Uber'd out to this modest brewery, in search of a tasty IPA (as current breweries seem to be focusing on non-clarified "hazy" styles, or sub-par IBUs (lower than 40 for IPAs!). Renaissance did not disappoint - good, solid (high IBU) IPAs, very tasty and satisfying. Friendly staff, and nice, quiet place to enjoy a session. The only way it could be better if it was closer to downtown, do a switch with a couple of the breweries that brew 'meh' beer (now with fruit/sour/elderberries!, whatever the trend 'o the month is). read more

I was in town for work, staying at an Airbnb in a residential neighborhood right off Lewis avenue, a main drag. In search of dinner and cold beer, I fell into what looked like a brand new brew pub but also looked like it may have been closed for the evening... Rachel the brewtender was so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. What I learned was that I arrived 15 minutes after the early crowd disappeared and that, even on a Friday night, the pub closes before 11:00 when the bars get busy. Renaissance has a great little thing going here -- the owner is a meisterbrewer trained in Germany! I can tell you from tasting four different beers, his craft is top-notch! I enjoyed a maibock and a light stout (just north of being a porter) which Rachel described as being a mix between an English and an Irish stout, I think. I might be wrong. To be sure, this is not a bar, as I was explained. They don't offer anything else but beer and of course not alcoholic drinks. For dinner, I had a brisket panini. I should note, that's all they offer is paninis. Nothing else. In one sense, that's totally cool because it allows them to be great at one thing and not less than average at a lot of things. However, my brisket panini tasted good but was sorely lacking on volume. Perhaps in Oklahoma they just don't give the volume of meat like they do in Texas or Chicago or Kansas City or elsewhere. With that being said, it tasted great and came with enough extras on the side to satisfy. The dining room and bar area are absolutely clean, welcoming, energetic... Even as I was the only customer there until a second gentleman showed up. It was nice to see Rachel engage with this gentleman who was a regular customer. It was clear that she treated everyone equally, with as much friendliness and helpfulness. There was definitely enough parking around the neighborhood. read more

Excellent brewery in Tulsa close to Mother Road Market off Lewis Avenue. The beers are unique and very high quality. Some of my favorites include the Gamma Ray IPA, Renaissance Gold Ale, and the Dragon's Breath. The tap room is small, but it has a large space in the back brew house for hosting events. This newest brewery is at 12th and Lewis (so it's a bit south of Marshall's and Cabin Boys). It's worth the trek if walking and definitely worth it if you have a designated driver along. Renaissance is named after the Tulsa neighborhood where it is located. The tap room is small but the facility can accommodate quite a few beer lovers. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, it was packed but we grabbed a couple of spots at the bar. There are round 8-10 small tables strategically placed in the tap room with more in the brew house. The tap-miesters were friendly, eager to talk and explain and were swamped but kept up well. We were there long enough to see a couple of waives come through. Again, I like to see that they have a non-alcoholic option on tap: the Renaissance Fizz (carbonated fruity water). Since I like fruity beers, my favorite on tap offering was Shark Week. They feature their distributed beers plus a long list of beers that are only available in the tap room. Hot Diggity Dogs food truck was on site and was very tempting. My husband and I parked over next to this brewery so that we could walk to the Mother Road Market and decided to have a drink before we headed to our destination. Neither of us had ever been there before. He tried two beers and I tried one. I am not a massive beer drinker so take this with a grain of salt. Mine was just okay. Nothing fantastic. He felt the same about both of his. but really my biggest complaint was that it smelled like wet dog in there. Two customers had their dogs at the bar and I love dogs!! But it smelled so strong and terrible that we wanted to get out of there ASAP. I assume this was a one off and I would like to try it again. read more

I cannot in good conscience give this place more stars than Marshalls. It's nice that Oklahoma has joined the 20th century craft brewing movement which means there is a plethora of new breweries opening in the surrounding area including this one. The exterior is really nice, once the road construction stops it should be easier to access, and there is on site and street parking. They have 9-10 beers on tap and it seems they tend to specialize in the German style of beers that I like. Dragon's Breath is a keeper, as is their stout. Their other offerings range from decent to not so great. If I have a bitch it is the taproom itself. For someplace new you would think that to distinguish themselves from the other breweries in the area, that they would have went all out in making the taproom a decent place to hangout, especially if you really want the neighborhood behind your place to patronize the location. Not the case here. A very small area, with a number of chairs and tables and that's about it. No TV, no WIFI, no outdoor area for when the weather is nice. Music is hit and miss, went on a Wed and it was way too loud for such a small place, went on a Sun and I could hear just fine. So for a place with a few decent beers and no amenities to speak of, this place has to sit behind 3 star Marshalls until there is an improvement. read more

It's small, and right now the construction is an absolute pain (thanks City of Tulsa!) but all of it is worth it for the amazing beer and experience at Renaissance! They have all their classic beers which range from dark to light, wheat to hoppy, and then always a selection of awesome small batch beers. I come here weekly and I feel like there is always something new to try, and the brewers are not only really open to experimenting with different flavors, they're also often in the taproom to talk to you about their brews and beer in general. My personal fave is the Cry Baby, because #sourbeers4life, but there is something for everyone here! Highly, highly recommend! read more

Fantastic beers, especially the Gamma Ray IPA, the best IPA in Tulsa! They also serve true pints vs the other breweries. Friendly and attentive staff. Dog -friendly. What needs improvement: ambiance...place is cold in its decor(or lack thereof) and seating is not so comfortable in the front of the establishment. We enjoy stopping by for a beer, but move on to other more warm and comfortable breweries with ambiance. I rate them a 5 on beer quality and staff, they rate a 3 on ambiance and comfortable seating. read more

Brand spanking new brewery in Tulsa that isn't too far from a few others. The space while a little small is beautiful and gets the job done. It has its own private parking lot as well as some street spots so parking shouldn't be an issue. Their flagships beer are solid but the star are their rotating specialties. The are full of flavor and make you want even more. read more

I was staying in town at a near by AirBnb this weekend that wasn't quite ready yet. A quick google search of breweries near the AirBnb and I found this wonderful little spot. I ponied up to the bar, took a seat and was greeted by wonderful regulars, great beers, and AWESOME service from Jacob! He found out I was from out of town and made sure I got the full experience of the brewery. Lots of little samples and lots of great conversation from Jacob. Not sure if or when I'll ever be back to Tulsa, but you can believe if that day comes... I'll definitely stop by Renaissance! read more
