I recently stayed here for a conference and was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. One downside (though this could be a plus for some) is that the hotel is situated rather far from downtown, and while I did not partake in their free shuttle service, it just seemed useless as the shuttle did not include downtown or airport pick ups/drop offs. The rooms were spacious enough and quiet. Even though on the Bonvoy login I had requested higher floor but I got a second floor which was fine, since this cut my "commute" time down to the first floor conference room by 5 min so I could literally roll out of bed 5 min before each session to get in on time. My husband had no difficulties logging on the internet for work as well. The on site amenities were really nice. The gym had all the free weights and machines one could ever ask for. There were both indoor and outdoor pools though neither my husband and I had used it. The UV index was lethal during mid March so we stayed indoors mainly and out of the sun. The conference rooms were clean and well maintained. The on site restaurants weren't bad either but service was leisurely slow. Sometimes we had to grab our own menus to get things started. There was a cafe in the morning staffed by two workers for quick bites but the long line made it impractical to get breakfast in a hurry. There was also a corner "store" next to hotel check in desk but nothing looked particularly appetizing. The hotel staff were helpful and responsive. I was given a card of on site daily hotel credits but the fine prints listed were confusing as they included museum tickets (but once I clarified w the staff they told me that the museum tix were merely suggestions of points of interest and not included - so poorly worded). While the housekeeping staff was friendly I had run out of body soap and shampoo (I find that these wall affixed amenities often don't get checked regularly during routine housekeeping clean ups) so I had to request a couple of times to get refills. While the hotel is situated in the suburbs, there are shopping malls next to it. During my stay I frequented places like CAVA for delicious bowls and salads as well as Cafe du Bliss for their amazing banana lattes and flavored croffles. Overall a pleasant and quiet stay, but out of the way from points of interest in Austin. read more

Hidden GEM!! As a local to the area, we have never really paid much attention to the hotel located right in our backyard! Great location, beautiful decor, incredible service from the moment we walked in and overall excellent experience! Janis checked us in and found out we recently eloped and later sent us a bottle of prosecco to celebrate us! Our service at the Knotty Deck ( we stopped in for a little snack as we waited for checkin) was so nice by Kathleen and the manager Azaz stopped by to chat with us on a beautiful day! I haven't stayed here but I've been for several conference and have been doing daily resort passes to indulge in the outdoor pool and spa. The outdoor pool gets a lot of sun but it's a little small. I don't mind that because the times I go, it's never packed. I order food from the Knotty Deck and always get the quinoa salad and add grilled chicken. It has fresh tomato, watermelon, cucumber, celery all topped with a delicious mint dressing. It hits the spot. The hotel also has an indoor pool and spa. The staff is very friendly and location in north Austin is convenient to many places within 10-20 mins. One of these days I'll do a staycation here. read more

I enjoyed my stay here at Renaissance Hotel. I really enjoy visiting Texas hotels that are nestled in between greenery (compared to a city/downtown view) so this place was totally our vibe. The hotel is also dog friendly too! Which was great so we could keep our pup with us. Half the hotel rooms face the inside lobby and has a balcony which is cool, expect the sliding door is locked so can't really step out onto the balcony. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and coffee shop on site too which was nice. We enjoyed breakfast out on the patio one morning which was a relaxing experience. Hotel room was decent. Full Disclosure: We were comped a king suite by the hotel due to celebrating our anniversary. I wanted to be upfront. We had never stayed here and one thing my wife an I do now and then is just take staycation, stay at a hotel we know we enjoy or one we have never been too. Shana has been wanting to stay here so we did so in Nov. The place is very nice, near many shops and restaurants as well as having it's own restaurants and bars. They had all sorts of Christmas decor all over the place. There were elevators everywhere including two with the full length windows you can look out over the bigger lobby area. Almost all of the staff was fantastic, James, who was the manager I was originally dealing with on the comped room was responsive and went above and beyond. The woman who checked us in, a little after 3 pm on Monday 11/24 whose name I can't remember was so nice and the bartenders and waitstaff we had were fast and outgoing. The two woman at the front desk in the evenings of the 24th and 25th were the only exception. They acted like you bothered them if you approached and were not at all friendly when they answered your questions. The room was nice, large, a sitting/living area with its own TV and a couch as well as some small but nice wooden tables. No Microwave but a very cold fridge/freezer, a coffee machine, a safe under the TV in bedroom. A good size shower that gets very hot, but only the one shower head and not options on it. The Bed was comfy, the TV didn't always work and some channels never came through and it would randomly reset at times. SHANA SAYS: Hotel was cozy, classy, and comfy with Excellent service and we had a luxurious suite. It was easily the best hotel gym I have used from America to Japan. It had a Peloton room so I tried my first peloton and loved it, the Christmas decorations were so beautiful. Both restaurants has amazing food, I did find out as we checked out we had a destination fee where we were supposed to get a card at check in with discounts/coupons/and free tickets to several places around the hotel and Austin that we didn't get. There were some cool things on there, it was disappointing to find out as we were leaving. They took the fee off but still, a bummer. Overall we had a good relaxing time which is what we wanted, with good food and just a mental and physical break. The good outweighed the bad and I am glad we stayed. read more

