I'm not sure why I gave this place 5 stars, but my room was 1605 and it's in need of remodeling. It had a mini kitchen and was just old. On the way in, there were homeless people living underneath the underpass in the freeway. I mentioned in my last post, about the homeless. It's STILL a problem. So please be careful out here.

What a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday! I reserved a room for two in early October as a surprise weekend getaway for my partner's birthday. We hadn't really explored much of Phoenix, so I figured staying downtown would be a great start. We had valet park our car in their parking lot, and when we needed it back, we just needed to text them with a card they handed us the day of our arrival. It was super convenient and quick. The lobby was spacious and welcoming with light music and bright atmosphere, with plenty of chairs for groups to sit at while waiting to check in. The room was perfect for just the two of us, with a king-sized bed, couch, and kitchen area. While we didn't cook anything during our stay, it may be helpful to note if you'd consider making your own food in the hotel. There's also a large fridge where we stored leftovers, and were gifted a fruit platter in honor of my partner's special day (you must request this amenity a few days before you arrive- they'll charge you extra). The staff also gave us a birthday card with two small glasses of red wine. This hotel also has a check out convenient store in the lobby, a restaurant and bar, breakfast, an exercise area, laundry room, and an indoor pool. You will want for nothing while you are here, but even if you did, this hotel is placed right near downtown Phoenix where you can do bar crawls, ghost tours, and eat amazing, multicultural food. It's a place best suited for adults; there aren't many places nearby that are child-friendly. If you're considering staying here, know that the days are pretty dead but the nightlife is jumping! Some activities we did included going to Stand Up Live, a Star Wars burlesque show, along with dinner at Chico Malo and Pa'la Wood Cooking. If you ask me, Pa'la was the star of the weekend- I'm already trying to go back asap! Overall, Residence Inn at downtown Phoenix is an excellent choice if you want to stay right by the action, with a comfortable space to rest your head, and a team that is driven to make your stay unforgettable.

Coupled with the Courtyard by Marriott at the same property, the Residence Inn offers a high-value stay right in the heart of downtown Phoenix, within a short walk to sports facilities and many restaurants. It has excellent cityscape views from upper-level rooms, and the inviting high-ceiling dining area is stylish and comfortable, putting it on par with hotels at twice the price point. Service was friendly and efficient throughout, with quick check-in and -out processes, and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Valet parking is available, albeit a little pricey, but the room rate more than compensates for that. My new go-to for stays in central Phoenix!

Place is great and stunning, least it was for me. I had no expeditions staying here since I was here for a commencement ceremony. Rooms were nice, smelt a little when we first walked in like someone just took one and left but after a quick frebreeze squirt good as can be. We did say we were having a baby with us and were disappointed that there was no sponge or soap to clean any dishes let alone our baby bottles. People were super nice though after we talked to the front desk.

Way to fix a problem. First of all Skylar at the front desk was a wonderful soul. The way she received my issue with so much style and grace was wonderful. Now if I just went with my issue I would have given the place a two. But nope! Skylar provided excellent exceptional customer service. My bedding wasn't the cleanest. I was like hold up did they even change my bedding from the last guest. I took my issue with the bedding to Skylar with pictures and she was very accommodating. Also, I think the floors need a deep cleaning. I am going to post my socks so you can see how a new pair of socks out of the package was dirty within 5 minutes. I also didn't like the Valet. I am going to be honest here I am a paying tipping customer and they acted as if I wasn't supposed to be there. It just felt like I was bothering them. I still tipped but not as much as I would have if they provided better service. The hotel comes with a breakfast. Shout out to the food and beverage staff and their hospitality. Now was the food anything to write home about? No! But I am big on customer service. How do you treat me. Treat everyone the same. I love their energy and their overall thoughtfulness. So, how did I come to my rating. Skylar by herself gets a 5. Room: 1 Valet:1 Food and Beverage Staff 5 Gives you a solid 3 Also, shout out to the General Manager for blessing me with member points because of my concerns. I would give them another try. We all have bad days. They took it and fixed the problem. Now we just have to work on the Valet.

Great hotel, could enhance for women, a Magnifying mirror for make up, more counter space in bathroom, otherwise great!

Clean and modern place, friendly staff. I'd give the hotel a 3 1/2 stars, almost a 4 star but the counter space un the bathroom area had no consideration that women may have make up, curling irons or items you want on the counter but you do have space at the bottom shelf to put a bag and another con, is no magnifying mirror, that should be an automatic amenity in a room. Love the restaurant on the 4th floor, great food, drinks and vibe. Staff is top notch!

