Not to mention eternally relieved to have finally completed a state inspection. What would otherwise be classified as an innocuous, yet necessary tradition, you would be surprised how difficult it is to find a place to get a proper state inspection done IF you're new to the area and not quite sure where to go. Worse yet....if you happen to have tint on your front windows like I did, you'd be hard pressed to find a place that will even perform said inspection, as it apparently violates NH state law. Anyway, this place is fast, efficient, and the staff are very accommodating. They even have a spiffy little waiting area with coffee and everything. Also, they accept Apple Pay. Which....I didn't realize until AFTER I already paid them with my card. See, they have one of those scanners that displays the option as the total is presented. I told the lady at the front desk they should probably post a sticky on the front door mentioning as much. This is such a convenient spot for me to get my state inspection and whatever else done because it's so close to where I live. And affordable? You bet your ass they are! Merrimack Auto Center is worthy of 5 swiftly executed state inspections out of 5.

They told me that they couldn't help me because I went to another mechanic but why in hell would I go BACK TO THEM!?!? Crazy anyways don't go here. The first time I went there for an oil change they called me about a completely different car !! Like wtf made me drive back and everything! If they say someone will call me back, they actually do, which is rare for companies and shops these days. Dave and Ryan in the administration office have it together. They are efficient and communicate with the shop guys. You can tell they work well with each other and respect each other. There's zero friction and they work together to get the job done. I've only worked with Dave, the mechanic (they have a few Dave's working in the shop, so I need to be specific). He's honest and knows what he's doing. You see, it turns out that ol' VIP here really treats their veterans, (past and present) like the real VIPs. By granting them all free state inspections. For those who don't drive on the regular, this is kind of a huge deal. At the time of writing this review, that's 45 bucks I didn't have to spend. And while it's an ancillary amount of money, the words to properly articulate how deeply I appreciate the gesture alone haven't been invented yet. So, as others here have pointed out already, service is fast and efficient. I booked an appointment, even though I didn't have to. They looked vacant enough to take a walk-in right there and then. But all in all, the inspection took all of 10 minutes, tops. And that's it, really. Nothing complicated about it. A maintenance shop just needs to provide service quickly for a fair price, far as I'm concerned. VIP Tires & Service receives 5 socket wrenches dipped in gold plating out of 5.
