Booked a king bedroom. I'm very clean nice view of the stadium across the street. The bathroom was clean. Restaurant was very nice and the food was good. If you book your king bedroom with a breakfast for two you get two free breakfast entrées and two free drinks. It was worth it.

The rooms were an okay size. I got a king bedroom and I didn't feel cramped. Also got a high floor with a nice view of the bridges. The concierge lounge had okay food. Wasn't the best I've had, but consistent with the downgrades Marriott has done to their concierge lounge food options after COVID unfortunately. But the staff at the lounge (Judy) was extremely friendly!

Such an amazing hotel!!! The lobby is beautiful, and my room was huge with an amazing view! There was a clog in the sink, and when I informed the front desk, they were quick to take care of it. A few of the staff could be a little friendlier, but overall an amazing stay! They even brought my DoorDash Starbucks order to my room. That in itself deserves 5 stars!! Lol! I would definitely stay there again.

I visited this hotel for a work conference and found it to be a pretty good stay! The conference food was really great quality--definitely order their giant cookies! The Lobby/Bar area was nice and updated. My room had a great view had a cozy bed. The room did have a very odd smell to it but that could've been a neighboring room's takeout. Great location with many restaurants and things to do within walking distance. I'd be willing to stay here again.

I paid a hefty amount for my weekend stay and was extremely disappointed in the condition of the room. I opted for the corner suite as we were in town celebrating a birthday. The room was grungy and visibly poorly maintained. Valet staff were excellent; quick, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is beyond mediocre with chain restaurant options. The common areas are stunning! The view from my room was top tier but as I previously stated the condition of the room gave motel vibes. I reached out to the hotel expressing my frustrations and concerns, provided photos and no one reached out with an apology or resolution. I do not recommend this location.

Wow wow wow! We stayed overnight in downtown Pittsburgh and chose the Renaissance because of the idea of having a river view. It was absolutely beautiful now that the sister bridges are completed. We found ourselves walking over to the windows multiple times to look at the views outside of the bridges and ballparks. Check in was very easy and the woman at the front desk was welcoming. The room was a king bed with a river view. The lobby is gorgeous as well when you walk in, there is a beautiful staircase.

Great location, VERY small accommodations! The hotel is beautiful and is in an amazing location located downtown Pittsburgh with view of the baseball stadium and lots of food options within walking distance. We parked across the street in the parking structure to avoid the steep $41 nightly valet cost. I am a diamond member so upon arrival I did not revive a room upgrade as expected but I did receive coupons for breakfast for both all 3 nights of my stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast unfortunately was very underwhelming. I would return to this hotel but I would need to get a bigger room because the room is definitely not worth the price.

In summary- the hotel needs a renovation but they have a done a lot to make it the best it can be before indulging in the big ticket items. I liked the location and would stay here again. . Pros I did get upgraded to a high floor with a view. Lobby is breathtaking! Great gym!!! Judy in the lounge (yes- they have an exec lounge!) Hot shower with great water pressure. Nice new decor Big screen TV Only 1 block from Starbucks Bar in hotel was lively View from room was nice. Dark hallways which I prefer. Staff friendly. Cons No full length mirror The TV was stuck on the bonvoy commercial. I had to call an engineer up to reboot Room was small and had an adjoining door, which I hate and requested not to have. Gym had some broken equipment: Recumbent bike made a weird clicking noise at first and then broke. One of the four ellipticals was broken After I checked in, I had trouble logging into the WiFi. They have a "work around" where you click "sign in with access code". I never saw that option. And I did not want to spend what little time I had going to the front speak for them to trouble shoot. I ultimately used my personal hotspot from my phone. Later it worked.

