We've used Republic for many years and have been very pleased with the service. Very seldom do we have a problem with pickup - maybe a delay when we have snow or ice. Usually we'll get a e-mail or phone message letting us know of a delay. I think they do a remarkable job taking care of all the business they have. No company is perfect. I appreciate the job they do each week. Ramona E., Newton, NC read more

For the fourth time this year, republic services has failed to pick up residential recyclable trash in the Vale area. The local office blames it on the lack of drivers. 40 plus minutes spent on hold and talking to a person who pretends to be concerned, for less than a 6 dollar refund, and I still have to take it to the "convenience site" myself. Reschedules "for the next day" have never once been performed though promised. republic services, you are pathetic. read more

We started our service with Republic on August 4th of 2026. As of September 2nd we have not had a trash pickup .Multiple calls were made and we were promised that the truck would be there next week. 4 weeks later and still no pickup. I will be taking a months worth of trash to the dump myself and cancelling their service. It's kind of like they're not aware that they have competition. read more

I have put in requests after requests of wanting the recycling bin emptied and no one has been by to empty it. You have customers that pay you all to do your job but are too lazy to do so or you all just don't care . Y'all rather charge people and keep the damn money. Horrible service . Gds could have done a better job than the current company that owns this. read more

This is a MONOLOPY and Catawba Co. is the one paying for it with Sh!tty service. If i am wrong, why do you have a 1 star rating on Yelp? Here is my story. Started service August 18th. As I am in a wheelchair, I got DOOR TO DOOR service. First pickup was supposed to be Aug 25th. Well, being my first service, I had a 90% full recycle bin and a 100% full trash bin. My truck usually runs between 9:30 and 10:30am. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I waited till 3:40pm, now they close at 4pm and this comes into play tomorrow. So, I called the customer service and got a lady that was very nice and I thought helpful. She told me that she was sorry and it would be picked up tomorrow. Well, tomorrow came and by 2pm, still NO pickup. So I call customer service again. I get a nice guy that said he would take care of it. He gave me a case number and said by the way, the person you spoke with yesterday DID NOT fill out a report. Well, this guy at least gave me a case number. On to Thursday. No pickup by 2pm so I called again and got Carol. Carol was awesome and profusely apologized. I told her, I don't want an apology, I want my trash picked up!! She told me, "I GOT YOU". She told me she was starting an investigation and someone would be contacting me. She was sending it up the chain of command. BUT, THEY WOULD BE THERE FRIDAY!!! I give you 1 guess... NOPE!! So, Friday at noon I call a dear friend of mine, as a last resort. This man is pretty high up at MONOLOPY Services! I hated to involve him but it seemed customer support couldn't do anything. This guy told me, you WILL be picked up today. Well, about 4:45pm a driver showed up. This guys name was Troy Spencer. This man was AMAZING. He went above and beyond. He told me, I don't know who you know but I came from another county just to get you. lol GREAT GUY!! OK, problem finally taken care and solved. Well, not so fast my friends. Now, my next pick-up day was the next Tuesday Sept 1st. Ill give you 1 more guess. That's right, they missed week 2. That's not just 2 weeks in a row, but THE FIRST 2 WEEKS of my service!! Well, I am at my window and see the trucks go down my road then back out. So, I call customer service right then. Hoping there still going to be close enough that they can turn around and get me. This time Christina tells me, "They will pick you up by 5pm". NOPE, NADA!! OK, today is the Sept 2nd as I am writing this and I just got off the phone with customer service and Juan told me "THIS IS RIDICULOUS" I said, "YA THINK?" So, once more Juan sets up an investigation and tells me I will get a call. AGAIN, I don't want a call or investigation... I JUST WANT MY DAMN TRASH PICKED UP!!! Republic Services, ya'll wanted this contract/MONOLOPY now you can't do your job. Catawba county, PLEASE VOID their contract and let others offer their service. I am disabled and NEED a door to door service. I talked to 2 other services and they can't even come into Catawba Co. THIS MONOLOPY NEEDS TO END!!! My next call in going to be the news, then the ADA. The ball or should I say trash bin is in your court. Have a day. Tony read more

Just picked up my can and told me I had canceled my service which I did not. Terrible service, do not use.

