We have been using them for 10 years. They have always been great. Im not happy about some of the charges but the workers are super helpful.

we are at hostage with this garbage company out in Monroe. Such shitty service. They miss cans on a regular and cans of input in the same place for 27 years you call customer service and you can't get anybody that speaks English. They schedule a pick up that they missed five days in a row now and still have not picked it up. Meanwhile, I have every animal on the planet trying to empty my cans out on the .. my word of advice would be just to buy a few extra cans and make one pick up load a week to the garbage dump. It's $20 for a whole load clear over the cab. This place is absolutely a shit hole. Poor customer service not to mention their drivers. On numerous occasions, I've had their truck to drive right into my lawn, leaving huge ruts that they never came back and fixed. No break on the garbage fees for doing so either. Worst trash service I have ever dealt with. Horrible! I've called them about 16 times to get a additional recycle can which they have promised me about 16 times over. Then they double billed me for not one, but MULTIPLE months! So now I'm having to go through my bills and cross examine them with my payment history with a fine tooth comb. I wish they are better... Constantly misses or improperly does pickups. EVERYTIME I have scheduled an additional pickup because they missed or improperly provided service, it gets missed again. I'll call for a status and get some explanation and runaround, which eventually leads to my trash not getting picked up. I'll have to wait for their "normal" route to get trash picked up. This is happened to me at least a dozen times already between recycle and regular trash in the last two years. The amount of times I have to stress because I don't have the space for trash because they leave my bin more than half full. If only there are other options. read more

So far not really happy with the services provided. We moved from Bothell to Kenmore about 2 months ago and the difference in waste and especially in recycling services is very evident. Recology is a much much better company that shows through action that recycling is a priority with good sized recycling bins and WEEKLY pickup of their recycle. Republic only picks up recycling every other week, which should be criminal in 2018. We also tried to add on a yard waste bin and the cost was ridiculous, which seems to promote putting our yard waste and compost into the trash. I hope that Kenmore changes the waste management company when it comes up for renewal. read more

We have not had a pick up for 3 weeks due to snow. Get the snow but come on. Message said they would pick up recycle this Friday. Still a no show. Worst service ever! Wife had to bring extra cardboard in as it was getting all wet from rain. Pathetic! Perfect example of why consumers should have a choice in garbage companies! read more

You kept taking my garbage can (Lynnwood service area)! This is the second can they took. I have had to buy two cans in less than 1 year? The best thing they could do is to offer me $10 credit if I choose to keep using my own can. $10 credit? What a joke, it doesn't even cover the cost to buy a new can! Or..get this, I can pay extra to rent their own and they will waive $12 service delivery fee to deliver the can to me. Like seriously? You guys took the can in the first place. I wouldn't be in this situation calling you, if your company hadn't ran off and took my can in the first place. Oh and yeah, I won't be getting the next can until after the next pick up! Why, thanks so much (not really, I'm being sarcastic)! I can't help but wonder if Republic Services are doing this on purpose, taking garbage cans so people actually switch to their garbage can and they get more $. So angry! Update: A day after I posted my initial review. Republic Services (RS) told me to call them, which I did. Long story short, spoke to Warren who told me RS wouldn't give me anymore credit/reimburse for my lost can. Warren even told me that since I'm using my own can (instead of theirs) that I'm responsible for them. The nerve! This, after basically stealing my can not once but twice. So I filed a complaint with the attorney general. Had a customer service manager contacted me who was able to offer me some reimbursement (12/19/2018). If you're just as frustrated and RS is not helpful, filed a complaint with your state's attorney general! Make them listen! My one star review still stands. Republic is by far the worst managed company I've ever dealt with we've had over two wind, storms, snow, storms, and ice here we haven't had yard waste picked up in a month now and Tuesday was our regular pick up day so they picked up garbage and they did this twice already just picking up recyclables while yard waste piles up all over the neighborhood I got it on the phone on five different occasions with five different operators who work out of their house located all over the country that don't even know what's going on in this area. What a joke I was guaranteed on four different occasions the truck would come by and pick up my yard waste and my recyclables on for different occasions it never happened when I got off the phone this morning. They said I would have to wait till Tuesday for a regular yard waste day which is been over a month now, but I'm sure they are going to charge us for a full months garbage when we've hardly had anything picked up what a joke.! I will be canceling the service and taking it to the dump now in my truck, so I don't have to deal with these imbeciles anymore read more

They took my yard waste bin (my personally bought can, not a rented one issued by them). When I called them about it they said it had fallen in the truck while they were dumping it. They offered me $15 dollars towards replacing it. Fifteen dollars! That can cost me over $200 to replace. Absolutely no responsibility taken for destroying my property. read more

