Many months ago their project consultant Edgar Nieves came by to give me a bid on 1 window & 2 exterior doors & wasted about an 1.5 hrs of my time with verbal promises & mentioned some astronomical amount of $20k+ & stated he would email me the quote so I could reference. Yet many moons later I never received the quote & had to follow up numerous times to their office where the lady kept promising they would send ect ect & yet still never happened. The lady initially said the quote was in their computer then eventually changed her story to con me into another visit. then I still kept following up & the lady starts saying they could send out their manager who would give me the best prices correctly. I mentioned of how a customer could compare the best price if I never received the original quote. These jokers are the most unprofessional insincere group of sheisters I've ran across lately. Well considering I still wanted the types of products measurements to reference later I allowed for another visit. Wasting yet another hour of my time already understanding these Anderson renewal peeps aren't honorable. Got my quote by email during the 2nd inspect with another crazy astronomical cost but now I at least had the opening measurements.. yippee. I would never recommend nor would ever have Renewal by Andersen peeps ever do any project in my lifetime because they say one thing and do another being totally dishonest & if the quote process is that difficult one could only imagine what their installation process would be like. Bunch of jokers trying to rip off the public trying to get any unsuspecting people to bite on their outrageous quote. They never apologized & dragged my lengthy inconvenience to get a quote for numerous months where they never initiated a follow up call one single time forcing me to constantly call them. I found out that my elderly mother (81 yrs old) had contracted with them for windows back in October, because she called me complaining about the price and their tactics. The first thing I did was attempt to connect with the sales person on LinkedIn so I could talk to him, but he refused my request. That was the first hint that I knew something was up. My Mom told me that her windows were due to be installed in April. They told her this was because they were not in stock and it would take that long to arrive. She told them that that would work out fine because her daughter would be visiting and be there during the installation. However when she told me that the windows were going to cost $35,000 for 12 windows, I nearly fell out of my chair. My Mom had asked for a breakdown per window which he never gave her until January but it didn't matter because she had already signed the contract. She had asked him for a copy of the agreement but it was all on his laptop according to my mother, and she never got a paper copy as requested. Can you imagine my 81 yo mother trying to read a contract on a tiny laptop screen? It's ludicrous. He also never told her she had 3 days to cancel by law. I tried calling the national headquarters next. When they FINALLY called me back they absolutely would not budge. And come to find out, when they got wind that I had called to inquire, JUST to inquire, they immediately put a rush order in for the windows and suddenly they were "at the warehouse" two or three months before they were due to arrive. Now, they said, she would owe a restocking fee. And furthermore, they straight up lied to me and said that they had made a special accommodation for her by waiting until April to install. This was categorically untrue. Then I found out that the sales rep had called her and offered to help my 81 yo Mom put these windows in her garage until April. And when she said there was no room, he offered to come over and make room. In the end, she ended up having the windows installed because she felt like she didn't have a choice. But she certainly did not keep them in her garage. They use strong arm and high pressure tactics and that makes them sleazy. And this is coming from a real estate agent. The fact that the sales rep not once got in contact with me says EVERYTHING. Stay far far away from this company. They charge 5x as much- 3,000 PER WINDOW! And the pressure you to sign on the spot and don't give you a copy of the agreement and don't inform you of your consumer rights. read more

Renewal by Andersen is a bit more expensive but it is so worth it! They communicated so well, our sales guy John Perez did such a great job talking to us and helping us select the windows. Then our project manager John as well called us to let us know what to expect and kept us up to speed on our order. It was originally going to take 7 months but to our surprise we got them in 5! And then the crew worked so well together, the install took 2 days but they were all so professional and the windows Oh my gosh!!! They are breathtaking! Product was very good (once installed), but customer service was not. Ordered doors in August 2022. However the first door to arrive was damaged. To their credit they did not remove old door and I waited for a replacement. I was offered "compensation" for the long wait. After inquiring, no one ever got back to me with what that compensation would look like. Doors FINALLY installed in April (however no compensation). If financing through the company, read contract carefully!!! The sales person stressed that I would not have to pay until the doors were installed. However I was asked to start paying at the 6 month mark even though I did not have the doors. Had to dispute the payment. read more

They were so bad, I now have to look back and just laugh. It's the only thing I can do. I have a hearing impairment and I requested 3 times for them to email or text me but they would only call. Finally, after the 4th request they responded through email. Rep came to our home, measured and told us they could replicate the 3 arched windows, BUT, they would have to be 6 separate windows with a mix match in window grids and sashes to make it work and the two side windows couldn't be operable as before. They then said there would be a sticker shock so in my mind, I doubled all of the other quotes we received. Not even close. All of the others were able to match the existing windows and grid pattern and they were a little under $4k. Anderson quoted $20k for a mix-matched approach and I about fell over. My only reaction was to burst out in laughter. What a joke. It was hard keeping a straight face as the rep tried another sales tactic by making me feel bad for their recent layoffs and lack of sales. It's funny how they try to use different words and phrases to make them sound better than the other window companies when they're 5x more expensive than someone else who has a longer and better warranty. read more

