I've really enjoy living here. The views are beautiful, the area is quiet, and there's plenty of outdoor space to walk, relax, and play. It truly feels peaceful coming home after a long day. Lacy and Jeannelle in the Front Office and Andy in Maintenence have all been incredibly helpful. The team is responsive to requests and genuinely works hard to meet your needs, which makes a big difference. If you're looking for brand-new and ultra-modern, this may not be it. But if you want a place where you can unwind, enjoy some serenity, safety and still be close to everything, this is a wonderful choice. read more

This apartment complex is old and not maintained. A few apartments have a view of the water and that is the only positive point. The maintenance protocol is horrible. Had 41 service calls in one year for the air conditioner leaking in the utility closet and to date it is still not repaired along with lots of water damage and mold. You are better off moving to a newer property. Lived here over 20 years so trust what I am saying on this property as these buildings are old and again not maintained inside nor outside. read more

I chose these apartments because they are in between Soddy daisy and Chattanooga. If you work at the TVA sequoyah plant, it's about a 25 minute drive from here to the plant. They are one of the few complexes that do month to month leasing which is great if you're a contract worker looking for a place to stay for the outage. They also give TVA employees a discount. A fully furnished studio apartment will run you $980 for the month. Water, electricity and sewage are included in rent. Cable and internet have to be set up by you. Pets are allowed. The place is decent, nothing fancy. Not very new but not super outdated. They don't provide any cookware (pots/pans) or microwave. They don't have very many electrical outlets either. And the ones they do have are in inconvenient places. The apartment was fairly clean when I moved in, they could have done a better job. Fridge was a little sticky. Haven't seen any bugs so that's a plus. Staff seems a little ditsy and kind of rush you a bit but they are still friendly. They have a separate area to wash clothes. I find this inconvenient and prefer the washer and dryer hook ups be inside the apartments but that's just me. The grass area overlooks the lake. not everyone gets to see the lake from their own patio, but you are able to walk down to it and they have a small bench there where you can sit and just chill. They have a beautiful pool area as well. There's also a restaurant in the lobby area which is pretty cool. If you are looking for something decent, fairly close to everything and monthly leasing then look no further. If you are looking for complete luxury with the most high tech newest appliances then this might not be for you. read more

My experience living at The Reserve at Lakeshore has been a very positive one. The apartment has a nice view of the river. Quiet neighborhood, the grounds are kept up. I feel very safe living here. If I ever have any problems all I do is contact the manager, Kenna, or one of the other staff members and it is resolved quickly. Everyone is friendly and eager to please. This place seems nice AT FIRST!!! The staff is very rude. My husband an i lived in a studio for work. It was furnished. The pleather couch was worn down and cracked. I called the office and they had no concern. I told then i should.not be held responsible they didnt care. I moved out and they didnt do the walk through untill the 4th week after i was gone. Mind you i should have had my deposit back by now. They told my the carpet guy said there was animal urine in my carpet also not true i dint ever have an animal. The manager kenna said my someone said they seen me with a dog. They were doing everything in their power to keep my deposit. I remained firm and i will be getting my deposit back. This place is a joke. The apartments across the street are way nicer and cheaper!!! I will be contacting the Better Buisness . read more

The apartments need serious work. The management and maintenance hardly respond to issues. For instance, in my unit, when it rains moderately the bedroom carpet get flooded. I have called about this multiple times and when a maintenance person shows up they just say that they will investigate and get back to me, they never do. I end up having to deal with the issue on my own by soaking up the water with towels and the last time I pulled back the carpet to check for mold. The tackstrip was severly water damaged and I am not certain if there is mod or not. I called as usual to express my concern only to be met with a casual sorry to hear that we will put you on the list, and nothing happens. Somewhat recently, the apartment upstairs flooded and as a result my apartment got flooded as well. There was clear damage to my ceiling and carpet. After a day some people showed up to vacuum the carpet and I expressed concern about the carpet padding being replaced because of mold. I was told that is not happening, when a simple internet search will tell you that you should. Additionally, the ceiling sat for 2 weeks before someone finally came to halfway fix it. I had to text the property manager to even get them out here. They were suppose to come back to finish the repair and as you probably guessed never returned. I highly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs. read more

