This is the worst service provider I have seen in decades. They don't care if your unit remain vacant for months. Neither do they follow up on renters that are past due. The worst company ever. I rented from them in 2016 and ITS 2025 they are trying to garnish my checks for no apparent reason. The house had already neeed to be repaired when we moved in. The roof or siding had a whole in it cause we had rodents living in the wall. The windows was broken. I still have pictures. Now tgey trying to sue for over 20,000 and they been garnishing my checks for 2 years already. Yall crazy. They waited until it was time for us to move out to wanna come start fixing on things. I do not know how it is possible to run a company this poorly. I signed my lease only because the location was good and I did not have enough time to look elsewhere. But the agent Johnathan lied to me even then, ever since that "non-negotiable" lease "agreement" it has been quick fix / patch job maintenance, non-responsive service requests, and a complete lack of accountability. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, I can not emphasize this enough. the "prosses" of getting anything done is a nightmare. (think about the movie Ford vs Ferrari with the red folder scene). The agent tried to hide damages when showing the property and on the "inspection" before handing me the key. I would rather pay way more money and just go strait through the owner than this third party. NEVER AGAIN read more

Paid $90 in fees for applications and then never heard back. Our agent responds but apparently the home owner lacks professionalism and common courtesy. I'm sure the lion's share of homeowners are not like that but maybe Renter's Warehouse needs to reevaluate their clients. Probably time to drop that particular client. Our experience with Renters Warehouse was awful! They are one of the most disorganized and least customer focused companies I have ever worked with. We became clients when Renters Warehouse bought out our previous property management company. We found them to be unresponsive to both our tenants and us. When we would reach out, they would direct us to a customer service number that took a lot of our time and was unable to solve our problems. Even the smallest request by our tenants took weeks of time, requiring multiple emails and phone calls to get any action. It felt like we were managing both the management company and the property ourselves. We ultimately cancelled our service when a tree limb feel in our yard. Renter's Warehouse wanted $75 for a quote and $2000 for removal. We had the tree limb removed ourselves for $200! After we cancelled our service, we had to ask for our tenants deposit back after it wasn't offered. We paid the balance of our account to Renters Warehouse when we cancelled, but they have continued to contact us over a year later claiming there are unpaid invoices with their vendors on our account. A vendor emailed us separately and threatened to put a lien on our house forcing us to pay this balance directly to them for a second time. We were told by that vendor that Renter's Warehouse was not paying them for work they performed. To future landlords: any company can do a better job at management than Renters Warehouse. To future tenants: if you planning on renting a property managed by this company, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere (or at least get your property owner's personal number). read more

This company is good with maintenance requests however anything money related Good luck. Ever since they went under new management or a restructure of their business They will give you the run around and stop responding to your emails when referring to payments. They will also find any reason to not give you your security deposit. I am currently working with my attorney regarding numerous claims. We did not choose this company to manage our property but they purchased the business from our previous management company ( who was wonderful). First off we were sent emails telling us how great they were and how many more benefits both owners and tenants would have with them.....so far no explanation of "all the benefits". A month prior to the change we had a new tenant move in on a year lease for a property with rent of greater than $2300 per month. First month we receive an email our tenants lease is expiring in less than 6 months......I emailed the sender of the email explaining their wires must have gotten crossed in the transition. He looked up our account and verified they had the current lease on file and cc'd the "property manager". One week later I got another email alerting me our tenants lease was up in June. I just disregarded it. In mid April our tenant contacted us via email that the AC did not seem to be functioning correctly. The service tech had been there the week before to do routine maintenance and alerted me there were some problems with the unit. At that time we placed an order for replacement of both units for a cost of greater than $15,000. This information was provided to both the tenants and the "property manager". As there had been no response from the property manager to any of the emails, I sent one asking if the emails had made it and cc'd the regional director. Finally an answer in which I am informed to go through their online site or call site for any issues/ problems. I responded indicating the previous company and property manager communicated with me directly, knew our property and our tenants, and had a rapport with our building manager (high rise condo) and asked if this would not continue. The reply I received was to be provided with their call center number and their web site. Neither owner or tenants are high maintenance folks but deserve to have at least the courtesy of a professional relationship. This company is getting the same monthly fee as the previous company so that is not the difference. In the meantime temperatures climbed and AC functioning decreased. The tenants sent emails to I and the "property manager" which have still gone unanswered by the "property manager". I contacted the HVAC folks to do a weekend call and knowing that the ordered units are special made, ordered a portable AC unit for the tenants. Do you think the "property manager" would respond to thank me for doing her job! Even the company name should warn one of the type of service this company provides......we will be looking for a new company. read more

