i've been in New Brighton for 26 years. I've never come across a worse garbage removal company, their billing is so delayed and obscure. I owed them $45 in my mistake. They shut me off. I lost three weeks of service over $45 on an auto bill situation. Paid it on a Thursday still didn't get picked up on Monday. These guys are shit. Do not go with this company in New Brighton. They have the recycling contract with the city, but they are the worst. They literally pick up the recycling at 5:45 AM in the morning at my house go anywhere but here plus their prices are not worth staying with.. the city also has a contract for the recycling. They need to re-look at that situation as well. read more

these frauds will miss your recycling and then straight up lie to you that the truck is still on the way. then have the audacity to not credit you back. I would rate this company negative stars if that was an option. read more

Do not do business with this company. After 40 minutes on hold trying cancel my residential waste/recycling service, I was informed even though the service is cancelled, I will need to pay for the next two months. To get the bins picked up? $44.00/each, plus fees that bring the total for two to around $120.00. While I never agreed to this when we signed up, they said I should have reviewed page 2 of my (paperless) bill. I cancelled our service because they raised our quarterly rate by 35% without notice. All in, I'm spending $270.00 to not use their service - I even get to pay the increased rate because it was in the middle of the billing cycle. read more

Horrible office staff. Our billing is never right. They think it's ok to charge you whatever even though you have it in writing of what they charge. I have to call on every bill we get from them for the last 15-18 months. Gets old. I would be fired if I treated customers like this at work. read more

Long waits to speak with customer service. Missed pick ups. I have been a customer since 2014. It's time I move on to a new trash hauler.

Absolutely awful residential waste service. Extremely long hold times for phone calls. $85 dollar fee to drop off your 1st dumpster as well as a $85 dollar fee to pick up your dumpster when you DUMP their service. Very high prices as well as charges for compost waste they do not pick up. Do not ever allow them to set up auto pay to your bank account. They will complete unauthorized charges to your account and delay repayment for months. They will charge you weeks after you have closed your account and call it a glitch. Based upon my experiences with Republic Services those are my options. Many better companies out there. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. We were quoted $27 a month for our trash and recycling, and when we got billed every month they charged us $70. When I called and provided numerous estimates I received from them, and first payment stating my monthly bill would be $70, the woman on the phone decided to inform us that in the attachment fine print (that was NO where located on any of the estimates or the website when I paid) that we would incur fees. This company is deceptive and swindling people. Please use literally ANY OTHER service out there besides this horesh*t company. We are filing multiple complaints to the MN Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office. Cant wait for you to get sued from the attorneys. general office for millions of dollars just like Century Link did. read more

My review is based on the customer service we received from Anthony Valentine. When calling in with concerns with a contract that was signed for our community, Anthony was quick to resolve our concerns and find a resolution that worked best for us the customer. Although there are many negative reviews for Republic Services, my experience with the customer service so far is excellent. Thank you Anthony for the quick and professional resolution. read more

This company continually misses my yard pick up. The last time I had to call 3 times and it took them 3 weeks to pick up my yard waste. I have used them for years ans not had issues but right now I am frustrated and might switch as my neighbors don't seem to have issues with their services using other companies. read more

BEWARE!! Republic increased our rates, so we rec'd a more competitive quote from another local refuse company. Sat on hold for over an hour to cancel our service was then told I would be charged $30 per container to remove. Next day when they closed out my account, they charged me a late fee for the upcoming services. Read the fine print closely including all the fees and charges. They will nickel and dime you to death. Many times the drivers missed our yard waste pickups and I had to report missed deliveries. Know what your getting into when you sign up with this company. I found out the hard way. read more

Be sure to DOCUMENT (and maybe record) your dealings with the telephone staff at Republic Services! Since we were the only neighbors that used Republic, we cancelled our garbage service after we had paid for 3 months in advance. There's a steep drop off & pickup surcharge attached, so be sure to bring in your bins to the office! Well, we brought in the read more

HORRIBLE! I had been a customer for MANY years - EVERY year they raised their rates and when I threatened to cancel they reduced the rate to were it was - it became an ANNUAL GAME they loved to play. This time they raised the rate from a TOTAL of $55 to $73 - when I called to PLAY THE GAME - AGAIN - they wouldn't lower the rate. I shopped around and got a MUCH better rate - with LARGER cans. I called Republic back and canceled the service. A few days later I received a bill for $89.29 for them to pick up their cans. STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LASTLY - I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau - WOW - look at all the complaints they have EARNED for their deceptive business practice - read more

