My, then, fiance was concerned about finding the perfect DJ (I should say he is an Aussie Irish mix, we live in Ireland, have very eclectic music tastes and planned this from abroad!) for our wedding what with our different backgrounds, nationalities and wedding theme. Rick is a gentleman. He met some of the wedding party for drinks, music was discussed, a cd of obscure Australian Punk Rock exchanged... Rick created the perfect musical night. A full night of Big Band music, Bruce Springsteen, The Weavers, Punk, Traditional Irish, even reggae. He judged the crowd, the various countries represented, ages etc. At one point he managed to get the Irish delegation up on the dance floor doing a very fair imitation of river dance. Mimi's attention to detail was incredible--she took the time to really understand our vision and made it come to life. She beautifully brought together our favorite colors--green, blue, and silver--in a way that was elegant and unforgettable. Her communication was always prompt, and she was very responsive to all our questions and concerns. Mimi made sure she checked in weekly, not only to talk about wedding stuff but to check on my mental..lol. She put me at ease during this stressful time. We were especially impressed with her ability to handle the logistics of the days leading up to our wedding. When we ran into trouble with our first caterer, Mimi quickly moved on to the next one on our list. Although the second also didn't work out, We eventually found a third option--and the day still came together. Most of the event ran smoothly, from the ceremony to the reception. Mimi and Chris even anticipated and addressed small hiccups we hadn't thought of, which helped create a mostly seamless experience. However, there were a few areas where things could've been handled better. For example, We missed out on doing a toast, first dance, and the father-daughter dance. These moments mattered to us, and while things happen, with a little more proactive direction, I think it would have jumped back on track. We also had a last-minute issue when our photo booth company, Photo Bomb LLC, canceled just hours before the wedding, no fault to Kreative Designs. Mimi jumped on the issue quickly and brought in 360&Moore Photo Booth before the Reception started. She was professional and had a great personality, I would definitely recommend her business. Overall, The Horton's would totally recommend Kreative Designs to couples looking for an experienced and positive wedding planner. Mimi and Chris has a great attitude and made the planning process enjoyable. We received so many compliments about how beautiful the decor/ colors was, and how she had the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids come out (yes "the centipede" ). Kreative Designs know their stuff!!!

Bill, the DJ, made me a little nervous to begin with because he didn't respond to an email I sent…read moreto him. I think he probably does quite a few weddings, so he just keeps a running playlist for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We had some special requests that he was able to incorporate (although, he didn't include all of our requests but got the important ones!) and customized our introductions and special dances just fine. He also kind of helped take over coordination duties for the reception, by keeping us on track for cake cutting, lining us up for introductions, and giving the last call. He kept the dance floor packed and, honestly, we really never noticed him! I guess that's what you want in a wedding DJ!! Bill traveled to Raleigh to be at our wedding.