Home address is 351 Conway Downs, Creve Couer MO 63141 Home had major plumbing, water, foundation, mold and insect issues since day 1. See pictures below for details of horrible mold. Family including young children and babies suffered major health issues, including fevers, coughs, vomiting, etc. Issued complaint to attorney general on 05/06. Still no action taken. RW and homeowner refused to treat the issue despite the health impact, continuing a trend of unresolved issues. This company is an agent for the homeowner only, existing exclusively to maximize the homeowners profit by cutting repairs. DON'T LEASE FROM RENTERS WAREHOUSE!! They don't care about tenants, only their bottom line, how much money they can make/save. If I could give less stars, I would! They rush getting you in, getting your money and have no interest in making your move-in experience and tenancy enjoyable, comfortable or livable. Moved from outta state--a big deal. When I initially saw house, was aware it needed some minor fixes, like cleaning, gardening and paint. I was told it'd already been cleaned and NO NEW PAINT was happening--but if I wanted to to do myself w/ own money, they might approve that. I had questions and concerns about the house that went unanswered and pushed off, but in good faith I forged ahead with lease signing and had no idea there'd be sooooo many issues with the house and furthermore, that Renters Warehouse would be sooo negligible. Move in process was disorganized, chaotic and confusing. There is no main contact to speak with when you have issues outside the realm of service requests and paying rent. If you have qstns about how a function in the house works, good luck--like fireplace, or access to locked ac unit . . . their process and system for dealing with new tenants is highly irresponsible. I was given utility providers that didn't exist or were incorrect--proof Renter's Warehouse had NO IDEA what was going on with the house I was renting, they had no idea house was electric! Setting up new utility accts should've taken me an hour, but instead took me half a day, of my workday scrambling to find the right service/utility providers. No walk thru inspection was performed on day of move-in because, I was told, bc they were practicing "social distancing", yet they grabbed the cashiers check right from my hand before giving me the keys! If a walk thru occurred, and I was afforded a deeper look at the condition of the property before or upon moving in, I WOULD NOT HAVE MOVED IN! First week in, there were major issues! Flooding in basement from multiple sources and Renters Warehouse took 2 days to get back to me on what to do. I was scared to use shower, W/D, dishwasher bc I wasn't sure what was causing water leak. I called renters warehouse and was told I had to report emergencies and maintenance requests via online portal. I tried to set up my "online portal" account, but they couldn't find me in their system. They said the property address was associated to a lease that didn't have my name on it--even though I signed the lease AND GAVE OVER $3K weeks prior!! So until they could find me in their system I couldn't set up portal account to handle property emergencies or repairs, hmmmmm cozy way to welcome new tenant. Other issues: -cabinets looked fine on outside, but upon opening, fell off hinges -ac unit had leaks, needed other repairs and service maintenance -toilets flushed only sometimes -shower drain was backed up -the backdoor was jammed and didn't lock, open or close properly -lightbulbs had been taken out or burnt out and weren't replaced all throughout house, in garage and exteriors -some numbers of address were missing on mailbox -where there used to be/should be a gate on side of house, was gone -bushes trees and lawn was over the top overgrown -trash and even dirty diapers in backyard -brown splatters and stains occupied all wall space in every room -mold and mildew were caked in shower and bathrooms -major gaps btwn floors and walls in basement, due to no baseboards -even ac filters were missing upon move in! When renting from this company, you won't have a direct contact person, only an online portal where you pay rent and maintenance requests. There is a main phone number that will link you to a call center or "coordinator" who dispatches your inquiry through various dept's at Renters Warehouse. Service/Maintenance requests will be responded to 24-48hrs later, and not every request will be approved. BUYER BEWARE read more

If I could give no stars, I would! I was informed that an inspection needed to be done on the house I'm renting from them. Shonna Stewart emailed me and then ignored my follow up emails when I had questions. The guy comes today and takes pictures of my personal space/stuff (bedrooms, closets, bathrooms) after being asked not to. I cannot stress enough that you should run from this company. My last review received one of those "That's not our usual experiences, call me" follow ups. I called, I didn't get a call back and no resolution for my complaint. That's why I'm coming straight to you, the consumer. THEY DON'T CARE! I wish they did, but they don't. Good owners care about their tenants and they don't send inspectors out with instructions to take pictures of your personal stuff. Especially, against your wishes. read more

When my husband and I rented a home for 2 years upon moving to St. Louis. This was the worst company we could have chosen. The maintenance people can 2 or 3 times though we called several times for water leaking in the basement, carpet being mildewed and needing to be replaced. Nothing was ever done. Worst company ever!! Even when we moved in, we gave our security deposit. A few months later, we were told they never received it. Turns out the person who assisted us with the rental pocketed the money, and they later got it back from that person after accusing us of not paying the security deposit! Great thing we are great advocates and record keepers! Beware....we ignored the negative comments, and here we are still awaiting our security deposit though we left the rental 4 months ago. read more

I called four weeks ago about having my current house rented using Renters Warehouse as my management company. I was assured by the person taking the call that an agent would contact me within 24-48 hours. I never heard back from anyone. My guess is that after finding out I don't live in a glamorous neighborhood near trendy tapas restaurants they chose not to attempt to earn my business. read more

don't recommend Renters Warehouse to anyone. It has been a very challenging relationship. They do not call you back, ever. So if you have a problem that needs resolved, it won't be easy. Their accounting system is very difficult to understand so the billing statements are always unclear. There is very little to no communication. You get the billing statements and that's it -- then good luck getting someone on the phone. This company does not treat its clients with respect, they are not attentive, and they do not operate with integrity. That is of most concern to me. Today I had a very positive experience with Malika Owen. For the very first time in over a year my question was resolved quickly. Thank you Malika for being attentive, treating the situation with care, and the respect that I deserve as a client. This company took over the management of the house I was renting and they're terrible. I moved out after giving the proper notice and their leasing agent didn't even show up for the final inspection. Then after leaving the house spotless, they deducted several hundred dollars from my security deposit for repairs and also deducted for utilities they said I owed. There was absolutely no damage to the house and I paid the utilities but now I can't get them to answer my emails. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. read more