I met Finance colleagues at the Knotty Deck & Bar at the Renaissance Hotel located in the Arboretum. The Knotty Deck & Bar is a convergence of deep Texas roots and an element of global flair. Walking into the hotel you encounter all things Texas or Austin or both - guitars (Austin is the music capitol of the world), steer and other country artifacts. The deck appears to be a cutout of a European city with wide open space, draped plants overlooking the greenbelt. It is both scenic and aesthetically pleasing. The outdoor deck is a large enough to hold a group of 100 easily with breathtaking Hill-Country views. It would be idea for groups, brunch with friends or a romantic dinner. Overall, the decks exude relaxed, chill and laidback vibe. We have a curated menu with re-imagined comfort food: * Knotty Brisket Nachos - smoky and layered with avocado * Award-Winning Mac-N-Cheese - creamy and cheesy * Knotty Wings - buffalo style wings ideal for sharing * Brisket Sliders - Made with house-smoked brisket, cheddar cheese, and jalapeño aioli on toasted buns. * BBQ Chicken Flatbread - Smoked chicken, red onion, cheddar, cilantro, and tangy BBQ sauce. * Avocado Toast - Texas toast topped with creamy avocado spread and spice. This hotel is newly renovated in a nice shopping area. My favorite thing about this hotel was all the oversized Christmas decorations, they really did a great job decorating getting the festive feel of Christmas. Close to some good shopping, soccer and downtown although plan around rush hour if your heading downtown. Loved the total vibe of the place really does "get" Texas and Texans. There is paid for parking in the open lot on proptery QR code or text, $23 plus tax or valet. If there is an event going on in one of their ball rooms parking will fill up. Upon arriving the check in counter did not make us feel welcome, did not offer welcome gift for members. When we got to our room, the bed looked like it had been laid in and when I called the front desk to make sure the room wasn't double booked, all they said was oh well maybe housekeeping didn't make the beds right. There was no other solution offered. We ate at the Knotty Deck & Bar and were pleasantly surprised with the food, we had a steak and cheese board, both were really good. Our sever was very courteous and I really liked her even though she brought me the wrong drink when ordered and still made me pay. There was also a little table side entertainment with a magician, it was fun. I would return to this hotel. There is a pool, corn hole and fire pit to enjoy but we did not due to it being too cold. read more

Was here for three days for a conference. I didn't stay at the hotel, but was here for three days attending workshops, eating meals and enjoying parties. The hotel staff hit all of the marks for our outdoor party the first night of the conference. And I will tell you what, they somehow had an impact on the weather because the thunderstorm we were expecting never arrived. The weather was perfect for our outdoor party on the back patio and grassy area. Everyone was friendly and helpful all the time. The facility was clean. Our meal service was done quickly and professionally. Very impressive since we were such a large group. Well done to the hotel staff. read more

Everything is bigger in Texas, except the Renaissance Austin bathrooms. Staying in standard king room on 9th floor for conference. $260 a night. No drawers to unpack into. No hand towel rack to dry hands on. Bathroom so small the shower is hidden behind the open bathroom door. Can't stand in shower without a shoulder hitting the wall. Only on towel hook on back of door not adequate for 2 people and the towels feel like 60 grit sandpaper. Also the hotel is in north Austin in the middle of highways and strip malls and far from the life of downtown Austin. Hotel is basic and not what I would expect as a high end conference hotel or a destination hotel. Will recommend our industry not use this venue again. #update the shampoo gave me an allergic reaction. read more

I have stayed at this Renaissance Hotel a number of times for business trips. The staff is always welcoming. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bed is very comfortable. The way the hotel is designed (with the square design and all the room doors open to an inner "courtyard") gives it an Embassy Suites vibe. As a result if there is noise down there, it will filter up to your room. It has a great gym and pools. It also has a dedicated Peloton room which I have never seen in any other hotel. It also has some very nice outdoor areas. There is lots of outdoor parking (which you will get charged for). There is nothing within walking distance so you will need a car if you want to get to anything. Overall it's a nice hotel. read more

We have stayed at the Renaissance Austin multiple times and have always had a great stay. The hotel is clean and well maintained with friendly staff. We were able to enjoy a nice breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. The pancakes were fantastic and the omelette was also very good. There is a fee (25 dollars) for parking, but given the hotels, reasonable rates and point redemptions it feels fair. Although this is not the most luxury hotel in Austin, it provides a great stay at a very good value and is not too far from downtown. read more

