After very minimal use (and no abuse) it developed chips in the formica in more than one location. Additionally a seam allowed water to penetrate and the top has swelled/buckled in a very conspicuous spot. Note this was all after just a couple months of light use. The company was unwilling to offer anything to us- replacement, repair, nor credit for the poor quality workmanship of the product. Needless to say I'd recommend not using Cherry Street for counters!

They deferred me to Animal Control and they were no help. Having no idea what to do next, I called a local contractors office fully expecting to be put off. I couldn't have been more wrong. I had the great good fortune of having my call answered at 3-R Contracting by a kind gentleman named Lee who was immediately tuned in to my worry and concern. He knew just what to do and said he'd be right over. And he was. Literally minutes later, this clean-cut, smiling youg man was at my door with saw and a bendy neck camera (not the technical term but that's what it looked like) that could see around corners and within 10 minutes he had located my cat, knew just where to cut the drywall to get to him and helped me get him out without a scratch!! He even asked for a broom to clean up the drywall dust!! (Which of course I didn't give him I was so grateful!! Can you believe it?!) Then I asked what I owed him and he said, "Ma'am, the story is good enough, but can I get a picture of you two?" Of course we obliged. What an incredible gesture of kindness and generosity!! In this day and age I think we've become accustomed to expecting the worst from people. The owner is the best builder in Virginia. He is not only professional but honest and builds what you want and what you can afford. The entire staff at Graystone are all wonderful people. From start to finish we were treated with professionalism and kindness ( and most of all patience as this was very important to us). We chose a beautiful colonial on three acres of land that was very carefully cleared to our specifications. We were assigned a designer who helped us in all of our selections both inside and out. All of the decor was top quality and there was a great selection for every room in the house from flooring to the bathrooms. It is important to know that when you chose Graystone homes to build for you, you are getting a custom home from top to bottom. That is what we wanted when we bought our first home and Graystone met all of our needs. We have been in our home three years now and have not had any major issues, in fact few issues at all. While the deck looks okay. I'm disappointed in the lack of finishing. For that much money, I shouldn't have to do anything and I'm quite disappointed and would not recommend. Ron built a beautiful library for us in an unfinished basement. His attention to detail,…read moreprofessionalism, and ability to manage the myriad of construction issues that confronted us was remarkable. He approached problems as challenges and his solutions were always creative but solid. His workers were polite, hard working and easy to have around every day. He himself was here virtually every day and the project was finished a month early in time for a family Christmas visit. He was a great communicator, open and honest but accommodating whenever possible. We have never had such a positive construction experience. In fact when the job was done, much as we love hanging out in our gorgeous library, we kind of missed him and the crew.