We have stayed at this hotel briefly for several nights and here is the review in detail details: Rooms: not very spacious, interesting colors with industrial feel decorations, not in a bad way, just a little difficult to feel completely relaxing due to the color theme. Room service was very good. Bathroom was spacious. Amenities are good. They have a good size gym. A good number of conference rooms on the second floor. Food and drinks: they only have one restaurant on site and with limited opening hours. Quality of food was good though. They have one bar on site. The bar opens for a much longer time than the restaurant, however, given its location there is no shortage of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Services: this is one of the areas I was the least pleased with at this hotel. From the day we check in to the hotel and through our stay, the staff that worked in the bar, the services were just not good. During our check-in, both my husband and I felt there was a little attitude during our check-in process, not sure if the attitude was towards to us or the lady was having a bad day. And for the three times I visit the bar. None of the bartenders offered me a food menu nor told me I was able to order food at the bar, nor even come to the table for any service while I was sitting at the table . The only reason I found out I can order food from restaurant at the bar was by walking to the restaurant and the wait staff in the front told me about it. My experience was basically if you are not placed yourself right by the bar there is no service for drinks or food. Which is definitely something this hotel management need to work on. The location of this hotel it's very convenient . Walkable to town center, restaurants, bars, bridges to across to the otherside of the water, to the stadium, museum, and many more. There are many activities nearby, including, but not limited to museums, sports and concert at the stadium , boat ride, community events in town center area, Theatre plays or movies, at many more. As a high-level Marriott elite member . I did not feel like I was appreciated by staying here . Since there are so many hotels in the vicinity, I definitely cannot say I will return to this hotel given my experience from this time.

Came here for the Christmas bar with a couple of friends. It was very cozy, welcoming and able to spend a few hours comfortably with holiday cocktails and finger foods. Staff were great, nice decorations, not over crowded and enjoyed the design of the hotel inside. Beautiful place.

Stayed at the Renaissance during the quarantine period as the hotel was getting back to normal. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, there are these double cascading staircases in the lobby that kind of remind you of a grand entrance of a Disney Princess movie. Staff is super nice too. We got placed into a handicap room and so the room was substantially bigger and the views were gorgeous - the bathroom had a giant window to see all three of the iconic yellow bridges. However, I do feel like the hotel is a bit old. The shower system was a little bit janky - you had to constantly adjust the temperature because the water temperature is dependent on who else also uses the shower. Also the room is really dark, they only have two lamps so at night it gets super dark. Overall, its a great hotel but the water temperature problem as well as the darkness of the room irked me a little bit.

Lovely hotel. The upgraded room was a bonus. The view was amazing. Wish we would have been able to stay longer.

I stayed here one night because I thought the trendy Bloomfield neighborhood would provide a nice change-of-pace from the more established downtown area. I was also planning to drive to upstate New York and thought this would be a convenient location for a faster getaway. Well, a sudden winter snowstorm forced me to cancel the side trip to New York, and I ended up spending very little time exploring Bloomfield because I took a long nap in my room after a sleepless night in the previous hotel. Even though it was bordering on pointless to shift to this hotel, I still enjoyed the studio I reserved for $152. There was a comfortable king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a corner sofa, and a 360-degree swivel flatscreen TV. It was a lot of amenities I didn't need, but hey, it was freezing cold, so the apartment set-up made it feel cozy. One other advantage was a sizable lot to park my rental SUV. Even though they offered a happy hour and continental breakfast, I skipped both. Instead I braved the cold and just strolled on Baum to find a decent greasy spoon for dinner and a quiet gay bar for a drink. Not a bad stay, and I'd consider a return to explore Bloomfield. The lobby area was really pretty and so much larger than it appears from outside. Free breakfast! The pool was nice and heated. We had it to ourselves both times we went in it during our stay. The hotel is located is a great area. Cons: It seems like the furniture was poor quality. Multiple times during the stay there was a panel that kept falling off the table in the kitchen area. The parking is pricey. I absolutely hate paying for parking. I wish this came with the hotel stay as it was also already priced on the higher end. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. I would probably pick a day that didn't fall on a holiday weekend for a less expensive stay.

