I rented a generator after a large tree took out our power lines, during the recent storm. I called at 7:00am on the dot and was greeted warmly by Rob. He set up my reservation quickly and when I arrived a short time later, he had my generator ready to go dry AND gassed up. Very knowledgeable & helpful! This place gets 5 stars from me because after arriving home I had a bit of an "operator error" and Rob, kindly drove out to our home to help troubleshoot the issue. Thank you Rob! read more

Gates locked and closed up before stated closing time. I had even talked to an employee 20 minutes before and told him I was stuck on the freeway, for the past 2 hours, because of a fire. I was told to take my time and they'll see me when I get here. Just to show up to locked gates. Seems like a scam, they closed early now I'll be charged for an extra day. Thanks for nothing! Was very much looking forward to Rental Guys taking over an old Grass Valley rental yard because it really needed new management and many other things. But, improvements have not occurred. In fact, it's worse than ever. Ordered 1 yard of concrete in one of their 1 yard Ucarts. They loaded 1.5 yards and it spilled all over public roads. On another occasion a man there who seems to be the manager told us that if we paid him in beer then we could avoid certain charges. That's the last straw for me until another company takes that location over. Mark my words, their gonna get somebody killed! read more

I wish I could say my first experience was positive. After getting a promise from Robert the manager that I could pick up a excavator in the morning, I showed up only to see my excavator being loaded on someone else's trailer. I stood at the counter for over two minutes before the person there turned around and acknowledged me waiting, there was only one other person on the property. They would not deliver a larger excavator 2 miles down the road because they were afraid it could get busy. Then the staff would not give me the managers phone number. This left me with no options, a crew to call and cancel and a horrible experience to consider when I need my next rental. read more

rented a chipper it worked good and the guys there are nice but they rip you off on gas prices charged me over 7.50 a gallon when gas was 4.25 i can see a little mark up but to charge double is a big rip off also they do not ask if you want to pay for insurance they just automatically add it . did not say to bring it back full of gas i know better but forgot. won't rent from them again just because they want to get every nickel from you. read more

We needed a heavy tractor to move material so we rented a John Deere 210. Hansen Bros. Did not have one available that day. Hansen's quote was $100.00 less so maybe that was the reason. I think only contractors generally rent a tractor like this. I think they usually work with contractors and not homeowners so maybe my expectations were unrealistic. The tractor was "beat up" in appearance and had low air in a front tire. It went flat under front bucket load. We had difficulty getting air in the tire as the front hub partially blocked the ability to fill the tire. Eventually we got enough air in to function. Other than that the tractor performed well. Robert said he would make an adjustment for this but he did not. Delivery was as scheduled but the tractor was left for two days after I was done with it. Service was friendly and they got the rental accomplished. I will try not to use them again. read more

Rented skid steer machine for a day delivered, then noticed hydraulic coupling broken. Called immediately for service (no part in stock), company rep said to use it if it snapped in; did, sprayed a shower of fluid... asked for a tractor swap and they delivered another tractor within two hours. Called back telling them my concern about time lost and now calling them to pick up in 2+ hours. They put me at ease by telling me "just call us when you're done". I honestly didn't think they would charge me for two days given a faulty machine. No settlement call from them, just an additional $500 charge on bank account. Then I called to see if we could work a compromise and I got a rep arguing with me, a customer. It's not my business, though in a small community you certainly want to attract additional business, not hard line tactics for short term gains. I sincerely hope they change for our contractor community. read more

I've seen some negative reviews but they're all from attempted diy people that should not be doing diy. If you can't repair a basic in field repair, hire someone to do the job. These guys have good, well maintained equipment, they can't predict minor failures, no one can. If you want to diy, be a diy'er and be marginally capable of the job and knowledgeable in the equipment your renting. If you're not, hire a pro, don't just blame the rental guys for personal incompetence. I rent from these guys, mostly trailers and small equipment, Hansen bros has a great selection of bigger equipment but many times they are booked out on the smaller stuff read more

Was a great place when it was Gold- N-Green but unfortunately it went down hill when it was sold. They do not pay there employees well they do not come up to help when there are problems with there business . They layed off a worker that's been there for over 12 years with a family, and gave him no reason. Seems they are basically wanting to push the gold n green workers out so they can bring there own workers in. Very sad to see what this business has come too.. read more

had a very difficult project which needed a specific unit. rented a e35 bobcat excavator from there reno location which was payed in full. these jokers tried to bring me a case excavator that looked like they dragged out of the swamp, which i refused, then they issue full credit. found out they rented the unit to a better customer who needed the unit longer. money moves this company not honesty, trust or integrity. read more
