I guess after being here for almost two years, it is finally time that I write a review about how amazing this place is. For me, it is not only a gym, it is a home away from home and another family. I have been coming to Evolution, (or EVO as it is more commonly known) since June 2015. I started in their month-long intro program because some of my friends who had been through it already convinced me to try it out. I have to admit that I was kinda scared going into it because when anyone sees CrossFit videos on YouTube or the Games on ESPN, you think that there's no way you could ever do this!! Needless to say, the Intro program was exactly what I needed to slowly start on my journey. I have a few friends that do CrossFit at other gyms, and none of their places have such a comprehensive and mandatory Intro program. At most, you find that most gyms will just have a class or two (maybe a week) for free to try the class, but no "intro" specific class. I liked the fact that 3 times a week for a month, I would come to my intro class, and learn side by side with the people who started with me. It helped us form friendships and made it a little more familiar. Every class was a new lifting technique that was broken down by the coach, who also kept a strict eye on each person as they did the movement individually, and corrected things as necessary. The head coach and co-owner, Brandon, really has a way to make people feel welcome and not intimidated. He has a good combination of seriousness and humor while coaching that makes the class much more enjoyable. Most importantly, he knows his stuff! The other two coaches, Mario and Walter, both started at Evo as students and have been coaching for a few years. Each of them bring a different style of coaching, yet, they all teach the technique the same. I think that is super important, so people don't get confused. I started at Evo just barely weighing 100lbs, and could barely lift anything, but within less than year of going 3-4 times a week, I was able to put on close to 15lbs of lean mass, and lift things that were close to my bodyweight, if not more! I feel healthier, stronger, and happier as a result. Lately, I started the Adult Hapkido program with a few of my fellow CrossFit ladies after watching their first class of Black Belts get promoted late last year. The best thing is that our monthly UNLIMITED membership covers both CrossFit and Martial Arts!! WHAT!!! Jason, the other owner, Brandon, Amir, AJ, and Bailey are great instructors. The amount of knowledge they possess make it hard to find any other place that compares with Evolution as far as Staff goes, which explains why Evolution is recognized by the Martial Arts History Museum and the owners are part of their Hall of Fame! We all just tested for our first rank (Orange) this past weekend! It was a great experience, and I can't wait to continue on my journey.I never use to like working out before coming to Evo! haha! Now, I look forward to getting my butt kicked in a WOD or on the mat! If I can do it, then anyone can do it! Thanks Evolution! read more

This is the place to be for everyone and anyone who is interested in CrossFit training. Their beginner's course is phenomenal. It introduces you to the wild world of the sport and if you stick with the course, you'll fall in love with the workouts just like I did, which now made me a regular member of the gym. The trainers, and even some of the veteran members, do their absolute best to help you understand every movement, and go over it with you until you get the hang of it and perfect it, in time. The best thing about the place is the spirit of the members and the trainers there. We motivate each other and push each other to the limit to bring out the best of our capabilities, and then some. The only two downsides that I honestly see with this place is the timings of the classes, and of course, the pricing. Regular crossfit classes are weekdays at 5, 6, and 7 pm. Saturdays at 10am, and they also have 5am classes on Monday and Wednesdays. Everyone has a different schedule, and you have to be able to work yours with theirs before you commit. The bright side is, they're planning on adding more morning classes in the near future. Pricing might be justified compared to other places, but at the end of the day, it's still a bit too much. Regardless of that, I see value in what this place offers, and the potential of these workouts for my body and overall health is endless, and that is what truly matters most. To simply put, if you truly want to rebuild your body and get in shape, this is the place to be, granted you have the right motivation and dedication that takes to actually have the will to make a change in your life. read more

My 2 boys and I enjoy going to Hapkido classes at Evolution. The instructors Mr. Jason, Mr. AJ and Miss Bailey are awesome. They are extremely patient and encouraging with the kids. My 7 yr. old has gained more confidence in a sport he truly loves and can't stop practicing it. He can't wait to train with the nun chucks when he reaches that belt level. My 4yr. old is in Tiny Tigers class. After few months at Evolution--he's now more disciplined and following directions in a positive environment. They are encouraged to study hard at school and learn about respecting the community. Every class is a different setup--the boys always look forward to their next Hapkido classes. They never get bored. I take the Hapkido adult program. Mr. Jason and Mr. Amir are also patient with the class. They encourage and motivate the class to try harder without pushing. Most of all everyone in the class are supportive with each other to do their best in a fun setting. The owners--Mr. Jason and Mr. Brandon are amazing in what they do. By the way, you will notice there are many positive/high ratings about Evolution. You may think it's too good to be true. Everyone at Evolution has many reasons why this is a great place. Mainly it's the motivation, the respect and fun/safe environment that makes everyone want to go back and continue on with their training. read more

