After all, what could go wrong about just bringing in the paper I got from ICBC, paying and getting my new insurance sticker...?? So that's what I did: went in with my notice from ICBC knowing exactly what I wanted and how much it would be. Simple enough, I thought. I gave this paper to the girl and had my wallet ready to go. When she started going over every single item in my insurance, and how everything should be upgraded, emphasizing how important it would be to extend my 3rd party liability to 5 million or I would be in big trouble, and upgrade comprehensive because anything could chip my glass and I would get into an accident, and so on ... Here: I only use this car on the weekend. It is an old car and I don't care much if it gets chips on the glass. I know what each item on the insurance paper means and I just really wanted the basic! (And I already have 3 million liability anyways). Long story short (well, not so short at this point...), I got really annoyed at her trying to up sell everything. I just wanted it to be over! So I said I was in a hurry, politely declined every offer, paid and ran away! I will not be a returning customer here. I dislike when people try to push me things I don't want...

No sooner had I walked in the door but two new insurance agents popped up from the back to help us. You can only wish for this kind of service from a bank, generally speaking! My agent seemed to be an expert at his craft, and though my rates have gone up yet again for another year of accident-and-claim-free driving(thanks ICBC!!!), it was that much easier to stomach thanks to the service I received. Without any changes to my plan I was in and out in about fifteen minutes. We even chatted about the neighbourhood and how accident-prone the street facing the insurance agency was, which was news to me. Overall, I would happily go out of my way to come to this insurance agency again - they are a pleasure to deal with.

It was a very step-by-step process, explaining all of my coverage and payment options. The location is convenient for anyone living in the West End and includes two hours of free underground parking, which is great if you're registering your vehicle since the broker needs to see your vehicle in person. I will definitely be back when I do my renewal in a few months.

For example, today with the help of Fred and Rick, we put our car in storage as we are travelling for two months, got the recommended storage plan, and got the required air care. Rick realized that we would need air care due to the age of our car and thus saved us the frustration of several steps on our arrival home: getting a temporary permit, rushing off to get the car air-cared, and then going to the office again to renew for a year. We were very happy with the patience and explanation that Fred gave so we could make an informed decision and also, the teamwork displayed when we returned and Rick completed the transaction was very efficient.
