FUN STORE!! There's soooo much to look at. Also, there's a downstairs part of the store that's just full of costumes. The employees there were very nice, but there are only two of them with this big store. I understand that it's a very touristy kind of place, but I wish I brought more money. I've frequented their main store in the Lithia Plaza for years. Always good fun to look for costume pieces and it was one of the first stops for my teen son on our recent visit. So I was interested to visit the new 'costume shop' in the Railroad District that opened this summer to see what they had in stock. Renaissance Rose offers a variety of themed costumes you can rent or purchase. They have packaged costumes similar to what you'll find around Halloween at other retailers, but also some more interesting pieces. At this point their website seems to be pretty basic, so hopefully that will expand in the future. After visiting both stores, I think the main location still has the broadest selection of items for purchase. Especially wigs, hosiery and accessories. But, if you are looking for a more unique rental, then the costume shop is worth a visit. I was most interested in the hair pieces near the back of the shop. read more

I came for the wigs and left with everything else. I had an amazing experience at the store. It's well stocked, fun and you're going to either find what you're after or they'll go out of their way to help you get it. There's also a bunch of local crafts and 'mom & pop' style goods in the store, all for reasonable or better prices. As far as the wig experience, that could not have gone better. I was able to try on a few, found one that was amazing and even got it mended for free after I discovered a loose strand after I took it home. A+ experience at this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

This is one of my favorite stores in Ashland. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and plentyof things to look at. Today, I only bought three buttons but I love their selection of clothing and hats! This is a super fun store! Judging by the outside, I almost passed by without entering, but when I looked in the windows a bit closer, saw it was a pretty big place, so I took my curiosity for a spin, and I'm glad I did. This is more than a costume shop. In addition to the LARGE selection of wigs and masks, they have some unique and hip apparel, including hats, stockings, cool tshirts, jackets, dresses, etc. I bought a black bowler (hat) that I love! Previously, I'd only found that style hat online, and could hardly believe I found one in a brick and mortar store. Rose's also has a plethora of novelties. The selection of pool floaties is a must-see as well as the collection of wing sets. Five stars because not only do they have a bunch of cool stuff, but they also have a cool staff. I love this store! I shop or browse here everytime I visit Ashland. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and there is a vast array of unique clothing, jewelry and hats. The prices are reasonable and there are lots of sizes available. I only spent a few bucks yesterday, and yet the staff remained very attentive and friendly. What a fun store to visit! If you visit here, you have to go to the lower level, during the day, where they store all the Halloween costumes. There are a lot of cute clothes at pretty reasonable prices too, and lots of accessories. Like wigs, hats, wreaths, wings, boas, etc. read more

This store has a secret they adopt out homeless cats. They just had Flame tip (orange) Siamese babies that never had a mom, abandoned in blackberry bushes. They are ready to get a new batch of these wonderful cats, also Orange tabbies many rare females! More Siamese Flames will be coming as they are rescued. This is the most loving Orange tabby guy I've ever had and I've had cats all my 70 yrs. Imagine never knowing warmth nor love. read more

This store is downright incredible and amazing. This is by far my favorite clothing store in town. Every time I go in there, I feel like I am on a treasure hunt. There are so many wonderful items to see. The prices are reasonable for the most part and they always have something for every budget. Their front window display is always stunning. They have everything from clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, accessories and more. When I swear I am just going in there to browse, I never leave empty handed and I have never regretted any of my purchases. WOW! What a creative gift Renaissance Rose Costume Shop is to Ashland and surrounding areas. I have never experienced a costume shop that is so ALIVE with choices, creativity, amazing assistance from Jess and Ann who are so accommodating to get a customer exactly what is being sought. I find myself just wanting to go back and look because there are so many eras and characters waiting to be experienced, not to mention ALLLL the accessories that are available to stretch one's own imagination to be creative with a whole new look. I actually have some things from the Costume Shop that I use in everyday wear because of the original look I enjoy wearing. Oh - there's all kinds of face decor, too. I am so grateful to have Renaissance Rose Costume Shop in my town for ongoing inspiration. It's entertaining to just go in and browse, not to mention renting costumes and playing with new ideas for upcoming events. Love this store! I always make several stops here when I visit Ashland. The only downside is the downstairs, Gypsy Rose, which used to have a lot of really cool, funky vintage wears, and now is almost entirely costumes. read more
