I wish I could give zero stars... I have never been so disappointed in a business ... I have two garbage cans that are to be picked up weekly and pay my bill quarterly. The last three times I have paid they have deposited by check but then send me late notices saying I haven't paid. Multiple calls to the office and they "can't find" my payment event though it has cleared on their end. They suspend service and stop picking up my garbage even after I provide proof of payment. Very poor customer service and shady business as I always have to pay a late fee before they will start picking up trash again! Republic Services finally done giving you chances - canceled service and never using you again!!!! read more

If I could give Republic Services a big fat 0, I would... they do not even deserve a 1! I have called 4 times now due to 4 missed pickups. Now the damn trash can is completely gone. I have asked for a call from a supervisor for the Terrell/Kiser Island Road area three times now to no avail. Truly thinking of opening a competing trash business for this area because Republic Services is a nightmare of a company! Becky Boan read more

If I could give zero stars I would. These sorry guys have dumped my trash in my yard more than once and when you try to get a hold of them they will not respond. Going on 2 days of them not coming back out to pick this up. They sure as heck show up to pick your cans up when you're a few days late on your bill. read more

I've been trying to coordinate a damaged container pick up for over 2 years! Again, last week they told me to pull container to curb and they'd pick up... it's been 5 days and it's still out there. I bet our neighbors appreciate seeing the container out there.... Tried calling customer service so I could follow up but they just leave you on hold forever. Not worth my time. I'll drive the canister to you and toss in your parking lot. read more

I'd give then no stars if that was an option. they jack up prices without informing you before hand. Customer service is rude. They will tell you a trash bin will be replaced and it never comes. I have trash. outside collecting flies and other bugs all because of their inability to make anything happen. trash is not picked up on the correct day lots of times. Zero credibility. Republic wants you to pay them immediately but at the same time I can't take out my trash. I give them. -100. don't waste your money on them. read more

If I could go lower on the rating I would. They was just inches away from backing into my car even after me telling them I was in the drive thru line behind them. read more

My experience today has been unbelievable. 1st the driver dumps trash on the road and runs it over. I stop him after he passes it twice and asked why he would do that he explains he can't see what he's doing. Call the 800 # and I get a return call from Ray the supervisor and he said he would call me back in 5 min. An hour later nothing. Customer service is lacking severely in catawba county. Now I will have an overflow of recycle piled up for 3 weeks. So if you criticize the garbage man they withhold pick ups from you. Can I withhold payment for the times they missed??????? read more

Service is terrible. They drove by my house twice in one month and forgot to stop to pick up my full trash can. Called them up to report the problem, told me that they would be back to pick it up. Guess what? Never showed up until the next pick up date. read more

i had no issues with customer service BUT the local workers have complete lack of common sense first they remove my trash cans, yes i was late on my bill but called and explained to them and they told me it was ok to pay late and then i pay the bill over 10 days before they removed them and then i had to wait over a week to get them back and i still haven't received my recycling cans and when they brought my trash bins to me they delivered them to my neighbors house instead of mine and were 2 days late delivering them..... they are complete airheads there read more

Never had issues with GDS \ Republic Services Hickory NC in the past. Ive stopped & started service at my rental & main property when renters move in\out, or pausing it to go to Florida for a few months. But June 14th '22 I broke my leg & hip and had surgery that day. The next day my Dr told me I'd be in skilled rehab for 8-12 weeks then need home health care after. Either the 16th or 17th (Friday) I called to pause (vacation hold) my service with RS & spoke with a Trinika. I forwarded my mail & disconnected Spectrum that day also, took notes of everyone I spoke with. My last RS bill was paid in May. I went to Rehab on Monday the 20th & moved in with a friend around labor day. I called to restart all my services soon after and was told I owed a bill for Hundreds of dollars. I spoke with Angela, she said my service was "shut off" for non payment, my account was never placed on hold. The trash cans were still there and my grass was knee high. If it was shut off, why weren't my cans collected? NO trash was taken out all summer. Angela said it was an oversight, she'd get it figured out or have a supervisor call, but no one did. I've called a few times to check on my account status, the bill still exists. It's a matter of principle at this point. My daughter & son-in-law have moved in there temporarily. I'm very upset at the way I was treated. read more

Would give a negative for them. How hard is it to pick up trash on the same day each week? Too hard for them it appears. After repeated calls and blah blah sorry on the phone week after week. Need to find someone else asap. read more

Make sure that when you talk to the office in Hickory, you get everything in writing because we just received another bill after we were told by the Hickory Office that everything was paid in full. We were never told of the additional charges. Also, they did not bring the garbage bin when we agreed it would be in place and had to call to find out where they were. The Hickory Office said they thought we had cancelled it. They seem very disorganized and not terribly sure of the charges that you are going to incur. read more

We recently switched to Republic Services because of the lower cost. A couple of months into our service, the price escalated. A few months later, it was $60 more than the original quote. I called to discuss the increase and was told it was in my contract. Our fault at taking the sales representative at face value without delving into the contract a little more. Since that is quite a bit more than our previous company, and with additional pickups costing even more in comparison to no extra charge with our previous company, we decided to cancel and return to them. The salesman came to our offices and after trying to explain that it was not going to work for us, he was repeatedly rude and said we would be paying a termination fee. With the increase in the price over the extent of the contract, it was cheaper to dissolve the service but he continued to belittle me and talk down to me. I repeatedly told him we were willing to pay the cancellation fee and we were done. He said he would be sending me a bill and picking up our container. Almost a month later, I am still being billed and the container has not been picked up and I have called customer service because we are not paying for an additional month's service when it should have been cancelled several weeks ago. Totally unprofessional, disrespectful, and a rip-off. read more