Set up service on July 7,2026 was told they would be delivering my 2 waste cans on July 14th. It's now July 31st, still no waste cans. I have called customer service 7 times and get told they're out of cans or they'll come the next day. Today they told me it's because lack of drivers. At this point I could've went up there and got the cans myself. I already got a bill for services I haven't yet received. I am not paying it until I get my waste cans. I would've gave it zero stars, but I had to pick a star rating to post this. read more

I would give them zero stars, if possible! Took 4 calls just to get bins delivered and we have not gotten anything picked up. They promise same day or next day pickup but never come. How are they still in business?!?! I demanded a manager call me and that hasn't happened either. We should get the address and drop our trash off to them at this point! So disappointing!! read more

I'm pissed they were supposed to get my trash on July 2nd, I'm disabled I have to pay some one to come get my trash cans to top of my driveway and than bring them back down, when they don't pick the trash up my mailman won't deliver my mail cause the trash cans are close to mailbox only place to sit them, than I had to get some one to come help me try and get trash cleaned up cause some hit my trash can and knocked it over. You guys are quick to take my money but not to get my trash, read more

Trash didn't pickup on our whole street. It's day 4 of not picking up the trash. This company has made our whole street look like trash for days now by not picking up. They keep saying they are on the way but that hasn't been true for days. They want full price for partial service, no accountability for lack of service. read more

Horrible customer service. Have been trying to cancel service for two months now. They keep billing me on auto pay and I can't seem to opt out once they have my card on file. They give you the runaround when you call and keep transferring to another person who tries to convince you to keep service. I just want to cancel and have them pick up their bins. Why is this so difficult? Terrible company AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Truck passed without pickup on 2-3-26, did not come at all last week, why bother driving around and not picking up? That will not count as a pickup for charging purposes. I want 2 weeks credit on my bill. Robert norris, 2385 Duckhook Ln, Conover, NC. 828-405-4606 read more

My trash has been sitting at the end of my driveway for three weeks now. On the third week I had to call to find out what was really going on. Poor communication with the customers. Terrible company stay away from them at all costs. They damaged our mailbox back on May 27th and we reported it. The local manager came out confirmed the damage and reviewed the their truck's video recording and heard the impact and the driver tell the other employee they hit it. The local manager said that they would repair the damage within a couple weeks. Fast forward to now, we have spent the past 3 months calling Republic Services every other week and they finally put in a claim to their insurance company last week and to only have it denied since it has been so long and they deleted the video and now that manager is denying everything even though we have a recorded voicemail from him. read more

Apparently picking up a trash can is complicated. I came home from work and my trash can is half full, because I'm not a half empty guy. I've lost track of the times my large blue republic trash can, that sits under a street light has been missed or left half full. I give up on calling and complaining so I decided to go talk to my yard about the issue. Seems as though I will achieve the same results. read more

Horrible company, horrible! Phone doesn't work, website doesn't work. Picked up my neighbor's garbage, but not mine. Can't even call them to complain. Waste of money. read more

My brother pays for this service so I didnt know until recently how bad it was. Starting off, INSANE price hike. We agreed to paying somewhere between 35 and 40 a month. That very quickly raised to 70. And funny enough, its not monthly. There will be months where we get billed up to 3 times in a single month for our "monthly rate". Worst of all though is when you need bulk pickup. When scheduling it we were told its 45 dollars per flatbed truck to come pick it up, with many, MANY additional charges based on the trash. Ex: if you need them to pickup leaves its a charge. Electronics is a charge. Wood? Charge. Plus additional charges based on what you used to bag the trash. My fairly simple pickup of a mattress, record player, and 4 plastics bags full of leaves came out to over 300 fuckin dollars. Customer service was able to lower it to 90, but based on her reaction its a problem that must happen a lot. The scummy underhandedness of this company is astonishing. If you plan to use this service, make sure to FREQUENTLY check your account for extra charges and changes in the amount. You will likely have to call customer support more than you would a close relative. Having to fix this companies screw ups while getting ripped off is an awe inspiring business model read more