Our waitress Jaden was like the sweetest... Atmosphere- beautiful, like stunning, I loved the little selfie areas set up, so pretty. They have a great gym, two pools, outdoor for pots and great eating and coffee areas. Perfect for events or just a little staycation. Plenty of shopping and little shops walking distance. This hotel is highly overrated! The front desk is very slow and even some of their staff don't know their way around the system! There's not much of a room cleaning happening; I stayed here for 4 nights and they only cleaned my room once! At some point, I had a pile of towels on my bathroom floor and I was out of towels; when I asked for more towels, they only delivered them to my room and left them on the bathroom counter and hadn't even picked up the ones on the floor. After the first night, they were out of body lotions and no matter how many times I asked, they only promised to deliver them to my room and it never happened! Also, the shower was missing a door screen, so the bathroom floor was all wet and I had to use all the towels to clean it up! I believe this hotel lack proper planning and management and apparently they don't train their employees properly! read more

Spent a lovely weekend in Austin. Amazing weather and to be in nature again is so relaxing. We love The Renaissance in the spacious corner suite. Clean and very quiet. The one negative is the charge for our senior dog that is all of 9 lbs. They charged $150 for him which was pricey for two nights. Our hotel in Vail village was far less per night. Overall, we enjoy staying here for the convenient location, walking distance to restaurants and lots of shopping. read more

This review is for their conference facilities. I was initially apprehensive er disappointed that our conference was being held here and not downtown. Spoiler alert the Renaissance provided us with a strong 4-star experience. There is a very large hall for keynote sessions and many smaller rooms for breakout sessions. There is also a good-sized exhibition hall for vendors. This is an excellent venue for mid-sized events. We were well fed and watered during the event with diet options for all. There is also a coffee shop, restaurant, and a bar for after-hour meetings. There is ample parking and being in the Arboretum there are plenty of off-site dining options for the out of towners. read more

Drove almost 5 hours to get here just to find out that reservation was lost in the system (that is what Front desk said) which I doubt it since I already checked in thru the app in the morning. Book a 2 Queens room, high floor, I ended up in the low floor with King bed. I was stuck in the front desk for nearly 40 minutes because they tried to find a room based on my reservation which I believe they already gave it out to other customers. No upgrade, NOTHING! So basically I do not get the room of what I paid for instead they down grade my room reservation. I will definitely not recommend this hotel! It's definitely not worth it. read more

What an incredible stay at this Renaissance for our first trip to Austin! We chose this hotel after speaking with Beyza over the phone weeks before our arrival as she was exceptionally professional, warm, and kind. Her outstanding service truly set the tone for our visit. We absolutely fell in love with the hotel! The lobby was beautiful and we couldn't resist taking lots of photos around the hotel. Our room was spotless, the bed was super comfortable, and I especially loved the signature scent throughout the hotel. I also appreciated the recognition of my elite status especially with access to the R-Club. The location is perfect with so many great restaurants nearby and easy access to the Domain. This would almost be a five star review, but recently, they started charging for overnight self parking in the huge parking lot that has plenty of space. It's not like this is downtown with limited parking, Big thumbs down for that. As for the rest, we've stayed her several times now for my wife's work, and overall, it's quite nice. The beds are clean and a bit firm (almost too firm, but we like them soft, so...). The rooms have a mini fridge and a non-Keurig coffee maker, as well as a safe for belongings. The bathrooms are fairly good size, and feature a tub/shower combo with good water pressure and temperature. One minus is that the bathroom lighting is super bright, so if you have to go in the middle of the night, best to just stumble in darkness. Moving into the common spaces, the lobby is just... monstrous. It's beautiful, with plenty of natural light, and lots of places to sit, visit, work, snack, do whatever. Typically, when we visit, my wife will be at a work site, and I'll stay either in the room or this expansive lobby and work with my laptop. Last time, I even took an external monitor and setup in the lobby. There's a coffee shop that's only open in the morning, and the Knotty Bar and restaurant are an expensive but fairly good dining option. The pool area is nice, with both an outdoor pool, and an indoor heated pool. There's a large in-ground hot tub outside that's gotten a lot of use from us. As for nearby amenities, we've gotten takeout from the CAVA Digital Kitchen that's literally steps away, and there are are two luxury options that are easily walkble, Bulevar and Eddie V's, both recommended. Overall, as others have noted, she's got a little age on her, but it's still a very nice if not super affordable place to stay. The staff have always been great to us, and we'll keep coming back. read more

