I had Chalise, I give 2 stars specifically for the way she handled my hair. She did an okay job cutting my hair, wouldn't say it's amazing. She did a very poor job handling my hair, pulling very hard, being very rough, & even when brushing my wet hair (that had tangles at the bottom) she would brush from top to bottom instead of brushing the bottom going up (which is what I thought everyone knows??). She didn't put any heat protector in my hair or any sort of product to protect my hair. Just went straight to using heat on it and she had heat on my hair for a LONG time. It was kinda burning my face and even when I was push away to show that it was hurting she would stay in the same area for way to long. I left with my hair feeling kinda brittle and not good. I've never been to a salon that doesn't put anything in your hair after a wash to protect it or keep it moisturized. There was also poor customer service, didn't smile, didn't really talk... never had a hairstylist like this before. I'm sure she's fine and im hoping today was just an off day for her but my experience today was not good. read more

I had never gotten color in my hair before and was kind of nervous to do so but Amanda was amazing and made me feel so comfortable in this salon! She took her time making sure my haircut was perfect, asked me how I was doing, offered me water and we made great conversation! If you're looking for an amazing cut and color, schedule an appointment with Lisa Frehner ASAP! A little background, I went to hair school 10 years ago and convinced myself that I could get great results doing my own hair.... and for 7 years I suffered with mediocre hair that I was never really happy with. I'd either put it in a ponytail or a bun every day to try to hide the bad dye jobs and haircuts. I also have a mother-in-law and sister-in-law that did my hair occasionally but my hair was always fried afterward because they didn't have additional experience or training doing ombre and balayage techniques. Even though they gave me a family discount, it wasn't worth it. After meeting Lisa and having a few friends refer her, I decided to take a leap of faith. By the time I went to her, the top half of my hair was almost black and the bottom half was fried from bad ombre attempts. My hair was down to my butt and I was ready to chop it off. Thankfully Lisa saved it and gave it a whole new life. A good cut and color and I feel like a totally new woman. I used to never wear my hair down and now I wear it down 4-5 days a week. I get so many compliments on it from friends and strangers. I've since moved to Vegas but I'm still coming up with excuses to go to Utah every 6 weeks so I can get my hair done by Lisa. Pros: - Lisa is very experienced with a variety of hair types and I love that she knows exactly what type of cut and products will work best with my wavy/frizzy hair - Lisa is great at very classic, natural colors as well as fun and trendy hair colors - The salon is very clean and everyone is super friendly, especially the owner, Mike. - Lisa's rates are great for the quality of work she does. The only other cut I've loved this much cost twice as much at a high-end salon in SLC, and Lisa does a better job! Cons: - Get on her calendar early and always, ALWAYS schedule your next appointment before you leave the salon. She saves a few spots for last minute appointments but if it's a weekend I have to make sure to schedule early. - The products she sells are awesome but I can't get them at Walmart, so if I run out between appointments I have to wait until I get back to Utah... but that's only a con if you live out of state. read more

I'm visiting from out-of-state and asked my sister if she knew anyone that could do a good pixie cut. I was referred to Lisa, and couldn't be happier with the results. Lisa is friendly, professional and talented. She started off washing my hair and gave an amazing head massage. I've been fighting a sinus infection and accompanying headaches. Lisa hit all the pressure points; it felt so nice that that alone was worth the visit. It's hard to find a stylist that can do a good pixie. Lisa listened to what I wanted, gave some suggestions. She took into account what how my hair would look styled and un-styled. She did a good job of reading my hair and how it would fall naturally. The salon is clean, well-lit and comfortable. The wash, cut and style was $45. All-in-all it was a good experience, and I wish I could find a place like this at home! read more

The rating for this place doesn't lie! I needed to get my hair cut and I went here for the first time, my appointment was with Madison and I'm very happy with my cut and dye job, she cut it exactly how I wanted it and was friendly the entire time and while yes it is a bit more expensive all can say is I am very pleased with my finished haircut and that paying a little extra was well worth it! I will definitely be going back here for my next hair appointment! read more

Jax, has done a great job on my hair. It has been a long time I am trying to find someone that I can truest my hair for real. I have tried many different professionals and had not been happy yet. Finally I found Jax, she did it! I wanted to have my hair very short and all professionals I went, they said it wouldn't look good on me, and she did it, and she did it with confidence, and it looks great on me, I feel younger, sexy and beautiful. Showed photos of what I wanted. Stylist asked if I wanted a bob. I said no. I had that before and hated it. I wanted a chunky messy style with lots of layers and texture. Showed her several photos of what I wanted. She did a straight bob - exactly like the photo she showed me and I said I did not want. I said I hated getting hair in my face and had to ask her several times to not have it too long on the sides because it always falls in my face. She still styled it with hair straight down into my face. I asked for it to be cut to flip up and out. She cut it down and under and used a round brush to pull it down and under. She had quite a few calls and walk ins that interrupted her. It was as if she only knew the one style, or was too distracted to listen, or just completely ignored all I asked for. And even when I tried several times to remind her of what I wanted, she seemed to just ignore what I was saying. Have to go someplace else to get it fixed and get what I asked for now. Makes me mad to pay $55-66 for a haircut that is nothing like I asked for and actually exactly what I said I did not want. And she didn't even turn me around so I could see the back of my hair. I don't know if she was rushed or what but I can't recommend her or the place. Music was loud and rap style in the back, not a pleasant or relaxing experience at all. Would never go back. When you pay that much for a cut, you expect a much better cut and experience. read more

Jax did an absolutely amazing job fixing my hair before my wedding. I had gone to another salon and they had completely ruined my hair. The weekend before my wedding Jax went out of her way to help me out. Every step of the way she made sure that I was happy with how everything was looking and took all of my feedback. By far one of the best salons I've ever been too! Great atmosphere and Lisa was amazing. She makes you feel really comfortable and when she washes your hair it is a legit head massage. This was my first time getting highlights and she did a great job at listening to what I wanted and giving advice on what she thought would look good. I'll definitely be going back! read more

Mc Kayla at Relik is amazing! She did a gorgeous completely seamless balayage for me, and then I decided I wanted to try something fun, and I went back and we added violet to the blonds in my balayage, and I LOVE how it turned out. She has a great eye for detail, and I couldn't recommend her more highly. read more

Was referred to Lisa, She was nice and competent however, the price was over the top! $160.00 for a balayage, on mid-length hair, not thick, no cut. I have never paid that much for a balayage with minor correction and tone. Would not go there again. Do not recommend. Sorry. read more