This company needs to be shut down and the City of Edmonds needs to break their contract with them. It's going on ONE YEAR and they constantly forget to pick up our recycling no matter how many calls our condominium places to them. All we get is excuses for the horrible customer service and not one change has happened, in the past 12 months, to make their service reliable. We over payed and it took them 3 months to get the money back to my grandma who is on a fixed income. They owed her $400+ dollars. Then it was explained to her that she would NOT have to pay for the rest of the year due to the "oversight". Today she received an invoice demanding payment. When I called in and spoke to customer service they never admitted fault and told me that we received "wrong information" from the supervisor. She then tried to shake me for misunderstanding. This is all after being on the phone everyday for over weeks trying to track down the money and get calls from a manager. I got called a lot of negative terms and basically told I was a money grabber since I was trying to help my disabled grandma. read more

Missed pickups at least once a month. This has been ongoing for over a year. I call to arrange another truck to show up. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, regardless of the service rep's promises. Best was last winter where they wouldn't pick up the yard waste due to snow on the road, and then wouldn't pick it up because it had subsequently frozen and was too heavy. I sat on rotting kitchen scraps for over a month. I've asked for a callback from a manager to discuss why they suck so much. Twice. They won't call back. That's an admission of sucking, if you ask me. Republic Services is worthless and dishonest and basically stealing money by consistently failing to render services. I'd love for them to get kicked to the curb (as it were) and replaced with a competent company. Come on, Edmonds, ditch these idiots! read more

This company apparently has a license to steal! We received no pick up during the snowmegeddon in Edmonds, WA for 3 weeks in a row a few months back (which I understand) but when I called customer service and asked for a reduction in fees for that time and was told "no credits are being offered for this period". I explained that I should not have to pay for services not rendered since they didn't have to pay drivers, truck fuel or disposal of trash, why do they get to pocket my money? So I short payed my invoice by $15.42 for the 3 weeks they missed. Now I am being threatened with past due notices and when I called I was told that my account will stay delinquent until I pay for services that were never provided! They have no idea what they are doing. Last year they just rolled my neighbors services into mine, then started charging me, and when I went to say hey, they told me I was wrong, and my landlord just payed them to stop the fight. This year they suddenly cancel my service, after i just payed, offer me a 40 dollar credit , so 9 days of service cost me 100 dollars, thats sounds fair right? the thing is I never canceled my service, I would if i could, but i cant because they have a contract with the city, thats why they suck so bad, they have no competition. They Also could not tell my why it was cancled, because they do not know. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them, only to reach no conclusion. but heres the kicker, my landlord called them, they told her everything, told her it was solved and all that jazz. Just moved to Monroe and wanted to start garbage and recycling, I called on Oct 10 and the guy that set up my account said the bins would arrive Monday before my pick up date on Tuesday. It is now the 24th of Oct and still no bins so I've missed two pick-ups now, I called up and spoke with an lady with a thick accent. She told me that it would be at least another week.. frustrated I told I haven't been putting out the trash because of the wild animals around my home in Monroe. She told me to make sure I don't miss my pick up time, so I told her that well we can start the service as soon as I get the bins. She said it wasn't their policy. Then I asked her if the people picking up my trash would pick up the trash that gets spread around my property from the wild animals, she said oh no they won't do that. So I explained that is why I will start my service when I receive the bins. Still not willing to change or talk to someone that can make that change I canceled my service. I feel sorry for the Company as a whole, because the location in Lynnwood has no idea what they are doing. Glad to see the operations supervisor knew they missed my recycling but sent a trash guy over to pick it up. Then when the Driver was here he argued with me about the can which i had which is the can Republic dropped off. Not only did he argue with me but waved his hand up at me like get away. The only reason this company even rates one star is because of the guy who drives the garbage truck (this is the Norma Beach area of Edmonds). He is reliable, diligent and pleasant. I do not know what the problem is with the other services, but the lawn waste and recycle drivers seem to operate on a schedule known only to them. They often miss the pickup or are a day or more late. Yesterday, Friday, was supposed to be recycle day, but no. I got a voice mail that said due to "unforeseen circumstances" they would not be picking up recycling. The message then went on to say they would be out "Monday or Tuesday". This isn't the first time and I doubt it'll be the last time. I tried to send an email via their website, but there is no "send" button on dialogue box. When I call customer service, they are unable to give me the name and phone number of a manager. I have to wonder WHY on earth the county decided to renew the contract with this group of incompetents. Somebody somewhere must be getting something, but the customers are not getting the services that we pay for. read more

Terrible. They pick up my garbage every week. They never put my garbage can back where I leave it. I leave in the exact spot they told me leave it on when I moved in here. In fact when I moved in the guy scolded me because I didn't leave it on the right side of my driveway. I had put it down n the left because I didn't know. Anyway that was a long time ago. Now they won't put it back and my garbage can has been lost or stolen. I see they offer other services I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole! read more
