I went to the RENTZ office on Saturday, January 12 with my trailer fender specifications, gave them to the Sales Manager, Mike. Was told it would take 1 1/2-2 weeks. Called January 28th wondering why Mike hadn't called me back. Apparently Mike hadn't called the manufacturer. On February 4th Mike called to say the fender was in. I advised that I would be there as soon as I could arrange for someone with a truck. On February 7th I picked the fender up. On Monday February 11th I sent an email with pictures and an explanation to Mike because the fender did not fit on the trailer properly. The holes did not align properly, the inner side of the fender was not flush with the trailer, but raised by 1/2". Mike responded telling me to bring the fender in, that it was the correct fender, that he ordered by my specifications. There were a total of 4 emails sent with pictures by me. On February 13th I took the flatbed trailer with the fender back to Rentz. Mike came out, looked at the fender and said that the back of the trailer must have been hit from behind. I said "Don't give me that". Just an excuse for the company's shoddy workmanship on the fender. Mike went back into the office, then a shop employee came out to look at the fender and he said to me "it ain't built right". We left the trailer at Rentz. On Saturday the 16th, I called Mike to ask what was happening with the fender. He proceeded to tell me that it had been fixed, and that he said there would be "no charge" for putting another fender on. I was very upset because the fender was defective and it was not my doing. Mike was very argumentative and hung up on me! On February 22nd I picked the trailer up. The work was completed. I explained to Mike that his attitude on the phone, considering the mistake on the fender was not ours, was unacceptable. We are the customer and him hanging up was immature and juvenile. He agreed. Then this little man in a blue shirt, (did not get his name), butts in with his know-it all attitude. He says the under carriage of the trailer was not built properly. I will phone Aluma and let them know that Rentz, or should I say the little man with the blue shirt, feels they make an inferior product. Then he started to question what we have been towing, for how long, the weight, why we were towing, how far, etc., etc. seriously!! None of his business!! We are quite familiar with trailers and their cargo capacity as we own several other trailers. I would rather never, ever own another trailer than deal with Rentz or this Sales Manager, Mike and his childish attitude again, or the little man with the blue shirt that seems to know-it all about everything! Disgusting, condescending, immature staff. Only thank you is to the honesty of the shop employee that called you ALL out on YOUR mistake. but you became defensive like you made the mistake! The manufacturer that made the fender is at fault AND if it wasn't done incorrectly the first time, then why did you admit the error and fix it...the second time? read more