I can not tell you how much I love EVO. I was introduced to EVO due to their Parent & Child hapkido class on Sundays. They are one of the few in he Valley to provide such a program. Jason and Brandon are AMAZING...the patience and passion they transfer to the children is really so amazing to witness and see how much the children enjoy learning hapkido. I soon found out about their Crossfit classes and decided that it was something I wanted to try. I was a beginner and after having both my boys I had not entered a gym in years!....I fell in LOVE with Crossfit! The coaches were amazing, they helped me so much by pushing me and never allowing me to give up. I will always be grateful for my box. If you decide to join, you are joining an amazing family...everyone is so welcoming and supportive of each other. There are no other boxes in the area that have the feel that this box does. And that is why Evo deserves more then 5 STARS! read more

You often hear people associate crossfit with the words "community", "family", etc., but you really wouldn't know what that means until you walk in to this box. They just have a welcoming vibe and family feel to them that can not be seen in other places. I have been to two crossfit gyms myself around the valley and I'm just happy to call Evo Crossfit my second home for the last year and a half. The trainers Jeff, Sam, Jason, Brandon, Mario and Walter are nothing short of amazing with their exceptional attention to detail. I credit all of them for all the motivation, and splendid fitness that I now enjoy. Whether you are a novice or advanced practitioner of crossfit, this place would certainly be able to fulfill your fitness needs. read more

Awesome facility with great people. Not only does the Crossfit program offer an amazing workout, you get to enjoy your fitness journey alongside some amazing human beings. This place has it all: weight training, rope climb, tire flips, and it even has a private parking lot for running/sprinting. The thing I like most about this place is how meticulous the coach is. He ensures that your form is correct on all movements before any weight is added. With this training program, I have added 10lbs of lean muscle! More importantly, I have noticed significant strength gains as well as increased my speed and agility on the basketball court! If you live in the San Fernando Valley, this place is definitely worth checking out! read more

When people say Crossfit, people usually associate that with various injuries from shoulders to back to knee to pulled muscles and always tell me how hard it is. Many people, friends and trainers alike always tell me not to sign up for it. I'm never one to listen nor to judge, so I decided to try it. AND I LOVED IT! I was intimidated at first, but the coaches eased me into it. They were very knowledgeable and worked with your strengths and weaknesses. Everyone else in the gym were also friendly. They treated you like family. It's that combination of excellent coaching and camaraderie made me keep going to evo. I highly recommend Evolution martial arts and crossfit to everybody! You won't be sorry. read more

Im an IT professional based in Seattle. Just went to Cali to do some work related stuff. Came with my niece on her hapkido class and behold, i enrolled and now im loving every single minute of it. Its hard to find reputable schools here for martial arts and after attending their grand opening, i found the proof that i needed to get hooked. The two owners Brandon and Jason are great. They learned their art from the best of the best in the industry. They really get you pumped and push your body to your limits when it comes to doing things the right way. I havent felt this great since. I highly recommend their place if you want to get in shape. Keep up the great work guys. read more

I highly recommend Renzo Gracie Evolution. My daughter has been attending this location since 2022. She initially began with the Hapkido program, and when Renzo Gracie Evolution acquired the facility, they expanded their offerings to include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. She now participates in all three and is truly enjoying the experience. The instructors are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, respectful, and professional. I am extremely pleased with the quality of instruction and the supportive environment. It's been wonderful to see my daughter grow and expand her martial arts training through such a well-rounded and reputable program. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Evolution. The instructors are great- knowledgeable, encouraging and patient with the kids. The Hapkido classes are fun yet also disciplined. My 11 year old daughter has been going there for 10 months and we have seen such an improvement in her confidence level and self esteem as she conquers new belt levels. There are many weekly classes to choose from, so the schedule is flexible to suit your needs. The gym is always clean and organized. I highly recommend Evolution. We are extremely happy with our choice to send our daughter there and will continue to do so. read more

My 3.5 yr old daughter has had an incredible time taking classes at Evolution Martial Arts! Mr. Brandon and Mr. Jason bring the perfect combination of fun, concentration, skills and respect into the classroom. We have noticed a great improvement in our daughter's listening skills as well as her balance and technique in the short time we have attended classes there. We are excited to have our 2 year old son join the class as soon as he is eligible. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great environment for their children to have fun while learning self-discipline and respect. read more

It's been a little over a year since my last review. I can't believe I've been taking regular classes now for over a year. I've been working hard losing body fat and gaining lean muscle. I want to thank all my coaches who constantly push me even though some days I don't want to work out. If I were at a normal gym I would have probably left. Everyone here keeps you motivated and at the end of the workout I feel fantastic. I'm looking forward to another awesome year here at Evolution. If you're looking for something to help you lose fat, make friends, and just have fun look no further. read more

Master Jason and his staff are elite. Walter and Mario are awesome at CrossFit. I have never worked out a day in my life and these guys ushered me in to a foreign world with grace and care. I highly recommend them. The only reason I have gone to train somewhere else is my driving schedule puts me to far from the academy. You will be impressed with this company and I tell all my friends about them and encourage you to start with Evolution Now! read more

SERIOUSLY JUST GO!!! This Studio just opened and I'm so happy it has. The crossfit teacher Brandon is very specific about technique and knows when to push and when to lay off. I've gone here now for a couple of weeks with my daughter who's 14 and we really enjoy the space and the instructors. I'm also looking forward to seeing their kickboxing program.
