We are fully paid up via automatic debit. A half-dozen phone calls to customer service reps have done nothing; we have been repeatedly promised that they would make a special pickup "tomorrow", but no one ever shows up, including the regular Thursday pickup we have actually contracted for. I have lived in my neighborhood well over 10 years and our great trash company santek waste was bought out by these people. They are the WORST raising pricing for nothing different. No "extra pick up" is available nor is big items UNLESS you pay. If you miss a day, oh well ‍ you'll have to wait until next week with no discounts. Not to be confused with Democrat Services, which are much less billionaire-centric. They do a good job around Houston with waste removal, in a city where such things are actually quite difficult. They should be commended for that, and often are, and are one of the companies that are a go-to for this kind of service in town. They came and picked up my can, but didn't cancel my service until a month after. Now they are sending me late notice for services. I didn't use and couldn't use because I didn't even have a can. Absolutely trash service(no pun intended). Moved into a subdivision and this is who we are now stuck with. According to my portal bulk pickup is Thursday yet they never pick up bulk on Thursday. Needed to put mattresses out so I called and was assured that that day Thursday it would be picked up. Of course it never was. Called that afternoon and was told we'll actually according to their paperwork bulk is Monday but she's escalating it and I would get a call back from operations. Never received the call back. The next morning we called back again and they escalated it again and told us it would be picked up by 4:15 that day. Well it's Monday and mattresses are still sitting here. We've lived here for a month and this is probably the 7-8 time I've had to call for them missing our cans and now bulk pickup. There's no accountability and tons of broken promises. I called them 07/09 to see if delay in schedule, was told yes, pick up would be Thursday (due hurricane we just had). Great. I happen to be at home (had no ac was driving back and forth for a week) on Wednesday and here comes the garbage truck. I quickly put out my garbage and I talked directly to driver and made sure it was also "bulk trash" day (things like boxes, etc that cannot fit into garbage cans, they do this once a month on a schedule and it showed that Wednesday at bulk trash day)... so I cleaned out some stuff from my garage and put it out by curb (as the the normal thing we do every month). It was not picked up. I called on Thursday was told it would be pick up today, called again on Friday - twice and was told by a Senior relations person it would be 100% picked up today, it was not. I called again on Monday and Tuesday - each time really nice people told me absolutely it would be picked up today. I talked to senior relations people in LAS, Indiana, New Mexico (they have call centers all over), finally given supervisor in Houston. SHE assured me it would be picked up Tuesday.....it was not. It might get picked up today -- but who the hell knows. Clearly this company does not have it's act together - one side does not know what the other is doing. read more

Since there are no negative stars I had to choose one star. However, I rate this company as 5 Black holes. Customer Service isn't just poor but unhelpful, incompetent, and hostile. Their prices are higher than almost any of their competitors. The small church resale shop where I volunteer as an assistant bookkeeper signed a proposal with them on Decemeber 2, 2023. In that time we have requested a copy of our contract and rates. We were an existing customer and were led to believe that our increased rates were due to us not having a contract. We sent them a check guessing at our new rate based on the proposal since we did not know it and Republic would not provide it. Our account sales rep. had infrequent contact with us and is apparently no longer with the company. Having tried to resolve the issue of knowing our rate and having a copy of the contract (we had a copy of the proposal) for two months we decided to cancel the service. On January 30, 2024 they magically found the contract signed by them December 29, 2023 and provided it, also claiming the rate issue was fixed (in the meantime we had recieved a late payment notice at the original not contract rate.) They wish six months payment if we wish to cancel the service. This is the most unethical, unprofessional, and immoral company I have ever had the displeasure of having to work with. I suggest literally any other company for your trash needs. Additionally I encourage you to not invest (and sell if you have) in this company. read more

After my can was delivered I had problems with my trash not being picked up for about a month and a half . Even though my can was out at the time of pick up I had to call more than once about this. Then after they started picking up I paid my quarterly bill of $191 which is for 3 months . After not even 1 full month I ended up moving so I had to cancel service. I was told thati would get a refund for the remainder of the quarterly rate. But after all the fees and taxes I only got refunded $14 . I had nothing but problems with them since they delivered my can. Then they basically robbed me of my money because of fees and all their bs . BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THEM OR SIGN A CONTRACT! They will consistently raise the amount they charge you from the base rate to the fuel / environmental recovery fee. This fee went up when fuel costs rose but never came back down despite the decrease in fuel cost. If you try to terminate the contract early, they will charge you for SIX MONTHS of service. The contracts auto renew for 36 MONTHS if you read the fine print and Republic WILL continue to raise your cost! Some of the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. Over the last 2 months our regular service has been sporadic at best. Missed days, delayed pick up by 1 or 2 days randomly... Reported on-line - zero response or feedback. Reported by phone - rude customer service and no offer of prorated refund of missed days or credit to account. Finally had enough and set up a cancelation for the end of my invoice cycle. Hands down the worst customer service experience - asked why I was cancelling and I reiterated the issues noted above, no trying to retain a customer... I have Republic Services for my construction business, and they have disappointed me so much but I can't do anything since they have the exclusive rights to the area. They delivered the dumpster to the wrong suite even though I mentioned many times not to put behind wrong suite, the landlord will give out fines. Yet, they delivered to the wrong suite. Called them begging to come relocate, still did not do it. Now I am being fined $100 for each additional day the dumpster is not behind the right suite. They were attentive and proactive in getting this issue resolved so I'm very pleased at how they handled it. I had received a quote back in May for a dumpster rental. The quote was for $419.00 dollars for a dumpster rental for the weekend. The invoice was paid and no problems. I received a call last Friday saying I had an outstanding balance. We have 3 shops, currently just opened 1 over a month ago. We were ok with there service before opening up our 3rd location. We place an order prior to open especially while we were in the process of remodeling the 3rd location. Its has taken over a month for the delivery of our new dumpster rental to arrive,....guess what ITS STILL NOT HERE!!!! We've called numerous times over and over just so we can be told it shows scheduled for tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. Do not use this service. Actually I can't call it Service. From when I signed up it took me 3 weeks to get a can. That's after being told a can has been delivered and being talked down to. I finally got the can and then they would never pick it up. This is the worst trash collection "service" I've ever seen. 9 months ago the trash can I was required to buy from them had a wheel fall off when they collected the trash. I called and was told I would have to buy another one for $90. Instead, I continued to put the wheel back on every trash day. Then, the wheel that kept falling off was apparently "collected" with the trash a couple of months ago AND service was spotty or nonexistent the last several months. I called again and they still refused to provide a complimentary replacement bin or even rebate ANY amount of fees for the missed collections.