This company defines itself as "the largest property management company in the US". Think about it potential renter's - do you think that scale is going to help you and put you in a privileged position dealing with these guys? The answer is no, of course not. The entire business model of this company involves using their scale and position to push around the renter's to get a better return for themselves and homeowner. They address no repairs, give you the constant run around, have the worst, almost disgraceful customer service, while adding absolutely no value to the process. Let's make this more salient with just a few examples: 1. We have small children. Despite this, they have refused to treat the home for an infestation of poisonous brown recluse and wolf spiders. 2. A window on the main floor that provides immediate access to the home has been unaddressed for a month. 3. Broken exterior lighting, broken plumbing has not been resolved for 3 months. If you are a renter, use your power to run away from any home managed by this joke of a company. They exist to squeeze you at their and the homeowner's benefit. They have people working there that do not know how to communicate to their clients, the owners of the property they manage! No one returns calls in the corporate headquarters. Their service for cleaning and rekeying are a scam! I paid over $500 to a company they hired to clean a house and they came twice and I still had to take pictures of everything they DID NOT do! Like fan blades, baseboards, clean out the refrigerator, blinds had what looked like soda sprayed on them...Then I wanted the keys changed for the new tenant. They hired a company and had them change the LOCKS!! for $400. Rekeying would have cost half that! No one from RW told this company to rekey! Do they not know how to handle new tenants as cheaply for their client???! I was so mad. They look out for their vendors, not their clients. It is a money making scam they are pushing! They took over the property I live in and I had no idea until months after they owned it. I got a call about a complaint from my neighbor. The next time I talked to them I called and asked someone to call back about a date to move out a little early and was told someone would get back with me and never heard anything else. Unfortunately I had to use them due to the previous management company placing a tenant in my rental that could never pay their rent on time & damaged my property. Renters Warehouse was great through the entire process of collection, eviction and legal. Each associate I came in contact with was always pleasant and professional. The rental process was great also! The new tenant I have is thanks to agent Jonathan Sherrill. He was honest & professional. He had my rental occupied as he said he would. Avoid....at all cost. Unfortunately my property management company of 4 years decided to get out of business and they transferred all their properties to Renters Warehouse for the remainder of the current tenants lease. At that point you can reup with them or pick someone else. We are going to go with someone else. Thank god, they are not allowed to change anything in the current lease and thank god we only have to deal with them for a few more months - although at this point I am trying to see if we can get out totally. By far the biggest issue is that the communication is terrible. While we were told we were being transferred, at no time did RW tell us what office locally we would be listed with. There are two. Calls to the office that made sense to me location wise were not returned and I only found out it was the wrong office because my tenant told me as she ran into the same issue. Local phone numbers to contact them are not necessarily local. I just got off the phone with someone in the Phillippeans. How in the world can this guy really help me with a property in St. Louis? I indicated that someone local that works for RW needs to call me ASAP. We will see if that actually happens. My tenants have had 2 issues since RW took over that needed a vendor to come fix (AC and plumbing)- we are not slumlords, we have always taken care of any issue quickly. By following the procedure, the tenants place a request and then RW verifies that we say its ok to address. In both instances, there has been an unnecessary time lag from where the tenants have made the request to us being notified. in both instances they were given the go within an hour of the request arriving in my inbox ( i don't always see my emails immediately or it possibly could have been quicker). The tenants ended up texting us in the meantime as RW did not let them know in a timely manner (like even a simple email- we sent the request to the owner on this day at this time and are waiting) what was up and when they did get a hold of someone to inquire (After being on hold for an extended amount of time) they were told RW hadn't gotten a hold of us yet... Lies.... we were not notified in one case days later from the initial request and in the other case almost a whole day. I am not understanding if an emergency comes up why I wouldn't be notified quickly- especially if the request was placed well within work hours and not at 2am or something. UNACCEPTABLE... Another issue is, RW has yet to let me know what the cost of the repairs actually were. I was told the status of the work was still pending (even though it was taken care of). So RW makes no attempt to follow up???? If I had not asked would I have never gotten the bill? Or would I be billed like 2 years later.... Again... this is unacceptable. We have already explained to our current tenants that we are going with new property management and to be expecting that change. I know they like the property and want to stay, but I ultimately think that they would move elsewhere if they had to stay under RW. That would be totally unfortunate as they are the kind of tenants you want to stick around. So basically, if you want a property management company that is not really local, has crappy communication, and poor service feel free to go with RW, but if you actually want a decent property manager please research other options... read more