Absolutely disgusting company. Repeated examples of leaving my cans in the middle of my driveway so that I can't pull in. They consistently sent "nasty notes" to us about how we place our trash in the can. No matter what I did, I continued to get notes. They raised rates without notice by nearly 30% and didn't allow me to cancel service before I was charged. I never signed a contract nor agreed to terms since they bought BSS. But they charged me an absolutely ridiculous fee for can pickup. They're attempting to 1) charge a fee that I was not made aware of and 2) charge a fee to remove their property off my property. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! read more

Please go with anyone else or take the trash to the dump yourself. This company is shady and fraudulent. I had to move so I called to inform the customer service rep. Trash can was to be picked up May 5th. Well, the trash can never got picked up and they have charged us about $50 over the last month! Charged me $7 this morning! I'm assuming the $7 is because I called (yet again) yesterday to beg them to please pick up the trash can! I moved and my previous landlord is upset the trash can is still there. What can I do? Your company was suppose to pick this trash can up over a month ago! Predators! Why do you keep charging me? why can no one help me? Why is the trash can still there???? My suggestion is if you have to use this company, DON'T! This is a nightmare! Switching cable/internet companies was easier than this and I had to return the router! read more

This company is not responsive to a missed pickup for recycling. I reported the missed pickup online last Thursday and then was told Friday when I called that they were on the way. No pickup Friday. No pickup Saturday. I reported online again late Saturday. I called Monday and was told I shouldn't have reported it again because that re-sets pickup to Tuesday. It is Tuesday and I am still waiting for pickup from missed pickup last Thursday. My recycle bin is full after two weeks, so it has to be emptied every two weeks. I cannot go four weeks with no pickup service. Terrible customer service! read more

I had this service for some months, not even a year, the price was fine until they increased it out of no where. i didn't no reason for them to increase the price of the service. sometimes the service woudnt come on some weeks and it didnt make sense for them not to come. we requested to cancel and the fine for cancellation was alright, but they didnt come for the trash can, so we called again and we had to pay for the month when we didnt even use the trash service. I didn't like this service and I woudnt recommend it. read more

How is this company still in business? They recently took over trash pick up in my area. My mother has called them twice and twice has been treated with the worst customer service imaginable. Customer service rep, Jose, was rude and demeaning both times. My mom asked to speak to his manager and HE REFUSED. My mom said, " I would like to speak to your manager," to which he responded, "No you don't." He fussed at her for "interrupting" when she tried to ask a question. He aggressively responded "Stop interrupting! I am not finished taking!" She was simply trying to clarify what he was saying. Absolutely unacceptable. This is after they took weeks to deliver her new trash can and failed to inform her when her pick up day is. We are paying for this and are treated with rudeness and disrespect. I am debating reporting to the better business bureau. read more

This company has the worst customer service. The people I have spoken to on multiple occasions have been very rude. The charges have been increasing and the service has been terrible. Trash is being left in the street and cans tossed everywhere. Called to cancel and was told I could only cancel at the end of month so I did. I am now being told there is a charge of $37 per container to pick up. I think this fee should be covered in the price of the service which I was told it's not. Wish I could give them less than a 1 but 1 is as low as you can go. Our business cancelled their service on 1/23/2024 and the last bill we received had charges of $106 for February. I removed those charges since we cancelled in January and had another company in place for February. They have called multiple times trying to collect for services after we cancelled. Received another call from them today and I once again explained that we do not owe them anything and they hung up on me. They are incompetent at collecting trash and fixing their billing. read more

I had to cancel with Republic as they are constantly increasing their costs. Every statement was more than the last. Then the container pick up fees were half as much as the original statement.
