Don't let the "Discount Fabric Warehouse" sign fool you, this place is a LEGIT Singer sewing…read moremachine repair center. They repaired my Mom's 50-year-old Singer sewing machine. Mom initially complained that it wasn't fixed so I took it back and it turned out to be user error! The manager, Jean, explained everything so patiently, gave great advice, and even let me take photos with my phone to remind Mom about the proper steps to reassemble the machine into the cabinet and thread the bobbin. They seem to truly love their jobs and want people to get the most out of their sewing experience by using everything properly. Darrell kindly helped us load the machine into the car, and he doesn't even work there. They sell machine accessories like needles and carrier cases. They also seem to be a distributor of Miele vacuum cleaners, if you are looking for those. Oh yes, and fabric. I saw some beautiful Hawaiian and Asian print bolts at the back and middle of the store.

This review is for Bernie at Discount Fabric Warehouse in Hilo. I would give her 10 stars! She has…read morehelped me so many times over the years, and every single time she is consistently kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. She is always smiling when I see her, and she has such a calm, sweet nature that immediately makes you feel comfortable asking questions. When I come in with a project, Bernie doesn't just point me in a direction - she actually brainstorms with me, offers suggestions, and helps me think through what would be most helpful. Even when I change my mind (more than once ), she never makes me feel rushed or annoying. Her patience is something I truly appreciate. I always look for Bernie when I come in because I know she is willing to help and will do so with kindness every single time. Honestly, if it weren't for her, I would probably just go to Walmart - but Bernie is the reason I keep coming back here instead. A lot of customer service these days feels rushed or impersonal, but Bernie is different. She consistently takes the time to be thoughtful, speaks kindly, and makes the experience enjoyable. She is truly an asset to this store, and management should be very proud to have her. Mahalo Bernie! Also for the store itself, I do want to add that I do like the prices I think they're fair, the selection is decent, however I wish people would stop buying out all the palaka. Please put a limit on that if there isn't one yet.

Pickup is convenient! Do NOT get Shipt!…read more You cannot return items & they do not tell you this upfront. It is extremely difficult to get a hold of a live person. They think noting of telling you an arrival time and then change it to the next day. So, don't count on them if you need something right away. I think shoppers must "claim" your order and several others, so delivery takes a long time. I will not renew my subscription. The one is for the second to last order. It is okay if you never need to return anything. I will do pickup instead.
