Well, I tried to get a drink and a menu but after ten minutes of not even a hello at the center of the bar I left. Nice.

What a place. You normally don't find a great restaurant attached to the Hilton Garden Inn. Tried…read moreit because the smell outside was amazing. Sat on patio because the inside was packed for a Monday night. Tried several tapas for dinner, favorite was the bread service and Brussels sprouts. Also had the wings but the seasoning was a little overpowering. Came back a second night! Loved the steak sandwich. Ribeye had a great flavor. Recommend the relish on the side if you're not into heat. Service was great tonight. I do want to mention the beer selection on draft is great since most are local.

There is as a large sports bar with games playing but, that is not why we came here. We made reservations and still had to wait. When we were seated, it was at a high-top in the bar area with a very wobbly table. We asked to move to a regular table which was done "after they cleaned one off. So..... I would expect some bread and butter at the table. When we asked they said they didn't "do that" they did make us some burnt pieces of toast with olive oil. It was gross. What I will say, and what saves this review at 4 stars are the chefs working on an old school wood burning adjustable rack system with an open to see galley and cooking the steaks to absolute perfection.

They replaced the meal but I was still very put off by this. I have not eaten at Era ever since. I thought about giving them another chance so we celebrated our anniversary with brunch. We arrived around noon and it was still pretty busy. It seems like they are always busy and there is no real "slow" period. We had to wait for a table but was only a 5 minute wait for the two of us. The waitress was very polite and upbeat which made the experience more enjoyable. I ordered the Nashville chicken & waffle and the girlfriend ordered the country fried steak. We also order the mimosa flight; the pineapple was our favorite. The order came decently fast for how busy it was. The food was amazing. The potatoes with the country fried steak were incredible. It was a good sized steak with a good amount of gravy; the perfect ratio of meat to gravy. The chicken and waffles were very good. I liked that the hot sauce came on the side. The waffle itself had very good flavor. The breaded chicken was cut into strips and there was a lot of chicken provided. The combo of the sweet waffle with the spicy chicken really hit the spot. I would say that Era changed my mind from my first experience. We had an enjoyable and delicious meal - we will be back.

There were about 3 tables inside and a birthday party outside(it was almost over) when we walked in. Stood there for a few minutes and then the bartender (guessing he may have been the manager) said we could sit anywhere. We picked a table and waited and waited-everyone was going around lost, looked at us and no one stopped to help us. We were just about to walk out. Finally the same bartender asked if we had been helped yet and we said no so he asked what we wanted to drink, we ordered pops and he said it was on him and he was sorry about that. He came out from behind the bar and went to the host stand and got us menus and silverware-at this time the host finally came back to her station and said she didn't see us walk in-well no she didn't, she wasn't there. Then there was a conversation between bartender and host about who was gonna be our waitress. Sat there for awhile looking at the menus and no waitress, finally just about fed up and she showed up. She asked if we wanted any apps, we said no and said we were ready to order. I ordered 10 wings and asked about two sauces, which she was unsure of the difference, she said she was fairly new and just learned them all, but did answer my questions. I ordered spicy garlic and spicy Thai sauces on the side. After I ordered she asked what my pop was, I said it didn't make a difference as the bartender said he covered the cost. She said just so she knows for refills and such. Husband ordered 10 traditional wings with the maple bacon bbq sauce. Also ordered a Philly cheesesteak w/fries for us to try. We both got carrots, celery and blue cheese. Our food was delivered in a timely manner. For my wings-she brought boneless, which I realized I didn't specify so not her fault, but my husband's was also boneless and he had ordered traditional. I asked her about it and she said oh, I didn't hear him, I just put boneless in because most people that dine in order them because of the deal. I stated well we didn't know there was a deal as no one told us. She just said oh well most people know the deal before they come in and I said we didn't. And she just looked at me. So I asked well what is the deal and she's like well boneless wings are $0.80 each. I said ok. We sent his back as I knew he ordered traditional. When she checked on us while waiting for his to be fixed, I asked about my sauces. It did not taste like a spicy garlic. She said it is, I said well it tastes like buffalo-which it did, No garlic flavor at all. She just said that's weird and walked away. Finally my husband's new Wings came out and they were really good, best part of the meal, he did get all flats, which I love but he prefers a mix (not sure if they always do flats or not). Most laughable part of the meal is , we get the bill and lo and behold the 2 pops were on there. (They charge for the veggies, blue cheese and and extra sauces as well.) She came to take our bill and I said those two pops should not be on there, the bartender said he was gonna cover those, she said I didn't know, he didn't say anything to me. (I bit my tongue, I was gonna say--but I told you at the beginning). So she said she would go take them off, took her a bit, but did get it resolved. We saw her more when it was time to pay then the whole rest of the meal! Also, the men's bathroom stall door wouldn't stay closed and toilet didn't flush. There was also a lot of confusion when a few other tables came in and then they were talking about better let the kitchen know there's a table of 6, like it was group of 16... Overall we won't go back, which is too bad as the chicken wings were good, even the boneless ones were tender.

Service was good although our poor server had an awful lot of tables. After overpaying for subpar food, the icing on the cake was a 3% restaurant fee. I understand the concept but when observing how understaffed they were, I seriously question whether the fee is being applied to staff as intended. Next time, we'll hit Culvers - better food, better staff culture, no hidden fees.

They seem a bit under-staffed, as I saw only two line cooks and two waitresses despite a slew of customers. Despite the lack of coverage, the waitress took our order quickly. We expected a wait, and it was not terrible - when I first noticed we were waiting, the food arrived almost immediately after. The hash browns were spot on. Mine came with a crunchy brown sear, and while I lime less white, fluffy hash browns, I did not ask them to cook them special, so I have to live with my choice. The toast was also a nicely toasted rye bread with some visible caraway seeds. It tasted like a good rye bread should taste. This is the point where the review goes south. We knew we'd have to wait given the crowd, but if I have to wait, I expect hot food when it arrives. The eggs, while perfectly cooked over easy, were lukewarm - along with the bacon, sausage, and ham. I'm well-aware that a place like this pre-cooks the meat, so they can meet a rush. My issue is that a warmer keeps the meat Luke-warm. Pretty much everyone with access to cable TV and the food Network knows that if you pre-cook the meat, you get it on the flat top prior to dropping the eggs to ensure that you serve up hot, tasty meat. That did not happen hear. The bacon had good flavor, but since it did not revisit the flat top, it came back flaccid, not crispy. The sausage tasted like the teacher in Charlie Brown specials talks - mwah, mwah, mwah. Getting it back on the flat top would have allowed better browning and the introduction of actual flavor. The ham tasted...disgusting. I like a good ham steak with a meat lovers type breakfast, but this did not even taste like ham. I think I was eight the last time I had to actually spit something in my napkin because it tasted so gross. The rye toast and the two buttermilk pancakes that come with the Lumberjack Slam allow this score to sit at two stars instead of one. Use of the flat top might have elevated this to three stars, but alas, ''twas not meant to be." I can't recommend that you stop here. Honestly, if you want a good breakfast, head north to The Log Cabin on Schofield Ave. It is not as convenient as a Denny's next to the hotel, but your taste buds will appreciate the trip.
