It was a very step-by-step process, explaining all of my coverage and payment options. The location is convenient for anyone living in the West End and includes two hours of free underground parking, which is great if you're registering your vehicle since the broker needs to see your vehicle in person. I will definitely be back when I do my renewal in a few months.

I offered to use the money from selling the car and what little I had in my savings to pay off the insurance so i could get rid of the car but they said it wouldn't register in their system until next week. Then the representative told me to call on Monday as apparently account services is "open on statutory holidays" come Monday the office is closed and the sale of my car fell through. Now I am saddled with the car again, no information on what to do and nobody to contact about this issue. Is this a scam??

I own 3 vehicles, two motorcycles and a trailer and have renewed all of them multiple times at this location. I have never had any problem with payment not going through or any other issue on my part... I pay in full by credit card. But despite that, nearly every time I come in, this particular owner finds a way to delay or obstruct simple renewals. For example, today, May 4th 2026... I went in to renew my trailer insurance. I provided my drivers licence and told him I wanted to renew the insurance on the trailer. His response was to demand I describe the trailer in detail, manufacturer name, etc. and implied if I didn't, he would not be able to offer insurance. In the past he has provided incorrect information regarding who may or may not legally drive a vehicle I had insured, as well as generally demanding answers to questions which are not relevant. I have now decided I will not use this particular branch of the Sussex business ever again. I had no problems with other Sussex branches... only this one.

We tried this several months ago at this location but we were told there wasn't enough time as we got there 15 minutes before closing. We were a bit put off but went elsewhere. Yesterday we were doing the transfer again and went there 35 minutes before closing. We were told by the very young lady at the desk that this would take an hour and as they had several people already waiting they couldn't do it that day. Now, my father spent 25 years owning and operating an ICBC brokerage agency plus we've done this 20 times or more. I told her it took 20 minutes if you know how to do it and explained exactly what needed to be done. She clearly was lost but still wanted to get us out of there. She started making other excuses as to why they couldn't do it that day but we just said goodbye. We went down the street where a very competent lady had our transfer plus a storage policy done in 11 minutes! We've done business here before and the service has been sometimes good and sometimes only fair. Now they seem intent on making sure they're locking the doors at one minute to closing. As BCAA members we expected better. EDIT: Well believe it or not we gave them another chance! Tried doing the same transfer recently. We knew we were in trouble when despite the fact that there were 4 employees and only one other customer in the office, we had to wait 10 minutes before someone was "available" to help us. He was very nice but seemed to have trouble even understanding what we wanted done. Once he did understand it took 40 minutes for him to do it and he had to call someone to help him three times. 50 minutes in total? We won't be back.

He tipped me to take a picture of my mileage to see if I was entitled to a discount - and I was. I was also getting new licence plates. He lent me tools to take my old plates off. When I had difficulties, due to striped old screws holding the plates, he cheerfully came out, got the old plates off and the put the new ones on. Exceptional service! And so pleasant in this day where 'No service' is the norm .