Here's our experience. 1) Check-In: One unique aspect of this hotel is that the check-in is on the top floor with a beautiful view of Pittsburgh. Take the elevator to the 10th floor and two check in stands are right when the elevator doors open. The entire check-in experience took about five minutes. The woman helping us was efficient, personable, and even gave us a walking map of the area. She also gave us two drink vouchers to use on house beer, wine, or a mocktail at the hotel bar. 2) Rooms: Our larger room was on the 4th floor with two queen sized beds. The room corridor was wide, making it look much larger. There are plenty of outlets everywhere, lights, a TV, a Keurig machine, a fridge, and more. The bathroom was spacious with a toilet room with a closing door inside, a large shower, and Le Labo shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The beds are semi comfy and come with lots of pillows. 3) Amenities: There's no pool, but there is a gym with machines and weights. There's also a small rooftop terrace with a view of the Cathedral of Learning, work areas, and more. There's valet parking and a cheaper parking garage not connected to the hotel across the street. One interesting aspect of the hotel is that it's on the site of the Syrian Mosque, a large music venue. A recording studio, guitar, etc. inside the hotel are all nods to the music venue. 4) Service: The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a day of exploring, our room had a nice card with chocolate, macarons, and raspberries, and nice water for us. My wife forgot her toothbrush and the front desk gave her a free one from behind the desk! 5) Neighborhood: It's next to a number of museums and monuments and the Cathedral of Learning, which is worth a tour to see their Nationality Rooms.

I was immediately blown away with the foyer! At check in, there is fruit infused water to quench your thirst. Make sure you keep your room key in hand because you will need it to operate the elevator (once in, hold it against the black box until light turns green and quickly select your floor). The hallways were incredible! And still had their old charm! I even picked up the old fashioned telephone and it rings the front desk! You can use it shall you need something ... if for some reason you cannot enter your room, just pick up the black phone in the hallway and they will come to you (this didn't happen to me, but just a tip if it does). I stayed in room 1470 and absolutely love my view of the gothic architecture of the Union Trust. I looked out my window a million times! The size of my room was huge! I could have done cartwheels all over the place! The WiFi is complimentary for guests. There's cable TV. Maybe other options too but I didn't have my tv on much to know. The water pressure deserves its own special shout out! Holy moly it was heaven! And the brand of washes they had was nice! Usually the conditioner isn't good enough in hotels for my hair but this was just fine! And there's a good blow dryer on the back of the door (I still used my own because I have a lot of hair and it's long BUT had I forgotten it, their hair dryer would have been just fine at 1875 watts. There's a tag on your door that you can hang if you'd like to skip housekeeping for a day and the hotel will donate a meal for doing so .. check out the tag for more info! There's also cards you can put on your bed if you want your bedding changed. I was never bothered in my room by housekeeping. I was never bothered by noise. I never experienced a phony phantom call to my room. (All things I've experienced at other places). You will get a free drink at checkout you can get a beer at the tap room or a coffee at Mellon Square (on site). It is not good for the speakeasy ... and yes, it's a real speakeasy that existed in the 1920s you could access thru tunnels under the city! So cool! On checkout day, the event I attended was going to start early and finish after checkout time. Since I was up late the night before, the front desk said I was welcome to bring my bags down now for bellhop to hold, but they also put me for a late checkout at 1pm so I could come down late the next day too. So partway thru the event just before 1pm I brought down my bags and they held them for the next 90 mins I was there. I parked across the street at the Mellon square parking garage ... Apple GPS marks the garage in the wrong place FYI ... it marks it about a block away but it is directly across the street from the hotel, with the entrance to it being on the cross street. I paid $44 to park there from Thursday around 5pm to Sunday around 3pm. Not bad. They do have valet parking at the hotel too but that is $55 per day I believe. Leaving was sad. I would have liked more time to enjoy this place. I would love to come back sometime! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Wonderful staff and incredible hotel! Thank you for this amazing stay!
