The Hooshing propane tank adaptor was stuck solid on the tank. Mr. Angelo Palermo was able to unscrewed it from the tank. He saved me from having to purchase a brand new 30 lb tank, regulator and hose. This was my first time there. It won't be my last. I am a Happy New Customer. read more

Worst scamming company on island of Hawaii. Paid them quite a lot of money to build propane connection for colleman grills...did not work...went back to the company,was told we never build this cable...when l produced a bill, manager said, this is not our bill....MEVER EVER DO NO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.... read more

I would give a negative rating if possible. ... On about the 18th of August we bought a dometic refrigerator from them. During the sale the floor salesman's 16-24 month old son ran up to me and struck me in the ground. First time I gave no response. Second time I looked at the father and said he needs to teach his son some manners. Then 2 weeks later I went in to deal with a warranty issue. I told them that by hand I tried to do an adjustment. They jumped and said I automatically voided the warranty. Then it comes out that they were pissed at my attitude toward the little boy. Totally stay away from these people. They are over priced. "Butane is the bastard gas. I sell propane and propane accessories." - Hank Hill Friendly, fast, and reasonably priced. Hilo Propane has basically all of the things that you would want in a place where you'd come for your propane and propane accessories. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the great Hank Hill would certainly approve. Located in the industrial area, HP is in a pretty central location in town. I think my favorite part about coming here is that if you have a pickup truck, you can simply pull right up to their big tank and they'll fill you up without even making you take your tank out from the back of your truck. It makes life so much easier when you have around a nine or ten gallon tank. Those things can get pretty heavy when full. Although I haven't ever had to get anything from their shop, they do have a ton of pieces for any sort of propane system that you may have, which could be really helpful when even places like Home Depot and Ace Hardware don't carry them. When you come here, you can expect a no B.S. experience, which I can appreciate, and I'm sure most others will agree with me. If you're switching from electric to gas, I'd highly suggest giving Hilo Propane a try. read more

While they're nice enough if you want to fill your tank, or buy something off the shelf.... Do not try to have them order something for you! After waiting 6 weeks for my stove, they accidently gave it to someone else. They put in another order. So I was patient and waited 4 weeks to call them. They said any day now. They kept telling me this for another 2 weeks. Then I came to find out they had't sent in payment and my stove never even shipped! I'd much rather support local companies, but with service like this I had to go to Home Depot. read more

Nice guys, didn't need to lift a finger. They got my tank, filled it up and put it back in my car for me.

Most of the guys have always been nice and friendly, offering to tote your tank, etc., if you need it. But now, when you go to pay, the new-ish cashier is unfriendly to the point of being quietly hostile. She must be someone's wife or girlfriend, to have gotten hired. I never understand why someone like that wants to work in a job that requires public contact. read more

Bought a defective 'heat on demand' water heater. Originally, they sent me home without the adaptors that came with it. Back to town. Then they argued that is must be the plumber's fault. When we discussed the return of there product, they insisted I call tech support. I set up a meeting with tech support. He did not show up. I returned the unit. They tested it and found it to be defective. They returned the money and said they would waive the restocking charge of 20%. 4 days later and $20 of truck gas, I was back where I started. Manager was rude throughout. read more