Exhausting half night stay at our luxury corner suite booking. Our room hovered right above the wedding venue that was going on that night, even though we were 7 floors up, the vibrations and volume of the music from the celebration below were too noisy, it lasted past midnight. I feel bad for anyone that was a floor closer to it. They were unable to provide us with a similar room and offered to downgrade us on the opposite side of the hotel, they did not give us any good alternatives or options for the major inconvenience so we decided to check out early and process a refund. There was only one staff member that stood out as friendly and over the top when it came to service, everyone else including the manager was far below any positive rating especially for a 4-star rated hotel. The hotel may look pretty but it's completely overlooked by the service. They also charge $20 overnight parking when there's a hundred empty spaces at the end of each night. I do not recommend this hotel, if you do choose to stay here I'd call in advance to see if your hotel comes with a nightclub package because you should be prepared for a night of partying and zero peace and quiet. read more

The Renaissance Austin has a great ambiance. The decor is very "HEY YOURE IN TEXAS" and its fun. The lobby, restaurant, staff, service, all were great, no issues. My issues were two fold. Shower was extremely narrow and needed some tile cleaning, badly. Ideally I don't feel like I need to wear shoes when I shower in my hotel room, but there I was, feeling like that. Fitness center setup was a bit awkward. They have giant fans by the treadmills, which I get offsets the humidity, but they oscillate and are RIGHT next to the treadmills so when you're running you feel like you're in the middle of a category 4 hurricane. There is one on each side of the treadmills too. I gave the feedback to the front desk and hope they rethink that a bit. The treadmills have fans built in, no need to feel like I'm an extra in a "Twister" sequel while trying to workout at 6am. If I came again I'd book here, but I would bring flip flops for the shower in case. read more

Upgraded to a luxury suite, so we had lots of space - table, desk, separate living, fridge and wet bar. The rooms and common spaces are showing signs of age, but are well kept, overall it's still a nice choice. Free lot parking, no valet service. The down side is that, with the hotel so full, we always had to park a good distance away. Were very glad we didn't have an atrium facing room. There was a large convention at the hotel, and the lobby/atrium noise was quite loud during our stay. Room could be kept reasonably dark and cold. No way to connect Chromecast, TVs are hard mounted against the wall. TVs did at least have Netflix and Youtube. read more

We stayed at this hotel overnight while attending ACL. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the front desk receptionist who checked me in. The lobby is beautiful! The atrium is large and at the time was hosting an event. The rooms face the atrium so from all angles you do have a great view. Our room was a king size room with a balcony facing the atrium. The room was spacious with lots of space for luggage. There was also a sitting area and a desk. The room does need some updates done but overall was still in great shape! I would definitely book this location again as it's more north of town but still close to downtown. read more

First time staying in the arboretum area it's north of Austin! I didn't pick hotel or location but very impressed as my son booked this location and it was perfect. The drive into downtown Austin straight highway and took less than 20 mins. This location is great to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The hotel is adjacent to a high end mall and has plenty of other stores and food choices locally. The hotel has a cool vibe with a open atrium and the view is beautiful especially now with all the Christmas decorations inside the atrium. The staff was pleasant and housekeeping on a as needed basis by simply notifying staff. The swimming pool is small and was closed. There are ample spaces to socialize outside or indoors. I was on the fourth floor and had a pretty nice view of tree line and highway. Overall a good stay no complaints. read more

My room I had overlooked the main space of the hotel which was big and beautiful. The hotel decor was very Texan and modern. I loved the feel of the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. Beautiful hotel, tons of parking, and decent enough location. But I think I would've been more impressed if I hadn't spent four days prior to my stay at the JW Marriott downtown. I stayed for a week here as part of a work conference (pre-pandemic). The lobby is grand and sprawling, with comfortable seating areas and little decorated nooks and crannies. The bar and dining area is pretty big, too, with a two-story outdoor eating and relaxing space. The bar was well-stocked, though the food wasn't as impressive as what we received for breakfast and lunch as part of the conference. Our primary conference space was located one level down from the main lobby, in what looked like a repurposed parking garage -- there were big, oddly placed pillars between vendor booths -- but most of the actual meetings and breakout sessions were held on the ground level, where temperature control was a little more dependable. The rooms, chairs, lighting, and audio/visual supplies were all adequate, the restrooms were all clean, and the space was perfect for what we needed. The food they served was good, too! Decent options for all the different eating preferences you'll find in a large, diverse crowd. They provided self-serve coffee, tea, and soda stations and the happy hour drink selection was appreciated, too -- some well-known domestic options as well as selections from local breweries. The staff was always pleasant and helpful -- from those who were serving and working with conference attendees and vendors, to the front desk staff, vallet attendants, and bartenders. I'd gladly attend another conference here as either a guest or host. read more

Overpriced and they charge for parking. Do not expect to have your room made up when you want. They have a schedule which apparently is unbreakable. May be a good place for meetings but not for visiting relatives or attending affairs elsewhere. read more