I stayed here August 29 to September 2nd 2021 Very pleased with this hotel. Conveniently located downtown where I had business. Walking distance to nearby restaurants and close to the Suns Arena and Chase Stadium. Very clean and spacious room. The breakfast is great and the staff is very friendly. Nice gym and indoor pool. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

I really enjoyed this hotel. It is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Phoenix. There are so many restaurants, bars and activities to do within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The amenities such as the gym and pool are well equipped. The continental breakfast was on point! The only issue I had was on the first night as there was a horrible noice coming from the 20th floor. This night was horrible and couldn't sleep but management moved me the next day. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in the Phoenix area.

I only stayed here for one night and unfortunately didn't get to take full advantage of my stay because of my fast turnover. During my short experience here I was very happy with the location of this hotel, it is very close to a lot of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself was very clean and well managed. They offer a happy hour and also have a bar on a separate floor that is open until 10pm. They have free breakfast that starts at 6am which was very convenient for me as I had an early flight the next morning. Our room was spacious and very modern, they also have a store downstairs that sells food for you to make in your room. Hope to come back and take advantage of all the wonderful amenities they offer!

Maydeline at the Spa was very helpful and very in touch with guest needs. One step ahead everytime. Colin really saved the day with making sure we had everything we needed. Brennan was also really helpful at breakfast and bringing us water all the way to the retreat pool. There was a minor hiccup with requesting ice while we were there but they did take care of it and apologized the next day for it not being done promptly, the acknowledgement was great and it really was such a minor thing. We ate inside and had a lovely lunch, and the food and service were great. Later, when I went to use the restroom by the pool, I saw the same employee from inside using the women's restroom. It was a very tall person who appeared to be male. I was shocked and very uncomfortable. I often travel with my young nieces, and the thought that they could have walked in and seen the same thing is deeply upsetting. A women's restroom should be a safe and private space. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. I hope management will review their restroom policies and make sure staff respect those boundaries. I will post this on every site to raise awareness to this issue.

Us girls were probably the oldest ladies at the park but we didn't mind. The children are very well behaved besides one little boy but his parents gave him a talking to and the rest of the day was fine. Anywho we had a great time laughing and utilizing the on site bar. I sat so long in the turquoise tube my rear end got stuck in the hole and two of the workers had to help me out! Thanks Nico you saved my life!! After we survived that fiasco, we were able to stroll around the beautiful property and sit near other bodies of water like the other pools including one with a giant fountain structure! If you come here make sure you bring your best sunscreen my cousin only had 15 spf and we're German and Irish so imagine how she looked leaving! She's not used to the Arizona sun so just be prepared especially with your precious children. Lather them up with the 50 spf instead. From the moment you walk through the main entrance, first thing is the size and ambience of the reception area, Starbucks and bar strikes you and you know you're not in a normal Marriot hotel. Front desk staff was fantastic, Liz had all our room, valet parking, Lounge access and welcome gift organised and made check in quick and simple. The rooms are large for a downtown hotel, it was almost a joke at how far you needed to walk tp get dressed or goto the bathroom. Wished these big rooms came with 2 sinks? Rooms have full sized fridge, pod style coffee machines with a box of coffee pods and teas. But thats not really needed as they have rooms that have access to a 24 hour Lounge that includes complimentary coffee, tea, waters, Pelegrino, fruit juices, snacks, sodas; and during happy hour, cheese and fruit platters and $ private bar. Breakfast is so impressive and held in the lounge, certain rooms come with free Lounge and Breakfast access, definitely worth the extra spend. Think about how much they charge for food, snacks and drinks? Parking is valet, nice and easy but small considering the side of the hotel and can get busy. Waiting wasnt long though as the parking is built into the hotel and not somewhere else. The Duster bar downstairs is a great place to hang and cheaper than buying it the event centers.... but service was so slow at 2/3rds full. Took 25 minutes to get 1st order in and another 10 mins to pay. Our server wasn't slack, she just covered the entire bar whizzing around. They need more staff when theres a function, a game and a big concert all in the same night. The chicken fingers and veg paste was good. The albondigas was terrible. Two meat balls With some chipotle sauce. We ate breakfast every morning and it was good.
