The place is unchanged with a buzzing atmosphere, great service and great food. Yesterday we ordered the Ziyafet Sofrasi. To start of with hold and colt mezze, always excellent here and a must. That was followed by a mix of meats as mains, equally good and finished with baklavas and Turkish coffee. And that all with a nice bottle of Yakut Turkish wine. A great evening out.

The big bonus is that it is bring your own booze, they currently charge £2 per head corkage but this is worth it when you can save a fortune and bring your own drink along to have with your meal. Food is traditional Turkish and is really vey lovely, choose small meze dishes or larger ones and they were all lovely. Service was good and they were happy for us to stay and finish the drinks we brought without hurrying us along. When we were last in there was a mix of clientelle, a lot of families with children and groups of people celebrating (bing your own fancy champagne!!!) Parking would be available on the streets in the area and I think it is family friendly and access is good. Highly recommend!

We had a mixed platter and patatas bravas as starter, spaghetti carbonara, chicken saltimbocca and monkfish as mains and affogato and waffle as dessert. All great. Best place in Aberdeen!

And wherever you go you always try to find something that reminds you of home and your mummy's food. Christos tavern is an OK tavern for someone living abroad. I have heard people saying that it is one of the best restaurants in Aberdeen, and maybe it is, but as a Greek I have to say that if this tavern was in Greece it would not have been very popular. The decoration of the tavern is a bit cheesy, and the food is not as great as proper Greek taverns give out. It is eatable and fresh, but again it cannot be compared to the Greek whole flavour taste of a proper made Greek dish. However, what I really do not like is the attitude that if we are a company of more than 8 people we have to pay the bill together, and not use our cards individually for 8 times. So yeah, I believe, that if Christos (the owner) could put some more effort into his business it would have been a nice restaurant in the city centre of Aberdeen and he would see many more Greek faces joining and advertising his premises :)
