Following house visits/sales pitches from three companies, we chose Texas Made Windows and More to…read morereplace the 40+ windows in our home. They were not the most nor least expensive options, but wowed us with their customer service, industry knowledge and written warranty policy. They also came highly recommended by neighbors and online reviews alike. During installation the crew noted malfunctions with four of the windows received and installed. We had three subsequent house visits/window inspections from Jerry, his son & a regional representative (of note, these took MONTHS and repeated calls to execute). During these inspections various issues with installation were noted and recorded to include missing plugs, chips in windowsills from install, gaps in surrounding window material, and windows screens that don't cover the entire window opening as ordered/designed. Additionally, one large picture window has a very noticeable defect in the middle (as explained by the regional representative it is a blob of glue from the manufacturing process). Despite multiple post-installation inspections, accompanied by written and verbal confirmation of defects with intent to replace or repair, like other reviewers we too have been met with silence from Texas Made Windows and More. Phone calls are not answered and voicemails are not returned. This was a significant expense. Texas Made Windows and More, through their continued silence, has made it clear the defects and promised corrections (despite being provided in writing) will never occur. We do not recommend using Texas Made Windows and More for window replacement services.

I'm posting this text of a BBB complaint made on 6 August on behalf of a friend and neighbor: On 29 January 2025, I signed a contract with Jerry Dixon of Texas Made Windows to acquire windows from a window manufacturer and install same in my whole house with a total contract value of $27,000. On 29 January, I paid 50% down of $13,500 via check and on 31 January paid an additional 25% down of $6750 via check, for a 75% down payment of $20,250. The 29 January contract noted an anticipated delivery time of the windows from the manufacturer of 4-6 weeks, which would be no later than mid-March. Due to TMW's non-performance of the 29 January contract and as amended, and in material breach thereof, I agreed to meet with Jerry Dixon in person on 27 June to discuss a refund, which resulted in the signing a second contract in which TMW agreed to refund me $17,820 via cashier's check to be hand delivered to me at my home no later than 18 July. Due to TMW's non-performance of the 27 June contract, TMW is in material breach of that contract as well. For virtually the entire time since the original contract was signed, communication from TMW on the status of my window order and also since the refund contract was signed, communication from TMW on the status of my order/refund has been evasive at best and nonexistent at worst. Accordingly, due to TMW materially breaching two contracts and holding my $20,250 since 31 January, I sent a legal demand letter mailed on 25 July via certified mail, return receipt requested, with receipt signed by Jerry Dixon on 29 July, that TMW immediately refund the full contract amount of $20,250 and remit full payment via cashier's check made out to "REDACTED" within ten (10) business days from 25 July 2025, or 8 August 2025. As of the date of the BBB complaint [6 August], no reply or contact has been made by TMW.

The type and color of windows I wanted were back ordered but they were upfront and accurate on the timeframe for their arrival when I placed my order. Once they arrived they were able to schedule my install very soon. It took them a total of 2 days to complete the entire project, including paint and cleanup. Every person I dealt with, from sales, measurement, installation and clean-up, was professional, thorough and showed up on time. Based on this experience I'm already getting a quote for another project.

Larry Bindel, the owner of First Place Windows, was not only the most thorough but he was also the nicest guy we talked with and he delivered a professional quote. His price was not the lowest but my wife and I liked him and his delivery and we spoke w a few of his customers. We believed and had it proven that Larry really loves his customers and does right by them. Our windows came in when he said they would and the windows were installed from 1:30-6:30 the afternoon we set up. His installers, 2 guys, worked in the heat and did a great job. They laid plastic over everything nearby before they started and then cut the two large windows out and replaced the old with the new. They caulked around the new windows and cleaned up the mess and left. Larry and his son were there also to oversee the job being done. The new windows let no heat in and we cannot even hear our water fountain against the window. The difference is incredible! Silence is golden. Lol. Plus the windows that Larry installs have a much lower bottom window than the other windows we looked at. We liked this because u can see much more. I believe like 85% more. The other windows seemed to be more 60/40 where u could not see as much. Anyway, we loved Larry and his team, the windows, the service and clean installation and very quite and professional manner. I had a handy man completely remove the exterior trim and re-caulk. That didn't solve the leaks. Other vendors recommended everything from water tests to full-out replacements. After last night's bad storm, we had a lot of leaking. Carlos came over within one hour of calling him, the very same day. When he arrived, he went up on a ladder and asked me to grab my ladder so he could show me the issue - the windows had either never been glued properly, or the glue had deteriorated in the hot Texas sun. Either way, the solution was applying glue to the *bottom* of the windows where they sit in the vinyl (not fixing the top which is what other folks always gravitated to.) The first thing I did was attempt to connect with the sales person on LinkedIn so I could talk to him, but he refused my request. That was the first hint that I knew something was up. My Mom told me that her windows were due to be installed in April. They told her this was because they were not in stock and it would take that long to arrive. She told them that that would work out fine because her daughter would be visiting and be there during the installation. However when she told me that the windows were going to cost $35,000 for 12 windows, I nearly fell out of my chair. My Mom had asked for a breakdown per window which he never gave her until January but it didn't matter because she had already signed the contract. She had asked him for a copy of the agreement but it was all on his laptop according to my mother, and she never got a paper copy as requested. Can you imagine my 81 yo mother trying to read a contract on a tiny laptop screen? It's ludicrous. He also never told her she had 3 days to cancel by law. I tried calling the national headquarters next. When they FINALLY called me back they absolutely would not budge. And come to find out, when they got wind that I had called to inquire, JUST to inquire, they immediately put a rush order in for the windows and suddenly they were "at the warehouse" two or three months before they were due to arrive. Now, they said, she would owe a restocking fee. And furthermore, they straight up lied to me and said that they had made a special accommodation for her by waiting until April to install. This was categorically untrue. Then I found out that the sales rep had called her and offered to help my 81 yo Mom put these windows in her garage until April. And when she said there was no room, he offered to come over and make room. In the end, she ended up having the windows installed because she felt like she didn't have a choice. But she certainly did not keep them in her garage. They use strong arm and high pressure tactics and that makes them sleazy. And this is coming from a real estate agent. The fact that the sales rep not once got in contact with me says EVERYTHING. Stay far far away from this company. They charge 5x as much- 3,000 PER WINDOW! And the pressure you to sign on the spot and don't give you a copy of the agreement and don't inform you of your consumer rights.

He made the appointment on a day that turned out to be particularly cold and called ahead to tell us he would be a little late, which we really appreciated since repairmen oftentimes simply don't let you know. He laid out mats and wore shoe covers to make sure there was no soiling or damage to carpets or the floor. The job was done cleanly and professionally. They matched the paint with the caulking so well that we didn't have to paint, even though they arranged to get the paint color so we could if we wanted to. My wife was particularly impressed with the way they cleaned up after themselves including using a vacuum.
