The burger was terrific, great beef, thick bacon and perfectly fried jelopeno s. Nice heat without being over powering. Nice Northwest selection of beers, tried two, an ale and a No-Li IPA, very good with the food. Fish was lightly battered and she said GOOD. 2021.05.14 - This place is FANTASTIC!!! I got the El Here' Clams and my son got the Himalayan Sea Salt Pretzel to start. The clams were yummy with a little sweetness, full cloves of roasted garlic and a mild broth. The pretzel was soft and flavorful with large salt crystals on the surface and tasty dip on the side. I ordered the "Dirty" Republic Mac & Cheese. It was really cheesy but not overpowering. Nice shells for the pasta and bread crumbs on top. The Pork Belly was delicious. My son order the twice fried chicken sandwich, southern style. It was tender and juicy with a nice batter that was crispy but not hard. The flavor was good but not really distinct. Just a nice, mild chicken sandwich with delicious brioche bun. The Republic Seasoned Fries with roasted garlic cloves was to die for. Soft, tender and moist on the inside .... lightly crispy on the outside. I had a Repub-Chelada - yum! Nicely balanced spice. He had a V2K Hazy IPA - yum, yum!!! None of the bitter finish of your typical IPA and it literally had a "juicy" character with some hints of citrus We had a great time. The vibe of the place is relaxed and fun. The service was a little slow but that might have just been our server. The other servers here seemed pretty attentive. 5 Stars!!! read more

Food was very good! Elevated mac and cheese. I had the cheeseburger mac and cheese. Creamy mac and cheese, bacon, chopped up burger, more cheese topped and crusty with fried pickles and pickled onions on top. Served in a sizzling cast iron pan. Now the service was pretty indifferent. Not busy at all and I was sitting at the bar. Took 10 min to take my drink order and then my glass sat empty for at least 10 min before anyone came to see how I was doing. The owner and the bartender walked by me at least 4 times with no check in. At that point it was time for the check. I guess they weren't interested in selling me another cider. Recommend for the food for sure! Better service would have rated a 5 star. read more

We tried Republic for the first time today, and we were both disappointed. The double fried chicken sandwich is a huge no go. I'm a chicken sandwich fiend - it's what I look for on menus. They fry it twice.... but once is enough. The meat is overcooked, stringy and dry. The breading wasn't crispy, and worse, it was still grainy and floury as showed in the picture. Literally raw flour breading covered the overcooked chicken. I don't even know how that is possible. Every other fried chicken restaurant can get it crispy on the first try. I think in my case, twice fried just meant overcooked. The side of fries were soggy. My wife's burger wasn't good, but it was cooked and assembled properly. I'm not really giving them less stars for this because it was mostly a personal preference thing for us. The stone ground mustard on the burger was a miss for us, but others may love it. The pretzel was the only thing we enjoyed. I quite liked the pretzel. read more

I had high hopes for this place because of the amazing food pictures on yelp, but was slightly disappointed. The nice thing is that they were able to seat our group of 8 adults and 6 kids. The food took a very long time to come out. I'd recommend asking for sauce on the side if ordering nachos or fries with toppings, because they overdid it and both our nachos and fries were way over sauced and soggy. Maybe they were sitting for a while? They had a jalapeño burger that I was excited for, but when it came out, it was not spicy at all. I did enjoy my shrub cocktail. When it was time for the bill, our waitress took so long. We tried to tell her at the start which families were together, but she insisted that she had a easier system. We waited about 30 minutes for the bill, and it was all messed up. She even got mad at us! Since she was old, we gave her a break and just paid whatever bill she gave each family and just paid each other back. What was supposed to be an hour and a half stop for lunch on the way home from camping turned into 3 hours, which was mostly waiting, waiting, waiting.... Middle of the road here. I use to come here all the time, until recently I went to order a "to go" order. I had my young daughter with me and was ordering at the bar, no where else you can order due to it being extremely small, leaving little room for people to even pass, the server said my daughter couldn't be in the bar area. What!? Do we stand outside to order? Not sure what she expected. Needless to say, I won't be returning. However, if you can deal with the stupidity of that one server who has poor hygiene, I recommend everything. Unique plates, slightly over priced but at times, it's okay to spend a little more. They weren't busy after about 15 min of being there but they were so slow. Then the food arrived well this award winning burger was not great. The burgers are thick but only take up half of the bun and they were way over cooked. So we won't be going back. Fries were mediocre. For the cost it was so not worth it. read more

I have been to the republic about five times. I felt it was time for a review. :) The small house is situated in a residential area and is a Victorian style house on the national registry for historic places. It has a small bar and great shaded front deck. If I can describe their food in one word it would be unique. Today I went with my daughter. She is a picky eater but loved the crispy cauliflower tacos. Today I had the twice fried chicken sandwich Korean style with sweet potato fries, both delicious. Every meal I have had here has great flavors that you probably haven't tasted before. The service has always been excellent. It can get very busy during peak hours . They have several craft beers on tap and unique drink concoctions . I don't get five stars for restaurants often but I think they are deserving. Treat yourself ! read more

Pretty cool place. I liked all the beer selection, and the food was on point. Got here at happy hour and got the nachos, and the Jackfruit sandwich. Both were very tasty, but the nachos were better. The waitress is good at pointing you towards a good beer. The only downfall was the wait. It took a while to get, water, and a beer order. Make sure not just to walk in and sit down at the patio, let them know you are there. We did, and they were very appreciative. Just ate at this place and it was the worst food I've ever had! I am a north Idaho girl born and raised and it was just not the type of food i was raised on! They messed up our order and brought us the wrong food. Instead of getting us the right food they served the people around us before bringing us the right food! Also added a 20% gratuity on our bill.
