorrow, but tonight, somebody sleeps on the sofa. Not okay, Marriott. Additionally, see the photos of the shower grout. It goes right along with the stale room smell. I've stayed at other Marriott properties numerous times and never had a problem. I will avoid this facility for all future travels.

First let me start by saying the good things about this place, they have a pretty good breakfast every morning they have a pool table and a pool including a Hot tub. This place is also in a very nice area as well. I came with my family for a vacation and had to deal with issues that could have been easily fixed in the hotel. My main issues were first the housekeeping staff who seemed to keep missing cleaning our suite and every time I complained there was a reason and they said it would be corrected and it was not. This happened on three different occasions and the third time I was just ignored after I complained. The next issue I had was an issue with my debit card that I used to check in when I arrived. According to their policy if I use a debit card they will authorize the nightly hotel rate plus 20 for incidentals on a daily basis. We stayed 11 nights. Upon checking in the lady at the desk named Georgia told us that we could change the card we use for payment at checkout. I asked specifically that the card I used upon checking in for deposit borne charged. Well to my surprise I checked my bank statement to find that the hotel had charged me 677 dollars after a week of staying here, they charged me and took the money and then when I questioned why the hostility began. The same woman Georgia that we checked in with was loud talking me at the front desk after I asked her about the hotel policy regarding debit cards and how much money could be authorized at a time . The policy was quickly handed to me and I Pointed out per their policy that the authorization limit was 1000. Let's review.. they charged me 677 plus they were holding three separate charges for 150, 170 and 170. Math is not my best subject but I know damn well this is over 1000 and on top of that were attempting to authorize 1000 more dollars. Before any of this happened I had been in contact with the assistant general manager Cory who kept telling me that the system they use does its own thing and that they don't control it, and that he didn't authorize any extra charges which is obviously not true according to my bank. I have stayed in a Marriott residence in for an extended stay before and this did not happen. As a matter of fact I have stayed in plenary of other hotels and didn't have this problem. Georgia totally recanted what she said to me when I checked in and I believe she was very unprofessional. As you can see I posted the debit/ check card policy and it doesn't say anything about charging mid stay which Georgia insist is correct and policy. It seemed like anyone I talked to did not have a clue about what was going on. I have yet to talk to the general manager about what my experience here has been like. I personally will never stay here again and don't recommend this place to anyone else.

    Breakfast!

As a Platinum rewards member, I have stayed in many hotels. All of them have exceeded my expectations. But this one, went above and beyond. This hotel is perfectly located within steps from a CVS pharmacy, Starbucks, Five guys burgers, Red Robin and other businesses. There are plenty of parking spaces and an indoor pool & hot tub. My room had a full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, sofa, dining area and 2 burner stove. A home away from home! Plus, every room is a suite! No one can beat that! The variety and quality of items served for breakfast was perfect and the customer service was phenomenal. Special thanks to the housekeeping lady who turned in a pair of boots I left behind. The front desk called, left a voice mail and I picked them up.

Bites on my back 9 days after checking out.

If you've never stayed at a Home2Suites by Hilton, they are one of my favorite of Hilton's brands. The rooms are always well appointed and spacious and the interiors have a modern feel. For my stay, I stayed in a king suite, which includes a nice sitting area, mobile desk, large screen TV, kitchenette (with refrigerator, dishes, dishwasher, sink, and microwave), and convenient closet for hanging clothing items and dresser for folded items. The staff here work hard to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, including texting a few times to check in throughout to ensure you're enjoying your stay. Like most Hilton's, they have a snack shop in the lobby area with a self serve check out (where you can charge it to your room or to your card). I appreciate this so I can get a little something to eat on days where I'm spending a lot of time in the hotel working. The parking lot is well lit and felt safe. I was able to park in front under lights on both occasions that I stayed here. Get to it!

First, they are pet-friendly. We have a small dog, so this was important to us. There was a $75 charge posted online, but it was actually $125 because we were staying so long (so ask about this if you have a longer stay planned). There are dog waste stations on either side of the property, which is nice. The room itself was very spacious. We had a room adjacent to the stairwell so it was a bit bigger than most...instead of having the curtain separator, we had a separate wall to the bedroom, allowing for privacy when one of us needed to work or have a call. The rooms have dishes, a microwave, and a full-sized refrigerator, along with a dining room table, a couch, and a large bathroom. There's no heat source in the room, but you're able to check out a burner or check out utensils to use the grills outside. I am ashamed to say we didn't use the pool, but it's available. There's a workout room we used, and then lots of common seating to eat meals or take calls. Breakfast is another highlight. The menu is similar, but rotates: there are croissants, egg, some sort of meat, and a few types of cheese, along with one of three unique aiolis/sauces. Because we were there so long, breakfast got old for us, but for a weekend trip, you won't notice repetition. There's a waffle maker and fresh yogurt to help with variety. I would actually eat breakfast and then make a yogurt parfait with walnuts and granola to enjoy as an afternoon snack. For longer stays, stays with several guests in one room, or if you love having (more than a continental) breakfast included, this is a great choice!

Days Inn by Wyndham Poughkeepsie is now Quality Inn/ Rodeway Way Inn…read more For my past experiences with Quality Inn, they have always been positive. I have always enjoyed their complimentary breakfast and clean rooms. But after staying here, I have learned not all Quality Inns are the same. This location was horrible and would not recommend anyone to stay here. I stayed here with my husband for one night, from Friday evening to Saturday. When we checked in on Friday evening, this employee did not greet us when we came in. She just stared at me until I told her we were here to check in. Instead of asking me for my ID, she said "ID". She did not tell us what time breakfast hours would be the next day and there are no signs posted in the lobby or in our room (but figured breakfast would at least be available between 8-9 am so I make sure to wake up in time and head over to get some the next morning). After she issued me my 2 card keys, she just said to go around back to the room. I had to ask her to clarify and then I headed to my car and drove over to our room. I don't know what her problem was but I think I could have used a little less of the attitude. It is clear that this employee doesn't really care about her job (nor did the different employee I interacted with the next morning at the front desk). We got a king size bed. The room itself was clean from first glance and the room was spacious enough. But later on, I found some yellow stains on the comforter we used... The bathroom was really cramp. The toilet seat had stains on it that did not come out with alcohol wipes. I hung my towel on the hanger in the outside closet so that it would be easier for me to dry my hands than to close the door to use the towel on the door hook. The next morning, I was incredibly disappointed with the breakfast. The breakfast had small cups of Activia yogurt (maybe 2 oz, not the larger 4 oz size), cold cereal you dispense yourself, milk and assorted bread/ pastry (small selection). The waffle machine was broken. The coffee machine was also not working. Another guest had asked about the waffle machine and the employee at the front desk said that other guests turn it off and on, which is why it doesn't work. When the same guest had asked about the coffee, the employee had said it wasn't plugged in, which is why it wasn't working. But she did not bother to plug it in to have it work... It was annoying to hear excuses from this employee while I tried to figure out what I wanted to get for breakfast (honestly, I ended up just getting 2 of the yogurts and went back to my room and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast after I checked out). This employee had the same attitude as the other employee the night before, in which she was very apathetic and didn't care. She didn't apologize or offer a solution. The only thing possibly going for this hotel is the price. I was surprised to see how expensive hotels are in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. This was one of the more affordable locations, but was still pricey for what we got. If you can stay somewhere else or keep on driving to the next city to save some money, don't stay here.