I understand everyone's experience is personal, but this is mine: Renting a basic 1bd/1ba while my real home is under construction. When I needed a place to rent, The Reserve at Lakeshore was one of the few places at that point in time with availability, especially pet friendly. The positive aspects of the complex is friendly staff, great location (close to Northgate Mall, 153 access, and minutes from downtown Chattanooga), a small gym and amazing pool area, and beautiful grounds. My apartment however, it's old. Let's be honest, was built in the 30+ years ago???? Single pane leaky windows, not very theft proof. Single pane, humongous patio sliding doors, still original that are drafty, not very energy efficient, hardware missing. Exterior plaster falling off the building and guttering does not work in places. My ground floor apartment flooded due to heavy rains. Maintenance got up what they could, but the carpet and padding was still soaked. I pulled back the carpet myself and blew fans on it for a month. Still smells mildewy. Chips and knocks inside the apartment everywhere. These are things that are not so noticeable at first glance, but there are so many, I'm afraid I will be blamed for something that's been there for 20 years. Cabinets and drawers have been painted over and over and over. They don't close properly. Parts of cabinets are duct taped together and painted over. Refrigerator seals were covered in mold and a shelf broken. BIG roach problem!!!!! Small roaches, big roaches, especially those large 2 inch or more palmetto roaches. Exterminators come around, but I've still invested in my own insect killing products. Cars are broken into. Other cars have had flour or some other kind of powder dusted on them in the middle of the night. Noise is probably my biggest issue. The walls are not sound tight. I hear conversations and people using their own bathrooms. The floor joists of the tenant above me are squeaky and make noise nonstop. Very active tenant. Then there are the surround sound systems everyone owns. People don't realize that sound travels. Price wise....... There are other complexes out there that are newer and better maintained for the same cost. When I was interested in the apartment and made the first contact by phone, I was told there ARE indeed month to month leases (since I'm building a home), but when it came down to signing the paperwork, all the sudden it's a lease contract. However I was in a bind and needed a place to live after just closing on my previously sold house. I know I'll be charged a break lease fee when I move to the new home, even though I paid $3500 upfront in first month, last month, and pet fees. Plus I'm sure I'll be charged for "damages". All apartment complexes make their revenue this way. 3/4/17- since initial review, 220v breaker has blown twice. Furnace keeps tripping it. It's old. God knows how long it's been since furnaces/ac units have had routine maintenance. First time the electrical tripped, I was without heat, refrigerator, stove, and hot water for 28 hours. The problem was band aided by general maintenance guys, not real electricians. Power failed again a week ago. Was without power for 2 days to whole apartment. Spoke with "Lexie" regarding a work order. Nobody ever showed up. Called back and the manager nor maintenance received a work order to restore power from "Lexie." Food in fridge was ruined. To add salt to the wounds, heavy rains occurred the night after my power was finally restored. My bedroom flooded for the second time. It is a partially submerged basement apartment. When management is contacted, they say they're sorry, but act like flooding is no big deal.....happens on a normal basis...... it's because gutters are clogged or in fact, it "shouldn't be happening." No it shouldn't be happening, but the fact of the matter IS, there is a hole somewhere on the side of the building allowing water to leak inside. If you rent here, definitely stay out of the ground floor units. read more

- Inattentive staff (voicemails aren't returned) - Cockroach problem (they do free extermination on Sundays only, had to do it 3 times over the course of 8 months) - The "corporate apartments" that are available are "furnished", but you still have to bring your own towels, shower curtains, old TV, no cable or internet included, etc. - The view of the water is nice and depending on your apartment location it can be quiet, else you will likely hear the bar and live music until 2am (furnished apartments are right next door) - There were break-ins to cars and an apartment when I was there Sept-June 2012 - Found out 2 months post-move out, after speaking with management twice, that I would not be getting my safety deposit back and would be charged an additional $150. Never received the bill and confirmed my address twice, so didn't think I would be losing it or paying more. - I liked my neighbors a lot which was a plus - Gym is very small; 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, 2 elliptical machines - Don't accept american express. No pay online feature. Have to pay by check or pay fee for credit card Overall thought the apartment was fine, although overpriced on a monthly lease. Staff was flexible with me continuing to extend over 8 months but I am discouraged about the lack of communication on deposits, billing, and the money I put into cockroaches being wasted. I understand my dog may or may not have left a stain on the rug (I didn't believe so but the rug blacklight cleaners claim it did), just wish it was better communicated and a bill was actually sent, instead of having to play phone tag and pay $150 extra on top of the $600 deposit I put down. The monthly complex downtown by the bridge on Market is a great alternative and worth the extra dollars. Also look into the Marriott's corporate apartment program, equal price and you get points, just a 15-20 min drive from downtown which is the same as this. read more

This place is awful. The staff is disorganized, inept, rude not helpful, and not friendly at all. Cockroaches, bugs, and spiders share your apartment with you. The furnished apartments consist of a pleather couch, a queen that is straight from the goodwill, and stove and fridge. No microwave, no pots and pans, the dishes are from the dollar store, and the sink doesn't even have a sprayer. Don't rely on the internet for the pictures. At 1,000 a month, it's not worth it. read more

This place sucks!! Horrible horrible horrible!! The person who showed us the apartment lied to us about multiple features to start. There's no on site restaurant/bar and there's not one coming. The units with no washer/dryer hookups don't have better views. The neighbors are sensitive, nosy, and too old. Average age is around 60. Expect to get a complaint every time you make a noise over a whisper. That eliminates entertaining. After a couple complaints, which may or may not be true, you lose your deposit. That means they could flat out lie and you're out money. It happened to us. Don't move here!! Save yourself the headache. A pool isn't worth all the bullcrap. read more

Not a great apartment complex. Older buildings and they charge a premium for the view of the lake which is the only reason I chose this place. Maintenance service is horrible, took months to get things fixed properly- they would often have to come back to fix the same issues over again. There were many stains on the carpet when I moved in (noted on my agreement) and they still took half of my security deposit. Bottom line: The view of the lake was great! but there are much nicer places for the same price. read more