When we bought our house two years ago (November 2020), we knew the windows needed to be replaced. It looks like champion had a contract with the company that built these homes, because most of the houses in my neighborhood have the same ugly, brown windows, obviously some homes have had their windows replaced. Our old windows were literally falling apart. You could feel the air flow though the windows, especially on windy days, so my husband had to use silicone to stick the windows back on the frame. This was a temporary fix. You could feel the morning heat and cold air throught the windows. Most of the screens were missing, the windows wouldn't open, the ones that did open, couldn't stay up, so we had to use a stick to help it open. You could hear all the noise from outside. There was a noticeable temperature difference between the first and second floor. The first floor was cooler than the second floor, during the winter time. There was a huge difference of about 10 degrees during the summer time, with the second floor always being hot, even though we bought special curtains that block the heat. The second floor was always dark, because we had to keep the curtains closed to keep the heat out, otherwise it felt like a sauna inside. We finally decided to set up an appointment for a quote with Curt Hammock, a nice gentleman. The quote we received was $48.6K, which we thought was way too expensive for windows, but you get what you pay for. After we saw Curt's demonstration, we were sold. We thought of it as an investment and boy, were we right. We placed our order and our windows were on a three month backorder. When our windows finally arrived, it took about a week for an install appointment. The installation took two days and the guys did an amazing job, absolutely outstanding. I'm IN LOVE with my windows. The material on these windows is thick and sturdy. We can no longer hear the outside noises. There's no longer a temperature difference between the first and second floor. We leave the curtains open all day now and it does not get hot inside. The windows keep the heat away and have a light tint to them. They're also easy to clean because the windows fold and you can remove the windows from the frame if needed. The screens are one piece. We ordered a one piece windows for the first floor, to prevent burglars from opening them and getting inside, it also prevents my teenager from sneaking out at night. Our AC hasn't been on for the most part and it feels nice inside, which means we'll be paying less on our energy bill for a long as we live here. I absolutely love my windows. read more

Very Happy with the Renewal by Andersen San Antonio Team. Curt did a great job in getting our two 4 panel sliding glass doors ordered and scheduled for installation. The office staff was diligent in keeping track of the job and scheduling requirements. HUNTER'S TEAM did a super job with the installation. They arrived on time and professionally installed two large 4 panel sliding glass doors. The entire install crew was job oriented getting the large door install completed professionaly in one day. Also, the crew worked hard to ensure the doors were leveled and square in the already existing frame work, making for a smoothly operating door. Joell came by the day after the install and did nice job of finish work and touch- up paint. A "Job Well Done", is extended to the entire company. Will recommend. read more

A car dealership is a place in which most if not all people try to avoid like getting their teeth pulled. It is filled with highly trained sales people whose goal is to make a profit by reselling a generic product to the masses. This is exactly that Renewal by Anderson is. While their products are windows and siding, their strategy is the same. We were considering them for siding, however I had to work during the appointment so my wife listened to their sales pitch. I overheard some of it and the sales person was insisting that I was there with them or they would leave "aka reschedule". I KNOW my wife is perfectly able to relay information to me and we make the choices together. This "we need your husband with you" to us, implies that the woman cannot relay information without her husband in the room? They would have rather have me there for ... get this.. an hour and a half presentation.. for SIDING. We had ANOTHER company come over recently (when I was working) and he spoke with my wife. I took a small break for about 15 minutes or so) to chat after he was talking with her outside. The guy was easy going, straight forward and told us that our siding was in decent shape but could use a little work in certain areas.. OMG HONESTY! That honesty is what people deserve, not this company. Note: this guy from another company did not even come in our house! He said he did not need to! We are also going to get a window estimate from him.. and I asked him if he needed to come in to measure the windows... NOPE! :D Renewals by Anderson sells a generic product and adds marketing and sales to it. Look elsewhere for a smaller company is my advice. A smaller company with fewer onion layers. read more

My daughter worked for Renewal by Anderson Windows in San Antonio. She was in a motorcycle accident two weeks ago and informed them she could not come to work the next day, as she was in the hospital. She communicated everyday with updates, and four days later, they fired her. Shame on you, Mel. I hope nobody ever treats your children the way you treated my daughter. She was lucky to survive the accident and then you do this. If you treat your employees this way, how must you treat your customers? read more

I wish I had written this review sooner, the install team actually came by a couple of months back. Firstly, I cannot recommend Anderson windows enough. The windows are A++, not just stylish but we noticed the temperature difference almost immediately. Yes, they're pricey compared to other windows, but with good reason; they really are the tip-top quality in the market. But what really impressed me was the install team. Jake and his crew drove over an hour from San Antonio to Kerrville and arrived right in the middle one of the heaviest rainstorms we've had all year. Somehow, amidst rushing water and thunder crashes, these guys threw on some ponchos, removed and replaced 5 large windows, custom cut the wood trim, drew the most perfect caulk lines I've ever seen, and then cleaned up and went home - in the course of maybe 4.5 hours! It completely blew me away. Again, I highly recommend both the windows and the crew. read more

