I took my time as there were many vitamins, herbal loose leave and encapsulated teas along with juices, powders, tinctures and general good for you grocery products too. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products and I really enjoyed my time there. It is the middle of the lunch hour and the shop is fairly busy which is always good to see as you know their products are fresher than most stores of this type. I noticed you can fill your water cooler jugs there as well. Glad I stopped in and I know I will be back when I need some products I can't find anywhere else in Winston Salem.

I have gone to Lizzie's Herb Shop off and on since the late 1980's. One of the reasons I go to her is because of Lizzie's sincere concern for me, her experience, vast knowledge of herbs and the drugs that may interact with them, and willingness to help me find the best product for my needs. It's also why I've referred many of my friends and massage clients to her over the years. I wouldn't risk my personal or professional reputation if she weren't all that she should be. I've never witnessed rude behavior. She and her staff have always greeted me and others as they came through the door and explained why if they couldn't help me immediately. She has asked me what medications I was taking and I've overheard her do the same to other customers. She has reference materials on a bookshelf on the left side of the wall behind the cash register that she has utilized to be sure the herbs I take interact properly with any prescriptions I'm currently on. Some items may seem high, but Lizzie has always done her research on the herbs she sells and only buys the purest products from companies she has thoroughly checked out. They aren't always the cheapest, but she feels secure in the fact she is selling the best quality for each item. I can frequently tell a difference in how they work, so I'm willing to pay extra when I have to. Also, when she changed the formula of Vitamin B6 she sells and it didn't work as well for me as the old from the same provider, she special ordered the old for me just because it worked better for me. Because of her knowledge, when you go to her shop, you may have to wait to talk to her. However, when it is your turn, she really does give you her full attention. She's even looked at my lab work before and told me certain herbs obviously weren't doing me any good. She once told me without lab work she couldn't tell me what herbs might help me because we weren't seeing good results working with just my symptoms. On more than one occasion she has sat down with me and went though all my prescriptions and herbs to see if I was taking things I didn't need and what I might be able to eliminate because I felt like I was taking too many pills, but didn't know what to get rid of. She helped me eliminate stuff. Therefore, I've never felt she was just in it for the money, wasn't thorough in her analysis of my needs or how things worked together. It is true she brings her dog to work but I've never noticed her dogs over the years being inappropriate in any way or that Lizzie's place was unclean. I personally like her dog being there. Baptist and many other "medical" facilities bring dogs into their environment to help heal people both physically and emotionally, and I've always gotten a positive lift form Lizzie's dog being there. Sorry Sammy S. had a bad experience, but I never have and still believe Lizzie's Herb Shop is the best in the Piedmont Triad!!! I've visited several. I don't have any problem with any of them, but still prefer Lizzie's for most things.