This company is a rip off first of all they tried charging us for service for months we didn't even have their containers because they had already picked them up. Now they are trying to charge us for picking up there containers and they will not provide me anything that I signed saying I would agree to paying a pick up charge. This is just plain wrong I say run as fast as you can from this company. read more

Forest Lake switched to Republic trash service after SRC wouldn't negotiate their terms... our neighborhood was supposed to start collecting last Wednesday and for some reason we did not get it picked up.even though we had our trash out the night before. called Friday after my son said we didn't get it picked up... they were supposed to be by Monday and still by 6 no show. I called them AGAIN and they said they don't know why we were the only ones on our block to not have been picked up and they would let the supervisor know and that they would come tomorrow... NOT HAPPY! This has not happened with SRC FOR 5 years we have had them! If they have not picked up my garbage by tomorrow I will be looking somewhere else even if it is more money!!! read more

I would give a negative star if I could. I have been a customer of Republic Services for 14 years, including 6 years with Troje's which Republic bought over. On 2/22/21 I received an invoice for the months of March to May that showed an increase of over 23%. I proceeded to call for bids from other trash haulers and was able to get a rate that is less than Republic was billing me even before the increase. I cancelled my service with Republic on 2/23/21, the next day after I received the invoice, which was dated 2/20/21, and before the next quarter of service starts. A month later on 3/21, I received another invoice from Republic which they credited the service I didn't use. HOWEVER, they proceeded to charge me with $60 container remover fee, AND they only credited $4.36 out of the $22.96 Fuel/Environmental Recovery fees for the months that I have cancelled my service, AND only credited $0.69 for the $4.53 for the Sold Waste Management Tax that they charged for the quarter as well, AND a $5 late fee for the 2/20/21 invoice which I had cancelled the next day after I received it. When I called and talked to a "Corporate Escalation Team" member named Kristen, who refused to give me her last name or location, she credited me with $40.42, by removing one of the container fee. NO credit for the late fee, (how could you be late if you cancelled the service and not supposed to owe anything?). So now I'm supposed to pay $47.02 to close out my account. She told me she is the highest chain of command I can escalate my complain to. She also told me it doesn't matter if I was a long term customer or short term customer. Well, after 14 years, I think I saved them a lot of money from having to get new customers, dropping and picking up and refurbishing containers and paying my bill on time. I checked with my new hauler, they don't charge anything for picking up the containers unless I cancel within a year. I strongly warn against using Republic Services as I think the way they charge their customers when they cancel is unethical. read more

I wish I would of read reviews on this company prior to selecting them as garbage provider. I have read quite a few reviews of people that have had the same experience when they decided to switch to another provider. When I cancelled my service I paid for the month I used with them but not the month in advance, I received a bill telling me I owed for the month I didn't use them, I called and explained to them, I wasn't going to pay for a month I didn't use their service. I was then told about the 30 fee per container to pick up, even though I feel that is bad business I was told I would receive a bill. I was then charged 10.00 is late fees, and turned over to collection. What!!!! It was within a month timeframe. I would never do business with these people again, if they were the last ones available. Extremely bad business habits. Zero stars for them. read more

It has been a few months since Republic finished their acquisition of my previous waste management provider, Randy's Sanitation, and it has gone less than smooth recently. A couple of months ago, Republic switched my account from Randy's billing system to Republic's billing system and the bill went up $120! There was no notice or warning of either the switch in billing systems or the increase. So I called into Customer Service four times over the past 2 months to try and inform them that I had negotiated a new agreement with Randy's shortly before their acquisition and that they needed to correct their billing or give me proper notice that they would no longer honor the agreement I had with Randy's. The first 3 times I was referred to a person/department who was handling all the Randy's commercial clients but that number was disconnected and the call ended each time they transferred me there. I called for a 4th time today and was basically told that I have 60 days to get the account caught up (I continued to pay the price I agreed to with Randy's) or my service would be suspended. There was no interest on the customer service reps part in trying to figure out if they would honor my agreement with Randy's or give me notice to end their service for my business. So I will begin the search for a new waste management company as it appears that Republic has no interest in keeping me as their customer. read more

They charge $55.00 to pick up their empty container after you cancel service. I should have had my new provider taken it away for free and dispose of it. Avoid using this company if you plan on not staying with them forever. read more