We had to have a window replaced after the recent hail storm an we LOVED Renewal By Andersen! We had such a positive experience from beginning to end and the product is nothing less than stellar. Steve came out and showed us all our options and gave us the time and space to make a sound decision, no pushy sales at all. Once the window was ordered, it was about 4 weeks until it arrived, which in then we had another wonderful experience with the installation and follow up. The crew that installed the window was punctual, very attentive, polite, and professional. They did an awesome job, cleaned up the mess, and hauled away the old window, no problems. We also had a follow up call from the office to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Needless to say, we are very pleased with our experience and LOVE our new window. It has actually inspired us to think about replacing the other windows in our house and will most definitely be using Renewal by Andersen to complete the job. Renewal by Anderson is not the cheapest windows out there, but they are the best. We had old single pane windows replaced on our front and back house and a double sliding patio door built in with quite a bit of construction work. Brian Moore was our lead, and the entire experience was amazing. So much communication throughout the process! The crew members were very fast and efficient and were so very respectful and courteous to our home. I would hire them for any job. Absolutely loved the upgrade to our home. Our air unit is running a bunch less, and the windows are very high quality and beautiful. So much difference from other windows we looked at in our process. read more

Renewal by Anderson of San Antonio replaced four picture windows and a sliding patio door on our hill country home, and we're extremely pleased with the quality of the product and service. Product quality is good and the installation team is absolutely top notch. The issue is that communication of design was very poor and we were sold some windows based on their discretion and not our direction. I carefully walked through the current and desired design myself and after all was done and I reviewed the contract terms (never seeing window design specifics again) signed where told on a tablet without ever seeing the finished window design or layout. Contract was simply agreed to as having valid and agreeable terms of sale and overall price. Later when the measurements were taken, they had my wife sign the confirmation and buyer acknowledgement. Issue is she did not help design the window pattern, was not present when we did the original design, and has never seen any description as to what the different design terms mean. She was simply given and asked to agree to a verbal description of the window design while never seeing a single design picture. Additionally I was not provided a copy of the Buyer Acknowledgement with any design information so I had no idea what she had mistakenly agreed to since I could not be present. As a result of this poor communication and we had 2 sets of windows that were incorrectly designed as picture windows as opposed to correct double-hung to match the existing and desired replacement. This leaves an entire room with not a single window that would open to let fresh air in. After almost 2 weeks of silence the best solution they could present was an additional $5,200 bill to build the 2 correct windows! Management has poor communication skills and likes to skip right past the pertinent information of what you are being sold to push the contract. Management also puts very little effort into any kind of a fair resolution as they have an air-tight contract. DO NOT SIGN RIGHT AWAY. Take your time to review the contract and design specifics, force them to provide description and window mock-up information and maybe your experience will be better. Or, better yet shop elsewhere that has a better customer based management team and save yourself some headache, money and months of a project dragging out. We opted to finish with an alternate brand window as I could not stomach managements solution. read more

Its not only difficult to contact these jerks, but when you do you get an appointment it does not materialize. They merely call and stand you up. Call and you will get voice mail that puts you on hold and pressing buttons for lengthy periods of time. If you want windows replaced find somebody else to deal with, because if their work is anything like trying to get them to estimate a job, it can't be much. read more

The final product was good, but there were issues with work quality that we had to report repeatedly when we were asked to evaluate. There were defects in raw material had to be pointed out again and again. It would have been much better if the construction and finishing processes had more robust quality checks built in. We had to keep requesting fixes that we had already requested. One of the project managers gave it away after we reminded him that we were referred by one of our neighbors from up the street, to which he replied that if he had known that before, he would have made sure we had the same construction crew as the neighbor. I was more relieved that the job was finally completed than I was pleased with the outcome. read more

This is my second go around with Renewal by Anderson. The quality of the windows is beyond compare; rooms that were 10-15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house are now the coolest rooms due to the windows. However, the install experience was not pleasant this time. The install team, Martin and Mary, were great--professional, knowledgeable, conscientious of my home. The windows they were able to install were done great except for some plaster around the upstairs window that will have to be fixed I guess by me. One set of windows had been measured incorrectly and subsequently did not fit, which I'm sure is not horribly uncommon. The problem for me and reason for the poor review is the lack of communication about how the problem will be fixed and when. Several manager looking people came to the job site and not one bothered to speak to me about the issue or how it would be resolved. I got a brief wave through the window and then they disappeared. I now have 3 partially removed windows, blinds that are down for an undetermined amount of time and no idea when the project will be completed. Would have been another great experience had I gotten any input from the managers rather than them dumping it on Martin to deliver the bad news with the little bit of information he had about how it would be resolved. read more
